I really enjoyed the octopus with wasabi marinate. Fresh octopus with a nice, hot, wasabi kick. My only gripe would be the portion that was way too small.

Rich lobster bisque with a splash of brandy. Though the brandy taste was not very apparent, the bisque itself was very appetising.

Delicious and hearty duck rice that comes with a bit of a queue at Seah Im Food centre. The rice was on the greasier side, while the duck meat was lean but tender. The gravy slathered all over had more herbaceous undertones while still being very savoury. The soup at the side was way too salty though.

Cheese based pizza topped with lamb confit, jalapeรฑo and pecorino. The wood fired sourdough pizza was delightful. The sourdough base was light and fluffy, and the crust was charred nicely. Itโ€™s the kind of pizza youโ€™d wanna wipe out, instead of just leaving the edges out. Personally have not experienced cheese based pizzas much, but the flavours here were pretty decent, with the portion of lamb confit satisfactory.

Roasted cauliflower dashed with Dukkah Spice, wasnโ€™t to my palate and cauliflower wasnโ€™t very well executed, especially as I was hoping it couldโ€™ve been more roasted.

Pork sausage, with tomato ketchup and curry powder. Not the best especially when the tomato catsup and curry powder was a bit overwhelming and in your face, and the texture of the sausage was a bit too soggy.

This was naan other than mind blowing - the fluffiness and the greasiness of the flatbread paired so well with the thick gravy of the butter chicken. This classic combination of butter chicken and naan really is to die for, but I guess itโ€™s relatively inaccessible location in Sentosa may not give Royal Taj the recognition it deserves.

Actually a really delicious bowl of butter chicken. There was a nice thick enough consistency to the gravy which paired wonderfully with the naan. You can really taste the creaminess and nuttiness in the sauce, and what set it apart was actually how spicy it was, compared to most of the butter chicken dishes Iโ€™ve tried. Considering the location and ambience, I thought this dish was pretty worth it, considering the portion of chicken breast inside.

Stumbled upon Hak Kee Food, a little coffeeshop stall located along Upper Paya Lebar Road selling dishes from claypot curry chicken to Bak Kut Teh to prawn noodles and to pig intestine soup. With a variety that doesnโ€™t seem to match your usual coffee shop stall, what Hak Kee guarantees is their soupy, hearty, and homely dishes that will surprise you. The claypot curry chicken was rich, creamy, and spicy. Easily one of my favorite curry chickens out there, especially with its affordability and relatively generous portion. Seems like a hidden gem which some regulars go to, especially since it is pretty out of the way. But if you work around the area, Iโ€™d recommend trying!

Japanese fusion bento that comes in different sizes, with the Dai Bento pictured being the large size. With the exception of the no protein option, the bentos come with the option of 1 protein, 2 bases, 5 sides, 1 dressing, and 1 sprinkler. And to me, that was a lot to make it a full meal for an ordinary-sized eater. The wide variety of options you get in your meal is a huge bonus, but the best thing you can do for yourself is to go for the yuzu chicken as your protein. It was juicy, succulent, sweet, and tangy all at the same time. On the other hand, the seemingly unhealthier chicken tempura is also a popular choice. The chicken tempura had a nice crunch, yet it was not too oily. Toriten offers a good variety of sides, with unique options like spicy barley and coconut cauliflower. I did think that the sides and bases they offered were all decent in complementing the protein. This bento is made even more worth it with Burpple Beyondโ€™s deal - I mean, 2 of this for just $11.90? You could just eat one for lunch and keep the other for dinner, especially since itโ€™s just a takeaway option hereโ€ฆ or eat both in one sitting if you will๐Ÿ˜‚

Thank you Burpple for having me over!โšก๏ธ

Wanted to try their army stew but it was sold out early. Went around peak hour and there was quite a queue outside the shop. Pretty decent spicy soft bean curd stew. A good amount of spiciness, but I thought it was lacking a bit in flavour, perhaps because I went for the dumpling option. One can only hope that the seafood option wouldโ€™ve made it slightly more flavourful!

Scallops with a nice dash of pesto atop. Each scallop was well executed, with a slightly charred exterior yet still being very tender. Have to say that itโ€™s not the most affordable starter though.
