Durian shake small 4nett Very strong and concentrated durian. Even tho the shake is smooth the flavour is completely unadulterated Absolutely lovely.

The other stall For some reason I get my fix much less from this stall. It's not intentional. The two famous stalls seem to alternate openings. I don't think I've seen them open at the same time. When I have a craving, it's usually when King Avocado is open.

Go for their dumplings! [QUEENSTOWN, SINGAPORE] I feel like most people might know this stall in Alexandra Village Hawker, but I would like to highlight that after having their dumplings for at least 10 years, their quality is still really good. The must orders are their Chilli Oil Dumplings 🥟 and Fried Dumplings 🥟, both at an affordable $8 per plate. Their chilli oil dumplings are quite spice friendly luckily, making it suitable for most to enjoy. If you need an extra kick, they have more chilli sauce available at the side! The dumplings were very slurp worthy, with quite a sizable amount of filling within. The fried dumplings may not be too crispy on the outside, but the filling inside is so generous. It was meaty and honestly really shiok with the sauce from the chilli oil style! Their noodles are more sub-par actually, but I still got it anyway 😂 The Dan Dan Mian ($5) had quite alot of minced meat, but the sauce was missing some flavour and noodles were too soft. Really recommend the dumplings here, you gotta have them as a side while you get mains from other stalls 😆

Pork Belly in Kakuni Style ($16.9). The pork belly is so tender and it is drizzled with the full flavoured sauce. This is a well balanced dish with the potato foam and onsen egg on the side.

Pork Belly ($16.90) [Bukit Merah] Located in the Salute Coffeeshop, Immanuel French Kitchen needs no further introduction as their Pork Belly ($16.90) dish is such a popular hit that people are willing to travel that far just to have a piece of that melts-in-your-mouth goodness. The pork belly is cooked in kakuni style and served with duxelle mushroom, onsen egg (eggporn alert!) and a velvety smooth potato foam. Croutons, bacon bits and spring onion garnish were added for that additional texture and flavour. When served, break the egg, mix it well before taking each element of the dish and piling them up on a spoon and directing them into your mouth. Warning: this is a highly addictive pork belly dish that will bring you to flavour-town.

Pork Belly I tried this about a year ago, and it's great to see that the standard has not dropped. The pork belly itself is melt-in-your-mouth tender. It isn't too fatty, so it'll still appeal to most people out there. It is also incredibly well-marinated and chock-full of flavour. The accompanying potato foam was smooth and creamy. While this may not appeal to all, I actually really liked the sprinkling of bacon bits, spring onions and croutons- it added a nice crunchy texture to the dish. Sautéed mushrooms were also really well-done. There was also a runny onsen egg, which is always a welcome addition and always makes a dish more impressive. While each item is impressive on its own, the flavours came well together to make for quite the excellent meal. It is a little pricey though, coming in at $16.90, but I would say it's worth a try!

Delicious ice cream flavours Was pleased by the service from this neighbourhood cafe and was even more impressed by their gelato! We had their waffles with 3 scoops of ice cream ($16.60) and we got the Earl Grey Tie Guan Yin, Black Sesame/Goma and Speculoos. The Earl Grey Tie Guan Yin was the best among all, with the floral Earl Grey flavour complementing so well with the fragrance of the Tie Guan Yin tea. Not too sweet and a delightful flavour, this is one ice cream to get here. The Black Sesame or Goma was also very impressive, with a good mixture within with milk flavoured ice cream so that the black sesame does not come out too strong. It is not too grainy as well and the richness of the sesame flavour was just right. The Speculoos flavour was good, not too sweet and you get the caramel flavour you would expect. The waffles were fluffy on the inside and slightly crispy outside. Definitely a good pairing for the delicious ice cream!

Fish beehoon soup Love the broth but prefer the fresh fish slices over this fried pieces.

Fish hor fun This is one of my favourites every time we come as a family. In fact almost every dish we have had here is delicious! A humble Tze char corner kopi tiam but full of live and old timers.

Soup Bombs in a Basket (XLB) The sturdy skin holds up just right, giving way to a comforting burst of warm, soupy goodness. The pork filling is flavourful without being too rich, keeping things light yet satisfying. Not the most refined XLB, but it definitely delivers. Best enjoyed piping hot with vinegar and ginger 》$6

红油抄手 Szechuan Spicy Wanton Soft, plump dumplings draped in fragrant chilli oil that’s more aromatic than numbing. The heat creeps in just right, lifted by a hint of tang for balance. Inside, the pork filling stays juicy and packed with flavour, while that chilli oil delivers just enough kick to keep things exciting 》$7

Xiao Long Bao The skin on these XLB was tender and soft. Although the skin tends to be on the thicker side and not as prettily folded up, it holds the soup and fillings much better. The fillings were well marinated and flavourful with a bursting mouthful of soup in each bite. The broth in the XLB leans on the sweeter side but I like that it's less oily. This is definitely a bang for the buck at just $5.

Madeleines 8+gst 10 tiny ones, it's pricey but we dont really have a choice when good madeleines are so damn hard to Find here. This is literally only the second time in my life ive had crispy ones And crispy they were. I got the orange flavour and the zest comes thru, mostly aroma so thats great. Interior texture was not bad too They freshly bake it, literally. You have to pay before you order, then wait 10mins for them to bake. Or you can try calling ahead as well, it worked for me but thats not the usual SOP apparently

H20 H20 dessert was rly great! Decadent dark chocolate coupled with yuzu sorbet and chocolate mouse. Was a rly layered & complex flavour that I enjoyed

Chocolate H20 Been a long time since I last came here, I remember the menu being a bit fancier last time. The range of desserts is rather limited now. Most of the desserts and cocktails and quite reasonably priced, $12 for a small cocktail, $20 for a full glass, this chocolate dessert was $22. (Theres a min spend of $20/person) The chocolate was really good, light and fluffy, doesn’t get jelak. They even gave us 2 chocolate truffles on the house at the end of the night! The ambiance was nice, pretty spacious and doesn’t get too noisy, a great place to chill and chat.

Wine Connection Tapas Bar & Bistro Back to my favourite place for steak fixed 😌 Always love the atmosphere, food are good and affordable 😍 Here is what we ordered: 🥗𝐓𝐮𝐧𝐚 𝐓𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐢 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐝 ($𝟏𝟗) 👉 Seared Tuna, Mesclun salad, feta cheese, lemon dressing served with spicy Mayo sauce. First time ordering this and is definitely a good appetizer as the taste is spicy and sour. I love the tuna slice and it’s huge too 😍 🍕 𝐇𝐚𝐦 & 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦 ($𝟏𝟖) My all time favourite, the crust is crispy and thin which I love it! Unusual paella... The paella is on the fishy end, and it is unusual that they have such chunky pieces of chickens. This didnt meet my expectations for the usual paella, although the squid and prawns are tender and fresh. The wines definitely made up for it.

7 cheese platter ($59) . Never thought that Ah Pek would like this kind of fancy stuff but Ah Pek did enjoy this pretentious session of good cheese and some wine. There remains more to be learnt about cheese and wine pairings but for starters, maybe get some recommendations from the server 😂

Laurent Bernard @ Portsdown The place is rather isolated on its own, located along Portsdown Road. Had dinner there and their signature drinks is good! Love the refreshing taste which is not too sweet. Good for a place to relax

A Quiet Retreat And Date Spot :) Getting my fix of restaurant week on the last day, taking a trip to the outskirts of Portsdown Road to check out Laurent Cafe. Laurent is a chocolatier and their shop in Portsdown branches out as a French Cafe. Their set menu for restaurant week comes with a 3 course meal going at $25++, and here we have the Duck Leg Confit with Roasted Potatoes and Onion jus. The duck leg was soft and tender, and the taste of the duck was able to shine with light seasoning. However, my only gripe was that it was slightly bloody at the bone. The entire meal was very filling for one person as there was an appetizer (salad or lobster bisque) and a dessert (strawberry ice cream meringue) so overall it was a really affordable and pleasant lunch set. P.S. The hot chocolate here is really good and gao!! Heartiness (portion): 5/5 Tastiness (product): 3/5 Worthiness (price): 4/5 Ambience: a nice retreat in the outskirts of Portsdown amongst Wessex Estate, with colonial architecture and design. A lovely place to chill out and have a nice date, especially at night :)

Laurent Bernard Chocolatier featured here is pure, one of their best sellers. rich, smooth and not too bitter for dark chocolate. slightly pricey, but i would probably come back to treat myself to other cakes once in a while. they serve up main courses too!

Creamier x Able Bagel Collaboration Located among the Colonial building set amidst greenery, back to one of my favourite places for Ice cream with my family. This time, we decided to try something new. ▪️Donut Sandwich with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream & choice of Strawberry Jam or Salted Caramel Sauce, a collaboration between Creamier x Able Bagel (home-based bagel) available for a limited time. ▪️Was recommended to try their bakes-inspired Cinnamon Raisin Cream Cheese Bagel Ice Cream and Golden Waffles with Maple Syrup Ice Cream to go along with freshly baked Belgian Golden Waffles. Still one of the best waffles Creamier has been around for long, but it’s still one of my favorites. The waffles is still crispy and fluffy and their ice creams are just the right amount of sweetness.
