Spaghetti Vongole ($18) Was rather apprehensive about ordering their pasta at first, but it turned out to be not bad! Their vongole was very tasty because they used a lot of garlic and the oil emulsion clung to the spaghetti well. The clams also weren’t sandy. One of the better vongole that I’ve tried actually!

Zazz Pizza ($26) Their signature pizza, the white-based Zazz pizza, consisted of mozzarella, Australian ribeye, mixed mushrooms, parmesan, truffle cream, arugula, and cherry tomatoes. It was quite unique! Tasted like a truffle mushroom pizza but with cherry tomatoes and arugula to balance it out, along with chunks of Australian ribeye. Although I didn’t mind the meat on it, I felt like the pizza could have done without it.

Parma Burrata Pizza ($36) Went back to Zazz pizza and it didn’t disappoint! The red-based Parma Burrata pizza has generous amounts of parma ham, topped with arugula and parmesan shavings and finished with a creamy burrata in the middle. Their pizzas here are particularly delicious because of how fluffy and bready the crust is, achieved by fermenting the dough for a few days. Despite it’s breadiness, it’s still chewy and quite light, making it the perfect vessel for the pizza toppings. The pizza was a bit too saucy last time I went, resulting in the middle of the pizza becoming soggy, but it was perfect this time. Overall a great experience again! Booked through @hungrygowhere so I managed to get a seat inside (recommended since they have limited seating). What they lack in decor they make up for in the quality of their food. Can’t emphasise how much I like their pizza dough!

So much decadence in a plate. Their egg fried rice ($5.50) was fried to a nice texture and moistness, with robust whiffs of smoke mixed in. The fried pork chop boasts an immaculate crisp which wraps around tender and juicy meat. The tobiko (+$1) is just icing on the cake.

✨King of Fried rice 🇸🇬✨⁣ ⁣ I call this the pork cutlet blanket fried rice, cause the pork looks like a mini blanket over the fried rice. Hahahaah. I love their meat to rice ratio, b/c more meat than rice is always shiokkkk. ⁣ ⁣ When I arrived they had crossed out many items on their menu, the staff told me sold out and what’s left is their XO fried rice. Was quite sad but made do with the only item on the menu. ⁣ ⁣ I lurve the crispy yet tender pork cutlet. It was juicy and had a slight peppery taste as well. I like pepper so I wished they could have added more pepper 🤤🤩 ⁣ ⁣ The rice was moist and fragrant, slightly above average fried rice in terms of taste. ⁣ ⁣ Conclusion: I would revisit this place just for the pork cutlet hahahaha. 🤪🙈😌⁣ ⁣ Picture 1: Feat their XO Fried rice w pork cutlet at $6.80. ⁣ Picture 3: Same dish but +$1 to add Tobiko. 🤩⁣ ⁣ 🍽 is at 6001 Beach Road ⁣ Golden Mile Tower B1-56 S(199589) ⁣ Name is King of Fried Rice. ⁣ ⁣ 🕰 Mon to Fri 11.30am-8.30pm ⁣ Sat: 1.00-8.30pm⁣ Closed on Sundays ⁣ ⁣ #burpple

🅱️ulled 🅱️ork 🅱️urger These days, all the discerning craft beer pubs dish out a plethora of palate pleasing food to accompany their booze bonanza, and Orh Gao Taproom does it exceptionally well, or at least with this here pulled pork burger ($17 before 10% service charge). Built out of a pair of soft, tanned buns that you just wanna bury your face into and eat, a good amount of slightly sweet, slightly sharp purple ‘slaw, and a whole load of pulled pork that’s been smoked for six hours, this burger is a thing of beauty. I was highly concerned that the soft buns wouldn’t be able to hold up against the mountain of saucy pulled pork, but apparently my concern was misplaced as those buns did get a little soggy but were never under threat of disintegrating. The pulled pork was majestically moist and stupendously savoury, and that six hour smoking definitely paid off handsomely. The barbecue sauce the pork was tossed in was all the right amounts of sweet, salty and sour, but it did get overbearing towards the final third of the burger. The purple slaw along with my pint of beer on the side swooped into action, the beer washing down the burger while the slaw provided a refreshing crunchiness to the otherwise soft burger. Boozy beers & brilliant burgers are all that’s needed for a bulking bro, trust me. And Orh Gao certainly do both very, very excellently.

Orh Gao Taproom - Craft Beers Pick from ten rotating craft beers on tap here. Beer enthusiasts will be spoilt for choice, you can even sample the beers before committing to one if you’re feeling overwhelmed! I got the Rouge; a brown ale that features “hazelnuts and brown nectar” which completely hit the mark and delivered on those flavours! I hear their range of beers changes frequently, so you might find your choices completely different when you head down, but I’m sure there’s something for everyone.

[Uni Gallery] - Diners get to sample different varieties of seafood with the Seasonal Sashimi which features a good mix of seafood like the Botan Ebi, Maguro Otoro, Bafun Uni, Ankimo, and Shirako. Harvested from the waters of Hokkaido, Bafun Uni has a much more vibrant and creamier texture to it which we really enjoyed. . [Uni Gallery] - The Uni Tempura Truffle Chawanmushi features a crispy Uni Tempura with shaved winter truffle on a delicate and soft steamed egg custard. The chawanmushi has a pleasant subtle truffle aroma to it which we enjoyed, while the Uni tempura was a unique approach to the creamy uni form we usually have. The Uni is wrapped with seaweed before being fried to a light and crispy texture. . Find out more at https://www.sgfoodonfoot.com/2019/10/uni-gallery-by-oosterbay-plaza.html . Truffle Bacon Mushroom & Tomyum Seafood Truffle Mushroom Bacon Farfalle (but we changed it to Tagliatelle) was creamy and generously cooked with lots of mushrooms and bacon! Tomyum Seafood had a little sour spicy kick with 2 prawns, 2 mussels and a few clams. Very filling as well. Each dish is $17 but with BB 1 for 1, it is $17 for both! Very worth and also happy to announce that service charge & GST are already included. However, do note that Beef Ragu (a pasta dish) is not applicable under BB. Wanted to try that initially. :( Location is a bit out of the way and it closes early at 9pm but would go back again to try other food!

Good Cafe Food #BurppleBeyond 1-1 Chicken Overload $16 Carbonara Farfalle $16 Crowded on a Saturday afternoon. Cafe has warm lighting and soothing ambience. Staffs were friendly and efficient. Chicken Overload is an innovative dish. Fried chicken with mushroom sauce but more like soup? With mash potato and some greens. Chicken was tender and juicy, went well with the mushroom sauce and the mash potato. Combination of flavours was surprisingly pleasant. Dish was very filling too. Carbonara Farfalle was a fairly safe dish, better than average. It was creamy and rich with ample amount of bacon. Mixing the egg yolk from the poached egg with the pasta made it perfect. No GST and service charge. Definitely will be back to try others, one of my favourite Beyond deal.

Hot Buttermilk Chicken I’m back at Chico Loco for dinner as there is a one-for-one deal on Burpple Beyond for mains, sides and drinks😃 The Hot Buttermilk Chicken ($13) is pretty good - the fried chicken is huge, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. It goes well with the slaw, jalapeño, pickled cucumber and hot sauce mayo between two pillowy toasted sesame buns. The Roast Vegetables ($6) consist of roasted beets, carrots and cauliflower topped with a creamy cashew salsa sauce. Love how wallet-friendly and yummy this is:)

Spit-Roasted Chicken My colleague and I decided to pop by Chico Loco for lunch since we have not tried it before. The Chicken Combo Lunch Special comes with spit-roasted chicken ($23 for half, $16 for quarter), coleslaw and a choice of fries or rice. The roasted chicken is surprisingly good - it is flavourful, tender and juicy, and it goes very well with the creamy and slightly acidic Chimichurri yoghurt sauce that we picked from a selection of 5 sauces. The coleslaw consists of green papaya, cabbage, macadamia, mint and chilli, and for some reason, it has a garlicky kick and reminds me of chicken rice. The fries go very well with the spicy chipotle mayo dip as well. We also ordered Chips & Guac ($7) to share, which came with a generous portion of guacamole. Overall, the atmosphere of the fast-casual Mexican restaurant is great, the food is good and the prices are reasonable. Till the next visit!
