Chanced upon a random food truck while exiting Dontonburi after dinner. The ojisan was scooping some “white jelly” out from a pool of ice cold water on to a container and packed into plastic bag with a bag of “brown powder”. Little do we know that is actually warabi mochi with kinako powder! OMG! First bite into the mochi, super soft and cold mochi give a great intense sensation to our mouth and the kinako enhanced the flavour of it! The ojisan literally spammed the whole container with kinako powder!

One of the softest tonkatsu i have ever eaten with many flavours to choose from! Comes with a choice of ochazuke or normal rice! Opt for the ochazuke for an authentic japanese experience and really loves it! Ochazuke is actually similar to our hakka thunder tea rice but instead of pouring tea into the rice, a pot of eel soup was given to me.

Super excited to try the premium pancake from Cafe Gram after seeing bouncy video all over the social media. But it kind of disappoint me after the first mouth, not that soft and fluffy i expected that coupled with all the hypes and exclusivity. No doubt it’s still soft on the inner but impressive as overall. However, the cream by the side definitely a saving grace! So so different from the conventional cream we had in SG!

Attracted by the long queue upon entering Dotonbori and joined in the fun! Probably due to the long queue, our takoyaki is not well cooked as some of the takoyaki falls apart after we picked up from the container. It does not come cheap either, is ¥800 for 6 balls.

Minimum 20 pieces order per person. Is in bite sized hence 20 pieces is ok portion for ladies. Guys would probably need to order 30 to 40 for a more fulling portion. The owner said that why gyoza in small size is due to his grandmother hands are smaller hence gyoza are made small and he continue that spirit from his grandmother after taking over the business from her.

Just wow! Simple and good! Fresh and soft fish cake soak in hot soup. Is really the food that you should have in the morning.

Sweet matcha pie only available in Burger King, Japan.

Ohhhmygwadddd~~ Mind-blowing cheese cake with long queue everytime i pass by their shop! Not just the insta-worthy boucy boomerang, but the taste of it is definitely worth the queue. I recommend to eat it fresh, if not please do hear up before you eat to get the best taste out of this cheesecake.

Had a magical lunch with beef rib, chicken thigh, beef pie, corn on cob, mixed veg and a soup side. One of the nicest lunch for a theme park meal and the beef pie is something i recommend them to sell as a singular item. Is really delicious and one of the nicer pie than some pie specialty shop!

Chanced upon this belgium waffles shop in a JR station while transiting to another place for dinner. Decided to try 1 as we are hungry! Soft waffles with fresh white peach cream that are full of flavour. Nice peach sweetness which makes me crave for more!

Known as yatsuhashi, and this is the raw and unbaked version. Soft and mochi-liked texture skin that is wrapped with red bean and match paste. They have another baked version, which has similar texture as a cracker.

Famous sweet parlor in the Gion district that serves atas desserts. Mochi served was quite hard and we have to grill it before dipping into a bowl of hot red bean soup. Quite a unique experience only in kyoto.
