Yummy waffles in a neighborhood!
A concept cafe filled with books, figurines and everything about The Little Prince. A small cafe tucked away at Somme Road. Croissant (not in picture) is crispy though I wish the taste can be more "memorable". Rose Latte is interesting, I like that. My first!
Flexible service received at The Missing Pan. In the mood of having a plain sweet french toast instead of the usual sweet cum savory french toast that they serve and the server was flexible and quick-witted enough to suggest for the savory fillings to be taken out. Though i find the taste pretty normal, I was pleased with the service offered.
was disappointed with the food after all the highly-raved reviews. Coffee is not bad though.
Wanted to try their Yam Cake but it was sold out by the time I got there. :( Got the Root Beer Cake and Mocha while the rest had their Tea. Hmm... Nothing on that table impressed us. But the place has great atmosphere. Like that it has this clean look and lotsa greens around. Perhaps will go back to try their Yam Cake before deciding if it is on my "can go back" list.
Experience overflowing sweet decadence at this quirky Halal cafe/ customised cake boutique/ academy. At Cafe Fest, indulge in their most popular flavours of cakes, cupcakes and macarons. Since you're already there, forget that diet and just indulge.
This really hip-looking cafe shows no trace of its past; probably the only thing that is obvious was the signboard that is retained from the previous tenant. It takes over an old coffeeshop that had started here ever since the estate was around, which also used to house a rather famed Prawn Noodle stall in here. Other items such as the artwork in the cafe featuring old calendars and a weighing scale in its toilet also gives a nod to the past. Despite so, the menu is rather western, featuring salads, all-day brunch and desserts as well as coffee made using the Throwback blend by Papa Pahelta. Go for the waffles if you are here; the Buttermilk is fragrant at its best even though its not even stated in the menu, and for those interested in savoury waffles they also serve them with Fried Chicken, which is also one of their specialties.
What tips these plush pancakes over the scale from great to alarmingly fabulous is that sticky puddle of salted gula melaka they're drenched in.
There's something about these simple pancakes, which look like quite a mess but taste like heaven. It makes you want to just dig in, making sure each bite is soaked in gula melaka and has the right ratio of perfectly whipped cream. Choose between the Banana and Walnut, and the Cherry and Chocolate. Best shared after you've already had your eggs, what a great way to finish off brunch. Photo by Daniel Food Diary.
Flock is one of those cafes you can rely on for just being good and satisfying, with no bells and whistles. These pancakes are no different, simply served with berries and butter. The ambience is always great here, vibrant without being too loud, and located in a great corner, perfect for dining al fresco. Photo by Shiyin.
