Beautifully done pan-seared sea bass accompanied by luscious mash and lightly-spiced florentine ($22++) made for a delicious meal - I’ll be nitpicking when I say the skin of the sea bass could have been a tad more crisp.

They’ve no drinks menu, but what they’ll do is they’d get a bartender to come to you and ask for what you want. We had the rosemary coolers ($20++), a safe choice if you liked something that was mild and slightly on the sweeter side.

The other things we tried included the Shimeji fries which came with homemade cilantro calamansi mayonnaise ($12++) and the sea bass pasta ($22++).

Make reservations, or risk waiting 1 hour to be seated (and another hour to be served)!

This bakery is kinda off the grid but it’s definitely worth the trip! I had the Butter Cinnamon Sugar Toast ($3.50) and the Almond Croissant ($5). The Butter Cinnamon Sugar Toast had a fantastic crispy side and a fluffy centre, along with a generous serving of cinnamon, butter and sugar. The almond croissant was jam-packed with almond paste and lots of almond flakes as well. The price here is on the steeper side, but they make up for it with generous fillings, high quality ingredients and lots of flavour!

This very underrated ice cream shop off Ang Mo Kio Ave 10 serves a kicker of an ice cream!

I’ve tried the Biscoff and Pistachio Nut Ice Cream with their homemade cone ($8). The homemade cone was crisp and fresh, and the ice cream was luscious and not too sweet to overpower the otherwise distinctive flavours. It may be more expensive than the usual, but the big scoops make up for it!

The star of CreatureS is the orh-nee cake ($10). I'm not a fan of yam but the coconut frosting complemented so well with the yam it left us raving! The rest - the Miso Cod ($32) and the Ngoh Hiang and cuttlefish Kueh-Pie-Tee ($24) were good but the hefty price tag will keep us away for a while.

Who can imagine fried cauliflowers would be so awesome? Artichoke perfects the art of making vegetables taste amazing. Balanced and light, this will make any carnivore fall in love. Easily.

There is no place that does better croissants than Les Patisseries. The flakiness of the croissant, coupled with that addictive buttery flavour (and this one comes with a scoop of ice cream!) makes it too irresistible.

Crisp waffles ($8.90) with a good assortment of fruits! The ice cream is so-so (since it's not homemade) but the crispy waffles taste really good!
