Dining at Tomidou was an amazing experience! The service is top notch and both the service staff and the chef were very welcoming. The staff made sure to clarify all our food allergies before starting the meal.

Each dish was skillfully prepared by the chef directly in front of us and a quick introduction to each dish was given to us by the service staff which better helped us understand the different elements put together to present that one dish.

Chef Akira also personally explained to us different combination of consuming a single dish to get a variety of flavors.

Personally loved the charcoal grilled mackerel as I was blown away by the combination of flavors between the grilled mackerel and the vinegar soaked kelp.

Overall an amazing experience and will definitely be back again to try more of chef Akira’s creations!

Have walked past the shop previously while in holland v but did not try as there was a queue.

Came on a weekday noon for lunch and it was relatively empty. We ordered the oden, gimmari and galbi beef. Oden came in a small kettle on a stove hence it was hot throughout the meal. The peppery soup would be great on a cold day. Only downside to this is that we came on a relatively hot day and even though the store had all 3 air cons running, there is no door to separate the indoors from the outdoors and the corner we were sitting in was pretty warm. Together with the stove in front of us it was a little too warm for comfort.

The galbi beef was well seasoned and loved that it was sliced into thin portions so it was not tough to chew. Their portions were also generous as 2 of us were unable to finish the beef and had to have the rest for takeaway.

The menu had a good selection of drinks and interesting flavours of highball like earl grey which unfortunately I had to give a miss as I had work later. Would definitely be a good spot to hang out with friends over drinks at night after work!

Have been wanting to try Niu Dian since it opened. We went on a weekday lunch and didn't even need to queue. The restaurant gave off casual vibes and it would be a great place to hang out with friends for either lunch or dinner. The menu had a variety of options of beef with either rice or noodles and a good selection of side dishes.

We got the spicy pepper dry beef noodles as well as the premium braised combination beef noodles. We paired it with some kimchi and cucumber as well as bubble tea from palace tea just directly beside it.
Spicy pepper dry beef noodles is a great option for those who are not too keen for the soup noodles and it comes with a small bowl of soup at the side. The pepper does pack a punch but it is very flavourful and goes well with the iced milk tea. I love being able to customize the firmness of the noodles to my liking. The portions are generous and the beef was mega tender.

Overall a great experience and will definitely be back to try other items on the menu!

Was a queue for the food but even with the long line, the staff was super patient and did not rush us throughout the meal. Portions were generous, the ngoh hiang was freshly fried and the claypot soup pipping hot. Strongly recommend trying the crispy prawn cracker. It is totally not something we were expecting for a prawn cracker but it was a pleasant surprise. We enjoyed it so much that we ordered extra for takeaway.
The prawn soup was very rich and the prawns used were big and fresh. We ordered the dry noodles and it comes with fried shallots and pork lard which tasted amazing with the noodles. The sauce for the noodles were just right and not too salty to pair with the claypot soup. A great place for warm soup on a rainy day and will be back again if I’m in the area.

Went on a weekday evening with friends. Was greeted the moment we walked in and the staff around was really helpful to make sure the dishes were to our liking.

The atmosphere was cosy and quiet - good for hanging out with friends after work or having a meal with the family.

Was very fascinated by the variety of tea they offered. Tried kyo breakfast tea and it had a very intersting flavour. Would totally come back to try the other tea options offered!

For appetizers we had the quesadilla. It is a must try as the flavour of the pulled pork was fantastic and they were very generous with their cheddar.

For mains we had the original prok ribs as well as the three little pigs burger.
The ribs were well cooked and the meat was falling off the bone tender. It goes really well with the pickled celery which is very refreshing. The pickled celery here is pretty unique as it has a strong spices taste which I enjoy and I rarely find elsewhere.

The burger is a good alternative to the pork ribs, with generous portions of spam, bacon and pulled pork. The side of fries which came with the burger was also freshly fried and crispy.

Serving portions are on the large side here - we even had to takeaway some of our food.

In all a satisfying meal and will be back again to try the other flavours of ribs.

Dropped by Fat Belly with a friend on a weekday night.
Love that it is located in a relatively quiet area near Botanic Gardens. Great place to hang out with friends after work. Staff around were very friendly and I loved the open kitchen concept where we can see our food being prepared.

To start off, we got the toasted sourdough bread and the fresh Italian burrata cheese. The burrata cheese is a must get - light, creamy and slightly tangy from the balsamic vinegar. Goes great on top of their sourdough bread.

For mains, we had their 2GR full blood wagyu MS 6/7 Denver as well as the auskobe wagyu MS 4/5 Deckle, together with sauteed thyme mushroom medley and charred broccolini as sides. The beef was perfectly done - nicely charred outside while still tender and juicy inside. It was flavourful enough that we did not even need much sauce over it.

Did not expect much from the 2 sides but was pleasantly surprised by the charred broccolini. Loved the flavour of the pink peppercorn and it goes really well with the steaks.

For dessert, we got the american cheesecake. Plating was gorgeous with a flake of gold leaf on top. Love the combination of cheesecake and passion fruit gel as the sourness of the passion fruit helped to balance out the sweetness of the cake.

Overall a great dining experience and would totally visit again to try other dishes!

Came with friends on a weekday noon for lunch.

Once inside we were immediately greeted with a welcome drink. It was slightly sweet, carbonated and super refreshing on a hot day.

We ordered the truffle fries, beef cheek ragu and the foie gras miso. Service was fast and the staff were friendly. Ambience was great with well decorated walls for photo taking. Good place to come with friends after school/work and on non-peak hours seemed like quite a good place to get some work done too.

Food wise, the truffle fries were freshly fried and had a strong truffle taste which we were very impressed by.

The foie gras miso is also very unique. Loved the eastern-western fusion of flavours. The foie gras was nicely seared with a strong nutty flavour which complements the miso sauce well.

Overall a great food place. Would come back to eat again if I'm in the area.

Dropped by on a weekday evening and did not have to wait at all. The décor is very unique and the ambience is great for hanging out with friends. Staff was polite and quick to respond whenever we needed assistance.

We ordered the fresh whole squid, crispy pork belly and Sichuan mala fish. The dishes were flavorful but not too heavy. The crispy pork belly goes really well with the mustard dipping they provided and I was pleasantly surprised that it remained crispy all the way towards the end of our meal.

The fresh whole squid is a must try! The dish looked relatively bland when served but I was surprised by the flavor when I tasted it. Love the savory sauce they drizzle in and the fried garlic gave it an extra fragrance.

They seem to have a great variety of cocktails too which I would love to try next time!

This is my first time at an Izakaya and this place met all my expectations. It is a very cozy place with great ambience, fantastic option for grabbing a drink with friends after work. Loved the decor.

We ordered the Agedashi tofu, Gyu ponzu, ika shiokara, tori karaage and an assortment of their skewers.

The gyu ponzu is a must try! We did not expect it to be a cold dish but were nonetheless very impressed with the taste. Beef slices were very tender and the fish roe gave it an additional texture when mixed together. The ponzu sauce provided the dish some tanginess which made it very refreshing.

The skewers and karaage were all freshly grilled/fried and was pipping hot when served. Personally would recommend to try the beef skewers as it is super tender and flavourful, with a slightly charred taste.

The staff there were also friendly and enthusiastic, always topping up our tea before it was empty.

In general Shukuu Izakaya is a great place with a good variety of items on their menu. Would definitely recommend this place to friends and family! 😁

Great customer service and good ambience. Good option for dropping by after work with friends.

Love the unique food combinations provided. Their crispy pig's ear is a must try.

For the mains we had the Waygu MS6/7 Zabuton and Wagyu MS 8/9 Rib cap. Both were done perfectly and goes well with the grilled mushroom and beef heart tomato sides. The serving portion was also substantial.

For dessert, I was really impressed by the burnt blue cheese cake. The strong taste of blue cheese goes great with their berries sorbet.

Overall a great dining experience and would be back again in future!
