Expected it to be impeccable but sadly nah. I can’t rmb the full names of the dishes but here we go:

Beyond only applied to 4 dishes — Scottish blue mussels, prawn capellini, risotto and sea bass. So we ordered those, plus lamb and a bread and butter pudding.

1. Scottish blue mussels in white wine
It was ok, quite enjoyable. Served with sourdough.

2. Prawn capellini
Hard undercooked noodles......... :(

3. Risotto
Hard undercooked risotto................. It’s a no. The mussels and prawns were okay though.

4. Sea bass and salad
It was okaay, nothing special imo.

5. Lamb
We had it well done so it was really tough.. Served with a few mushrooms and fried batter. Not worth for $32.

6. Bread and butter pudding
Yas. A bit smaller than I expected haha but it’s ok cuz quite sweet so eat too much will jelat

We also ordered English breakfast tea and orange juice. Costs $1 to refill the teapot. Water was also chargeable. Total bill was $132.

aah another unaesthetic food photo because I couldn’t wait to dig into it. (oh pls ignore the fried fish it came from lor mee 😅)

Long queue but moves rather quickly. Comes in $3/4/5 portions. This is the $4 portion. I think the uncle half-cooks the prawns and sotongs and adds them in to be cooked freshly for every customer. Some of the prawns were fully peeled so I was grateful for that. The 粗米粉 is the thinner kind. The wooden chopsticks provided boosted the eating experience somehow haha.

Coffee Set 1 — $8.80+ (hot beverage + cake/tart)
Caramel Latte Macchiato
Blueberry Cheesecake

Coffee Set 2 — $6.90+ (hot beverage + breakfast pastry)
English Breakfast Tea
Pain Au Chocolat

Blueberry cheesecake was nice and quite a generous portion. Chocolate croissant was also quite huge, and crispy, flaky, buttery, chewy all at once. Chocolate was minimal though.

Very nice and spacious environment. Tables cater to different group sizes. Child-friendly too — there’s a children’s section and colourful plastic cutlery for kids. And a baby chair. One thing to note is that there are many inconspicuous bumps (steps? slopes?) on the floor that serve to stumble u so be careful! Oh and nice toilet.

After GST and service charge it added up to abt $17.

Really nice rustic wooden interior with orange lightbulbs. Pop song covers lulled in the background. Strong ceiling fans provided a nice breeze (or gale). Great service as well. 👌🏼

Here’s what we ordered! Burpple Beyond applied to any main dish.

🥘 MAINS 🥘

1. Carbonara $13.90
Tasted as good as it looks. Arrived the fastest.

2. Leg of Lamb $18.90
Thin and juicy, slightly too red near the bone. Tasty sides! I think they were like salted roasted potatoes and veg.

3. Hamachi Fin $18
Not an expert on fish fins but it was a bit on the dry side — over cooked? Felt like saba. Chili went well with the fish though and presentation was cute. Would be better if it were served with some carbs... Slowest to arrive.

4. Sambal Fish $16.90
Nice samballll. Served with rice (butter or coconut I can’t rmb oops).

5. Top-up Mushroom soup $3
Okay. Garlic bread was softly crispy and oily — nice.

🍺 DRINKS 🍺

1. Shirley’s Temple $5
I think it’s sprite with cherry?

2. Hawaii Soda $4
Pineapple soda 🧐

3. Iced Lemon Tea $3.50
Can add the amount of sugar syrup u want.

4. English Breakfast Tea $5.90
Nice.

Overall a nice place for dates or hanging out with your buds.

Sorry for the really bad photo haha I just couldn’t figure how everyone takes those nice overhead shots.

Buffet included tteokbokki, kimchi, japchae, kimchi pancake, chicken wings, cheese tofu, broccoli, mala vegetables, tapioca cubes, sweet potato slices, yam paste, gingko barley dessert and udon (?).

Drinks included iced water, water chestnut, lime, mango and hot Korean barley tea.

GOTTA TRY the chicken wings and tapioca!! The skin of the chicken wings was crisp and sweet, and didn’t taste fried? The tapioca seemed unassuming but these white cubes were sweet and make a good confection.

The staff were v friendly and offered to help us take pictures. Paid $27 after some discount.

Finally tried this twirly clump of calories!!! 👅👅Ordered Roasted Pistachio 🥜 and Earl Grey Lavender 🌫 One-for-one using burpple beyond so total bill was $12.

Both had many layers of flavours and tasted like their names. Roasted Pistachio was served with 2 biscuits while Earl Grey Lavender had strawberries and some sweet peanut biscuit. Both had a chocolate covered biscuit as a base for the ice cream and there was honey and chocolate syrup — surreptitiously disguised as the design of the plate — drizzled around the centerpiece.

Waffles were adequately hard and fluffy. The ice cream melts very fast though...or maybe I am a slow eater.

Friendly and quick staff :-) One downside is that the place was v noisy 🙉

Really love dining at Nakhon @ Marine Parade. Very fast service and quality food. Also there’s a waiter who can balance plates on his arm 😮

What we ordered:

🍚 Tomyum Tanghoon w seafood ($5)
🍚 Thai Hor Fun ($4) — like SG one
🍚 Chili Lime Seafood ($20) — not so special imo, just nice presentation on the grill thing
🍚 Pandan Chicken ($5)
🍚 Mixed Veg ($6) — nice umami sauce!!
🍚 Olive Fried Rice ($6) — couldn’t see/taste the kanacai though....thought they probably served wrongly
🍚 Thai Ice Red Tea ($3)
🍚 Red Ruby ($3)
🍚 Lemongrass ($3)

Poached Pig’s Liver ($8.80) was pure perfection. Very generous portion; pieces were large and thick but tender, and without any trace of blood. The embedded hepatic veins that appeared every now and then provided an interesting chew.

Crunchy but delightful waffles drizzled with honey ($6). The soft serve ($2.50) was a great complement. Ambience was chill and nice too 🌿
