Custard Chou Chou Basically an awesome Custard filled donut. They have a variety of French pastries here, and all look damn awesome. The chou chou is Sinful and a must have here at choupinette. Which are basically donuts.

3-Course Dinner \\ Escargot Clean, tender and juicy escargot cooked in garlic parsley butter then served warm. The garlicky sauce is almost as delicious as the escargot themselves! \\ Chicken Fricassee Pieces of chicken meat braised at low temperature with white cream sauce. Served with a side of potato gratin and salad. The chicken was breast meat hence they are a little tough in texture but the light and creamy sauce sort of compensates for the dryness. The rich and creamy potato gratin was good and I wished it came in a slightly bigger share. \\ Brownie with Vanilla Ice Cream Warm and nutty chocolate brownie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. This dessert fell short of expectations. The size of the brownie is quite small in comparison with the scoop of ice cream. The ice cream was icier and lacks a creamy texture. Tanuki Raw🦪 Went to Tanuki Raw last week for Happy Hour and ordered their Lychee Martini ($12), Honey Sake ($12), White Wine ($12), Fresh Raw Oysters ($18 for 6 pcs), Salmon Sashimi ($7 for 5 pcs), Lobster Salmon and Salmon Bao ($5 add on), Spam Fries ($16.90), Impossible Meat and Tofu Rice Bowl ($17.90)!😇 All of these are for sharing with 3 pax and the food and drinks were good! Only thing not to my liking is the white wine as its a bit dry😅 Overall ratings 9/10! Would definitely visit again👍🏻

Truffle yakiniku ($18) 🍱 8/10 Topped with smokey and tender pan-seared short rib and a wobbly onsen egg, this donburi was such a joy from start to finish. The beef was so tender and flavourful that I chewed through each piece one bite and followed it up with a scoop of the savoury rice. I usually don't even finish all the rice in a donburi but Tanuki Raw's signature mixed rice really did it for me -- I finished every last grain!

Vegetarian Beehoon (~$3-$4) Spring roll is crisp with crunchy turnips, zai er is crunchy. The mock meat is decent, beehoon is quite moist and springy! They also have egg noodles if you’re not feeling like having beehoon, it tastes like wedding noodles that is nicely fried too. Cabbage is soft but still crunchy. Another veg beehoon stall to add to my rotation!

Curry Fish Head The best curry i ever had. Like literally the best. The coconut fragrance compliments the spies so good, we actually added another bowl of rice ☺️

Cereal Prawn Never knew vegetarian could be that good! One of my favorites over here ! 😍

Daehwa🥬 Went to Daehwa a few weeks back and tried their ttukbaegi bulgogi stew, kimchi stew, kimbap, and kimchi jeon!😇 Really interesting concept of vegetarian-korean food and price was pretty affordable too (about $15/pax)😄 Overall ratings 7/10! I did like the food but maybe i'm not very used to eating korean food without meat? Felt like it would be tastier without the meat but this is a good try and its relatively healthy too🤣

Kimbap ($12) Visited Daehwa on a Sunday afternoon and it was filled despite the mall being relatively empty as most stalls were closed. One of the first dishes to arrive at our table was the Kimbap. While vegetarian, the dish was not inferior to the ones you get at Korean restaurants. Purple rice grains were used instead of sushi rice. With savory mock meat, avocado, cheese, lettuce, yellow daikon and egg omelette being wrapped by the chewy rice grains, the Kimbap was an umami bomb that kept you going for seconds. A highly recommended dish if you’re at Daehwa!

Mushroom Tangsuyuk coated in a tangy sauce Lastly, I was really impressed by the tangsuyuk! In order to make it vegetarian, they replaced the pork with mushroom, but it was still really tasty! The sweet and sour flavours in the sauce really did go well together. Though the texture of the batter may be a little hard, the sweetness and the umami from the fresh mushrooms within made up for it.

Char Siew Chee Cheong Fun I love their wide variety of CCF here. The skin was smooth and thin. I think abit chewy as compared to the other ones i had. The sauce had the sesame fragrance. Their mains was also quite good as well but portion might be abit small. So it is just nice to add on a plate of CCF for sharing.

Cantonese Comfort Food The queue here on a week day can be very long and most difficult to get a table. The Chee Cheong Fun here is made from steamed rice flour slurry coated on cloth, in order words, Guangdong style. Although it is not too bad, it is a pale shadow of the original restaurant in Guangzhou. The porridge is also average. Star of the lunch was the deep fried meat balls that were still piping hot and crispy on the outside with succulent minced meat on the inside. I think I’ll wait for COVID to go away and go back for my cheong fun fix in Guangdong province.

Wide variety of chee cheong fun! Chanced upon this shop after my Saturday morning workout a few weeks back. As the eatery has half its menu offering a wide range of different chee cheong fun i.e steamed rice roll, I knew I couldn't miss out on this. I ordered the fresh prawn egg roll ($7.50) and to be very honest, I've not paid so much for a chee cheong fun before lol. Didn't think it was especially mind blowing but it was a well made chee cheong fun, with the silky rice roll and crunchy fresh prawns. For those who wants to deviate from the usual char siew or prawn chee cheong fun typically offered in dimsum stalls, this is probably the place to go. Some of the more unique variety of chee cheong fun that caught my eye were vegan roll, pork and liver roll, and beef roll. Rating: 7.5 / 10

Go for their hearty pots 😍 Finally tried @fatbird.sg and I was hooked! Their chicken pot was indeed very comforting and tasty 😍 We had the Large Chicken Pot ($38.80 - 30% off with #burpplebeyond ) and it came MASSIVE. The portion is definitely more than enough to feed 4-6 people, as they gave so much chicken within. The chicken pieces were very tender and well marinated as well. We got the original house special sauce, which was very comforting due to its sweet, savoury and spicy flavours. As the pot mainly contains just chicken and Enoki mushrooms, I highly recommend ordering the vegetable platter ($13.80) to go with it. The platter came with a heaping amount of different vegetable types, including potato and lotus root which were great additions to the broth. For starters, the Salted Egg Yolk Corn ($10.80) is a great sharing dish as it was sweet and savoury; a fun dish to munch on if you do order some beer! Do note that their soup can get quite salty towards the end, and I recommend adding water instead of their broth at the end. Definitely coming back for their hearty chicken pot and massive portions 😍

Claypot Classics [Clockwise from top left] Sliced Potatoes ($1.90) Sizzling Chicken Claypot ($13.80) Tinfoil Enoki Mushrooms ($4.50) San Bei Chicken ($13.80) Claypot dishes were chock-full of meat and the sauces paired nicely with rice ($1.50/portion). We preferred the Sizzling Chicken pot as there were plenty of veges (onions, capsicum, leeks)as compared to the San Bei Chicken which only had chicken chunks and basil. Grilled potato and Enoki sides were great and we loved the generous amounts of garlic served with them.

Char siu siew yoke rice 8nett Siew yoke was quite high quality, skin wasn't too crispy anymore though as it was abit cold. Char siu was also at about half the power of the msia original branch, it's got the very unique almost candy like chewiness but there wasn't enough meatiness and char Overall at this standard it's not bad but not worth travelling for, even if you haven't tried the original branch which is much much better

Crusted Portobello Burger ($27) Known for their coastal cuisine, Tanjong Beach Club serves up pretty decent surf & beach bites great sharing or for yourself! Their Crusted Portobello Burger ($27) is a great example of that! Two thick & juicy portobello slices are breaded & deep fried to create that perfect crust & sandwiches between fluffy buns, smoked cheese, tomatoes, lettuce & with some slight heat from their chipotle mayo + huge portion of fries. This satisfying burger will make you forget that you need meat cause it's just as juicy!

Tanjong burger $30 Soak in the Burberry takeover this month, the sun and sea here. Enjoyed the burger, average sized portion.

Açai Bowl $21. Ingredients are mango, mixed berries, Inca berry confit, hazelnut granola, toasted organic coconut. The hazelnut granola tastes heavenly! This is the BEST Açai I’ve eaten so far! [V]
