Had a lunch set at Dumpling darlings with consists of a drink, noodle and 4 dumplings for $16++. The noodle was average but topped off with a lovely onsen egg. The cheesy pierogi dumpling was a good complement to the noodles. Overall, it was a pleasant good value lunch with Burpple Beyond.

We enjoyed the refreshing fish tacos ($23) with a zingy mango salsa complemented by tasty curly fries. While the truffle scrambled eggs and parma ham were pleasant, the Academics Breakfast ($25) was disappointing as the bread was hard (with butter and jam provided only upon request), beans tasted like it came out of a can and the sausage was tough with too little fat. Overall we find that this restaurant is worth it with Burpple Beyond but it would be too pricey otherwise.

This hole in the wall restaurant serves a variety of simple hallal western food. The food was affordable and came in huge portions. The cheesy chicken cutlet spaghetti which only costs $9.50 will definitely fill you up on one of those hungry nights. The sauce for the chicken chop (not pictured) which cost around $8 was also simple but delicious. The only downside to the restaurant is that food may take awhile to be served. Overall this is the go-to place for your western comfort food cravings and certainly a place which I intend to visit again!

Amongst all the Sous Vide goodness at Wafuken, the Truffle Wagyu Don is certainly an item you should at least try once. Although it's a little pricey for an office lunch, the strong beefy flavour of the Sous Vide medium-rare wagyu really stands out. Compared to some other truffle bowls I've tried, where the truffle overpowers the flavour of beef, the truffle here complements and adds a layer of flavour to the already delicious wagyu. Their bowls also come with a nice sweet pickle and a pleasant sweet dry mix, which texture and taste somewhat resembles that of hei bi (chinese dried shrimp), to complement the brown rice. This was a meal which I really enjoyed.

The "Full Works" is great if you love brunch but can't stand petite food portions. The scrambled eggs, brioche and chicken sausage were pleasant. The bacon fats do melt in your mouth. However as much as the mushrooms looked chunky and decadent, it did not really deliver on the flavour. The little element which really stood out was the 'hashbrowns' which were in fact fried mashed potato balls. The balls were creamy on the inside and it was rather flavourful with just the right level of saltiness. Overall it was a pretty satisfying (and filling) brunch!

The Chicken is perfectly cooked, slightly charred and with a smoky flavour. The Sriracha does add a kick the burger and it it is accompanied with a side of pleasant umami fries. There is a one-for-one for NUS students for this burger so it was a really good deal!
