Turkish food here paled in comparison to my usual favorite: kebab station. Beef came in shreds that we couldn't help but feel like they were leftovers.. Chicken was not bad on the other hand! But for a lower price (abt $1 cheaper) one could get the same thing at kebab station with a side of potato wedges 🙊
Always comforting and comes with a chock full of ingredients that will definitely set you back on a fast rising food coma, the Ambeng Original Duo Set A ($24) is for 2 pax but I believe a 3 person stomach space will be sufficient too. Consisting of Rice, Ayam Kalio, Beef Rendang, Sambal Goreng, Urap Kencur, Terung Garem Asam, Telur Belado, Begedel, Paru, Serunding and Sambal Balachan, it is like a medley of colours that will whet your appetite instantly. My favourites are the beef rendang and paru (beef lungs) which both are absolutely delish and go so well with the rice. Highly recommended place for a uber satisfying meal.

Sliced beef in fried rice isn't something that crosses my mind automatically but it turned out to be satisfying when I tried the dish at Dahlia's Cafe. Initially, I was surprised to learn that it's non-spicy. Since I wanted a bit of kick, I asked for a saucer of their "sambal belachan". A smart move if I may say so myself, because mixing that into the fried rice added a nice boost to the overall flavour. Love how the pickled green chilli threw in a fruity spicy bite too.
Sop Buntut (S$8.90)
Commonly known as oxtail soup, made from fried oxtail. Served with vegetables in a clear but rich beef broth.
Available at @BebekGorengPakNdut_SG
Kind of missing the tender meat in the soup which I had last Friday.
