Ispahan: 5/5. Lychee rose gelato with raspberry bits. Subtle but flavourful raspberry gelato that goes really well w the slightly tangy raspberry in the ice cream. Unlike most gelatos that get really jelat after awhile.... this gets better the more u eat it!!!

Pandan coconut: 5/5. Love the pandan fragrance that goes really well w the coconut ice cream!

Brown butter sage: taste like sweet and slightly caramelised butter with slightly herbally-floral flavour profile. More flavourful than the above two but I love it as well! 5/5.

Gelatos here don’t leave a sour aftertaste/leave u jelat. The home made cone is also slightly salty which pairs really well w the ice cream!

Roasted pork belly: perfect ratio of fat to meat, wonderfully crispy and light skin roasted to perfection! While not melt in your mouth, the meat was flavourful and juicy - 5/5

Char Siew: almost melt in your mouth char Siew that’s is sweet and savoury. Only gripe is that the meat is quite fatty - but I guess that’s where the tenderness comes from 4/5 😅

Roast duck: love the roast duck! Tender and flavourful. The skin of the duck was very light and not fatty 5/5.

With a plate of rice + glistening sauce + chilli, a very satisfying meal 😍

One of the best prawn noodles I’ve ever had! Broth is flavourful without being overly rich, generous ingredients, fresh prawns. They have the option of prawn soup with vegetables (spinach, egg tofu etc), with pork ribs and slices which makes a very hearty meal.

Crowded on the weekends but you can still find a seat. Shop is airy and clean. One hidden gem 💯

Been following puffs and peaks since they were an online bakery and so happy that they have finally opened a physical space.

Donuts and fluffy with a rotation of flavours every week. The dough doesn’t get hard even after refrigeration and the fillings are always generous without being too sweet. My personal favourite is the vanilla one - very generous vanilla custard cream that smells soooo heavenly and doesn’t get jelat. Love their matcha flavour and pandan coconut too!

Best cake will definitely be Lavender blackcurrant with salted honey whip!

Brownie is a good balance between fudgey and cakey - one of my favourites too.

Their sour dough is moist and airy, with a great chewy texture.

Basically...... everything is awesome! Small bakery with quality bakes 💯

Soup was flavourful and light! Filled with pig slices, intestines and pork belly for a mere $4.20. Perfect with rice!

The Hua diao chicken was soooo tender and flavourful.

Coffee shop was clean and airy. Would definitely return!

Coconut pandan: 9/10 - one of my favs!!! very natural pandan taste with no hint of artificial flavouring.

Pistachio: 10/10. Extremely fragrant pistachio.

You can taste the all natural ingredients in the gelato here! Only hope the ice cream to be more elastic 😝

After seeing an Eatbook review of this, I immediately texted my dad (who’s a fan of unagi) to go down to Bugis+ for dinner with me!

I loved the char of the unagi and the oily-ness of the skin was just right. The soup that came alone was rather addictive too! A nice complement to the dish. Followed the 3 steps of having a Hitsumabushi and the broth was a bit underwhelming but still a very nice addition!

For just $19.90, for a double portion of unagi, my stomach and (dad’s) wallet was very happy! 🥳 I wouldn’t say this is the best unagi I’ve had, but at this price range definitely WOOOORTH a visit 🙂

Third time here and finally trying the classic Striploin Steak ($18). Was pleasantly surprised with how the beef was tender and easy to chew! Ordered a medium rare, while my dad who always goes for a medium well mentioned how it’s a bit hard at that doneness. So choose to your preferences friends! The dish was accompanied with a smooth truffle mash and veges that went well altogether. Went for the garlic sauce that paired well with the steak! You get to choose between mushroom, garlic and black pepper sauce.

Definitely go for the steak if you are visiting Meathouse, previously tried the Joper Oven Steak with Pasta and the cooking method made the beef tough which wasn’t to my liking.

Had a go on the classic Dory fish and chips ($9.90), very affordable! The dory fish was fried really nicely but still kept its flakiness and moisture. What looks like mashed potato was actually a thicker tangy mayo for your fish! If you’re feeling hungry, you can add $3.90 for another piece of dory. Wooooooorth.

Ambience was really nice with a lot of for foreigners walking along Haji Lane for the added overseas feeling! Would definitely return and try other dish with Burpple Beyond!

Pictures does not do this pasta justice! Featuring the sea bass tomato pasta. Not one of the signatures but it’s so good! The texture of the pasta was perfect, doughy yet with a bite. The sea bass was pan fried to perfection with the skin crispy and the meat so soft and flaky. The pasta was extremely flavourful, with garlic and umami taste coating every strand 10/10 would recommend.

Also tried the seafood soup. Pricey at $24 but a generous portion of seafood. The soup was so flavourful and you can tell the generous amounts of seafood they use to cook the soup - with squid, prawns, sea bass, scallop, mussels etc. Really recommend it too!

Got this with the burpple 1–1 and so worth it. Miso mushroom noodles was chewy, full or flavour and so wholesome. Loved the original dumplings! Similar to what you would get in Korea 😜
