Used to be one of my most frequented places for dinner in the heart of bustling Orchard Road, when they still had 'AMEX Love Dining' promo's of 50% off for 2! It was so worth it then, but hv since ceased. I will pick this place for ambience rather than the food (nice but nth to shout abt)

Pros: Good service. Complimentary bread. Peace & quiet, super relaxing place. Nice ambience, very cooling at night. Food is fresh & high quality. My fav caesar salad, a must order! PΓ’tΓ© was good, especially when paired with the bland lamb loin. Lobster linguine sauce nice.
🐨
Cons: No air-con seating. Lamb loin was sooo bland & tough (medium). Pasta noodles didn't absorb the flavours well.

Price: S$64.84 after 50% vouchers (org. $118.87) - 2pax, super stuffed couldn't even do desserts

Hougang outlet: Today while visiting, i'm having local coffeeshop western food @chargrillbar.sg 😊 2nd time trying, it's not bad! When you just want a quick & fuss-free meal.

🌸
Pros: Can choose your sides (the nice kinds). Substantial portions.
🌸
Cons: Based on price alone, what's there to nit-pick on? If i must, the chicken was tad bit dry. Veg not soft enough, cheese sauce (pasta) very "chemical" tasting πŸ˜‚ & i won't order mushroom soup again.
🌸
Price: S$9.50 - salted egg chicken chop + mushroom soup

East Coast: @ninethirty_sg by @awfullychocolatesg. We only come here for desserts. Somehow their food doesn't appeal to me.

Pros: Good service. Takeaway no service charge of 10%. Hei ice cream is creamy & chocolatey! 😍 My favs: truffles, salted caramel brownie, smores, ice cream.
🐧
Cons: Kindda pricey. Everything is extremely sweet. Hit & miss items. "Apple Pie" drink waste money - diluted & tasteless.

Oh hi guys, it's @lolascafesg again πŸ˜‚πŸ˜… 8th postingggg, have yet to try their new dinner menu's though! Previous in-depth reviews: 4days back

I really like the sesame tart! 😍 Not sweet and unique glutinous texture filling.

Price: S$10 - black sesame tart, matcha latte

Thanks to my dog, @sun_ray_cafe is hands-down my most frequented cafe (don't like having dinners at cafes). Food is great, lots of doggy friends especially weekends & noticeable improvements from last visit 😊 - especially the sharp/acidic dog pee stench is not as pronounced anymore. Previous review: 19Mar

Pros: Food is generally tasty (& my fav out of all dog cafe's)πŸ‘There is a no-dogs dining section too. Prompt service. I like their omelettes here! Home-made breads, tried the brioche it's yummy.

Cons: Stopped having their cake-display desserts as i always get a stale slice (only once i've had a fresh durian cake & that was awesome though)

Price: S$40

The landscape of Tai Seng is rapidly changing. What used to be a barren industrial area is playing host to an ever growing dining scene. @carol_mel_cafe
is def one of the best cafe's around this area (& the next πŸ˜‚). I don't like dining at cafes but this was simple food, done wellπŸ‘

While we didn't get to jump on the #unicornfrappuccino bandwagon, we have our talented barista @damien_tc creating awesome #latteart over @carol_mel_cafe!

Do note that green tea latte isn't on their permanent menu - for a limited time only!

Price: S$6

Our 2nd stop for the night @themassessg! Had no intention of returning so soon ever since the dismal last visit, but was still hungry from our dinner at @Fukusenrestaurant & this was the next best option. Fortunately, it was wonderful!

Pros: Food was good. Reasonable prices. Will reorder everything again. Special mention to the candied orange w duck confit which i failed to capture, it was poached 6x so even the skin is soft enough to eat!
🌡
Cons: Dark choc mousse is super intense (most ppl would love it, but i'm the milk/white type 😁). I'm just saying this to balance out the review... what cons? no cons for this visit πŸ˜†

This @fukusenrestaurant was really quite a "saga" πŸ˜‚ Made reservation last week & went down only to realise they were out of uni. So we left, asking to make another reservation for today - they were so nice abt it, guaranteeing to reserve uni for us. Lo & behold, when we went, they did not bother to put our reservations down πŸ˜’ Won't u at least pretend u did??

Pros: Cosy interior. Polite staffs. Hotate, foie gras don was yummy! Rice was delicious. Fresh tasting sashimi. Creamy uni.
🐳
Cons: Long wait. Sooooo thinly sliced & low grade quality. Uni & ikura was bitter. Uni don very bland when paired with rice. Each bowl supposedly enough for 1, but it's too little. Not value-for-money, left feeling half-full & unsatisfied.

It's @lolascafesg again! This is my 7th review, but have not eaten their mains till now πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I have tried their old menu twice (before starting this IG) & not nice. Will give the new menu a go sometime soon. One of the rare few cafe's that closes late, which i'm grateful for. Previous in-depth review: 11Mar

Geylang Lor 44 (Grandlink Sq): Long-standing & popular, since the time i used to live there which was more than 10-11 yrs ago 😱😨 Some deem this to be THE place for the best Vietnamese food - probably for SG's standards as not many strong contenders in Viet food scene. For me it's okay only but it sure has it's merits! It's one of my fav cuisines so i'm *tough* when it comes to Viet food.

Pros: Highly affordable. Extensive menu. Outdoor is beside a river, lovely at night (but polluted & not romantic during daytime πŸ˜‚). Nice drinks!! Food is generally tasty. Stewed beef is really tender! Glad they sell small pho soup separately. Good for a nice quick-lunch sort of place.
πŸ‘’
Cons: Crowded & long q during dinner. If you like tasting MSG, salt & copius amts of fish sauce. Beef brisket in standard pho is dry & chewy (so is everywhere else. I don't order beef pho for this reason, even tho i love the soup)
