Always loved the tender chicken pieces that comes with the Claypot Rice ($25 for 4 person).

Since I was young I only know of one place to go to when in dire need of satisfying my claypot rice craving and that is Xiang Jiang Chicken Claypot Rice (香江砂煲饭。粥). With my family, we usually order their Chinese Sausage Rice and Claypot Sesame Chicken. I love their sesame chicken which is tender and well marinated with their yummy gravy! And the fragrant waxed sausage is best complemented with the crunchy, charred bits of rice at the sides of the claypot which is really the beauty of the whole dish. #hawkerpedia

The smoothest, the creamiest, award would go to this plate of beauty. If they have fried mantou on the side, I would used them to drip and clean up the plate. The smell of the curry leaves and salted egg was so divine, ignited and wetted my appetite, and the colour was so inviting. The meat was so succulent, and clean and fresh. Dip that into the sauce and you will definitely go mmmmmmm ☺️

And we ordered them all in 3 different styles. My parents felt that despite the large number of garlic cloves surrounding the crab parts, the taste was actually a bit lacking. The chilli crab was exceeded my expectations, the sauce was thick, sweet and spicy and you can see that they added a lot of eggs to the mix. My mum commented that they might've been a bit heavy handed on the starch though. Mantous were crispy, dense but surprisingly soft. The salted egg crab was the favourite with loads of the golden buttery yolk enveloping the crab. The regular-sized Sri Lankan crabs were meaty and fresh, each priced at $38 before GST so it's $76 for 3 crabs under the promo 😊
