Rye on Wood (from $8 for 200ml) by Hong Kong’s Young Master Brewery. Hoppy and malty, yet with a delicate sweetness that makes it very drinkable.

These saved my palate from sushi fatigue. Beautifully seasoned cod cakes (there’s burdock and carrot mixed into the fishcake paste) that are lovely with an ice cold green tea (or pint). This is officially my new favourite sushi joint!

Takuan is a Japanese pickled radish that added a lovely crunch to the melt in the mouth silky tuna.

Nigiri aburi at its best - super fresh and thick seafood slices, well seasoned rice, coupled with the characteristic smokey char.

The dish to quell steak cravings. A symphony of robust flavours - think onion purée, tempura shimeji, crispy kale and puffed wild rice. Eat your veggies, ‘cos they taste so good on this plate!

What they describe as tom yum broth tastes a lot more like a tangy, punchy assam sauce - no complaints! This is my favourite dish of the night. So light and easy to eat - this might change your mind if you’ve always found gnocchi to be heavy.

Tossed in tangy Szechuan sour plum powder. This is quite possibly the perfect bar/movie/couch potato snack.

Pockets of mushroom and tofu fried till crisp golden and delicious, slicked with zesty yuzukosho mayo. So good.

Chicken fillet, grilled till smoky yet still juicy, slicked in mentaiko mayo. Need I say more, really?

Tastes like garlic rice. Wish they were more generous with the beef, but this was a tasty, tasty carb option.

With various chicken parts and ribeye, this was tasty enough but considering that my hubby ordered it because he was tempted by the promise of slipper lobster, this was a tad of a letdown. The lobster is the skinny stick right up front.

Super fresh, filled with an abundance of greens - this made the perfect start to an otherwise meaty, smoky meal.
