Food is surprisingly good and that explains the number of reservations during the weekend. We went really early around 6pm which is the opening hour for the restaurant for dinner. Food was pretty good and great ambience outdoor. But still, nothing beats the peranakan food in Malacca!
unfortunately did not have any food pictures. we had babi pongtay, ayam buah keluak, sotong sambal and egg popiah. The food was so so and the portion was really small for 4 people which does not seem to add up the price.
nestled among the bars in Prinsep street. This restaurant clearly turns into a place for night drinkers. To our delight, we found out that the restaurant is serving our favorite little creatures on draft too - SGD13 on HH.
Oops sorry about the side track- brunch is affordable with 1 for 1 Burpple Beyond and it’s not bad. 🙂 But to spend full price... i guess we would be more inclined to spend it on a cafe-ambience restaurant.
upon entering the shop, we have told the waiters that we would like to use the burpple deals and they said okay. They took down our orders and confirmed again that we were using burpple. (did not inform us that we need to order IDENTICAL drinks)
fast forward, when we were about to pay, we saw that they did not cross out the other drinks and then the waiter said we are not allowed to use burpple as we did not order the same drink. the waiter insisted we ordered another same drink so we can get that for free. we weren’t told about the identical drinks rule and the fact that we have told them we were using burpple twice, we do not want to force ourselves to have another drink.
The waiter have no choice and proceeded to get us another rectified bill. we were yet shocked again as they did not write off the one drink, but instead they just charge a 50% off on one drink and we still pay the full price for the second drink. we disputed again and the waiter said this is how their system works. there is nothing they could do or change anything. (literally repeat this is how their system works)
The experience of this was horrid and upsetting. we have claimed many burpple deals and this is by far the worst experience we have ever had. Now, there are many cocktails bar in Singapore, if you want to advertise your drinks in burpple and encourage ppl to return again, then please stick with the burpple rules! if you’re confident that you do not need to advertise, then save us burrple users some troubles too! after all, all the signatures they have ain’t so “signatures” and the prices for cocktails are about the same all around. is it worth it? NO
is it worth the trouble and to endure the dismissive and rude attitude? NO
like one of the user’s comment- even if it’s free, i’ll never patronize this store ever again. I would rather pay full or more expensive price elsewhere with better ambience, better drinks and definitely BETTER SERVICE.
I love the sauce of the smoked duck breast! The meat is tender and goes really well with sauce. Definitely worth it with burpple beyond.
The down side of this burpple is that you have to order a drink. Their mocktail is really sweet and artificial.

The pork don is definitely a highlight in this small shop tucked away in Far East Plaza. It was nicely cooked and the flavor was good. The owner also recommended us to try their Salmon soup which was really flavorful and you get an additional 10% as a burpple member.
The Omu rice though.... was disappointing. Demi glazed sauce did not go well with the beef and the rice. Did not really enjoyed the dish.
But overall, it was good. will probably revisit again and try other dishes.
I enjoyed the tortellini noodle although the broth tasted a little artificial with MSG. overall, food tasted pretty good.
However, there were one downside. on the way to washroom, we saw how the kitchen actually segregated a portion of beef in every plastic container in the open air without covers on it. Gotta be more hygienic! never know what could have landed in it....

Using Burpple 1-1 for Rosti and drinks! Rosti was not too bad but the smoked salmon served wasn’t fresh and looks like it has been exposed for quite some time. Overall, everything was okay!
i have been here a couple of times and only have good things in mind to say; but when i returned this time, surprising to find the Pesto Salmon that i always ordered - Salmon portion has decreased more than half the normal portion. kind of disappointed with how the standard changed so fast :/
