$15++ // AMAZING AND I AM IN LOVE WITH IMPOSSIBLE MEAT 😍😍😍😍 it has the same texture as beef (which i rly missed) but without the meaty/bloody taste that i always tasted when i used to eat actual beef, so this was great cos i get to eat “beef” without feeling any guilt!! + it’s very environmentally friendly too so all the better :-))) and this dish had a very earthy/mushroom-y taste to it, not sure if it was from the sauce or the meat but overall a great dish!!
rly love prive for its gorgeous restaurant decor (this one was a garden/outdoor setting with a backdrop of fairy lights which made it so magical) and high quality food. i also tried the chili crab pasta, chili & lime salmon, truffled mushroom pizza, oreo mudpie and hummingbird cake (what a mass consumption kind of day, come to think of it) and all the dishes were really amazing as well in terms of taste, quality, flavor combinations and texture. despite the relatively steep prices, i can’t wait to come back for more!!
I am not a big fan of creamy pasta as I find some too heavy for my liking, but I enjoyed the Linguine Mushroom ‘Carbonara’ ($18). The generous serving of mushrooms goes well with the cashew cream sauce and cashew parmesan. I like that the sauce is smooth, not too thick and has a nutty undertone that helps keep that jelakness at bay.
Overall, the food at Prive is quite good and the price is surprisingly reasonable. The service at CHIJMES is quite good too:)
My favourite dish of the day is Spaghetti Aglio Olio with Roasted Pork Belly ($21). The al dente spaghetti is tossed in olive oil with sundried tomatoes, bacon, garlic and chilli, and topped with 4 slabs of roasted pork belly with crackling skin. The sauce is spicy and flavourful, and the crispy roasted pork belly adds a nice crunch to it.
Overall, the food at Prive is quite good and the price is surprisingly reasonable. The service at CHIJMES is quite good too:)
This felt like a salad I would get at a free flow salad bar, because it contains sooo much ingredients! There’s a huge variety of vegetables, such as baby spinach, kale, broccoli, purple cabbage, pumpkin, cucumber etc. and it had quinoa, smashed avocado and hummus too! The pomegranate seeds and cashew nuts added a nice crunch. This was really filling and I like how every bite was different as there’s so many textures and flavours in a single dish.
Classic Flat White made with craftsmanship and detail. Tastes and looks good 👍🏻 ($5.80)
Hidden find in Serangoon! Enjoyed the minimal decor of the cafe and the ice cream 👍🏻 Had Earl Grey Lavender and award-winning Vanilla. Simple and classic. (~$12 for two scoops + waffles)
Delicious, hearty duck rice from Ghim Moh Food Centre! ($4)
Fragrant floral Chinese tea enjoyed at a nice tea bar in Katong Square ($8, Available on eatigo $4) Tea leaves make great gifts too!
Childhood favourite reimagined at Humble Scoop! ($4.90) Bought a pint of Pulut Hitam too and my parents love it! ($18) Worth a try 👍🏻 Not to mention the owners who would make the ice cream from scratch everyday! (blending in freshly made pulut hitam dessert into ice cream 😱)
