Situated in the Bras Basah area, The Betterfield offers truly fine dining quality fare in a relaxed bistro setting. The kitchen is helmed by a chef who has former experience working in several hotel and restaurant kitchens, and the years of experience is evident in the sheer quality of the food served. Try their brunch options such as Eggs Benedict, or their finger food options like truffle fries and their awesome Secret Thai Chilli Chicken. For mains, go for the Duck Confit and the Black Angus Ribeye, which are irresistibly affordable at just $20 nett, yet taste better than equivalents which cost double elsewhere. This place is a true gem!

Another place to satisfy your Korean chicken cravings! We ordered the garlic flavour as recommended by their staff there. Mac and cheese was really cheesy but good.

Salad with sweet potatoes, bacon and nuts. $15.

Price ranges from $6-$7. Flavours include original, caramel, chocolate, macha, and a choice of yogurt or milk soft serve.

Generous portion of seafood! Worth the penny.

True to Teppei style, Hanare offers two value-for-money buffet options: full buffet at $19.90 (one main dish + free flow of 20 side dish options) or bara set at $17.90 (chirashi don + free flow of 4 side dish options). While the full buffet had interestingly respectable dishes like whole garlic cloves cooked in Japanese spice, I much preferred the bara set. Topped with an incredibly generous portion of fresh chunky pieces of sashimi like salmon, tuna, scallop, surf clam, swordfish and roe, the chirashi was incredibly indulgent, save for the overpowering sesame dressing. If you're ordering this, you might probably want to request for the dressing on the side. Be sure to head down early; by 12:30pm, the 42-seater was packed with a dozen PMEBs waiting in line. Definitely worth the money, and best of all, you won't need to make a reservation two months in advance. #foodporn #foodreview #foodie #hanare #japanese #food #chirashi #sashimi

A collab with the popular Sarnies, The Lokal features breakfast and lunch items like Triple Cheese & Mushroom toasties, Veal schnitzel burger, and excellent coffee. Great to have another quality cafe in the Duxton area!

This beautiful new concept from Bali has taken over Keong Saik's iconic Tong Ah Kopitiam, and is thankfully serving great food in an inviting space. Tuck into a Three Buns burger on the whimsical second floor, and move upstairs to the third floor bar for a drink, or the rooftop garden if the weather permits.

Previously an old provision shop, Tian Kee is now a lovely cafe that amazingly retains nostalgia in the idyllic Dakota neighborhood. Complete with familiar toys, a kiddy ride outside that still works and no air con, this might just be the perfect spot to relax (until the crowd fills it up). Coffee is light, beans sourced by Dutch Colony, and the cakes are elegant. GO, before it's too late!
