Last of my healthy eating series, Yolo is located at Star Vista and serves very affordable healthy eating options.
.
In particular, I love their cauliflower fried rice! It tastes so good, and is so low in calories! I paired it with herb chicken and mushrooms. The taste was great and portion was generous.
.
This is definitely one of my favourite healthy eating spots. Do try it!

I have been addicted to Yomie’s since they opened in Dec 2019 at Westgate. This is my healthier alternative to bubble tea!
.
I usually order the purple rice yoghurt. There is apparently a long list of health benefits, but I drink it because it tastes so good! The purple rice has a sticky chewy texture, similar to pulut hitam. It blends well with the sweet and creamy yoghurt.
.
I love it and will always be back for more!

Chanced upon this new healthy food stall near the subway at Ng Teng Hospital. In the Jurong East area, I usually go to simply wrapps and stuff’d for healthy salads. This new addition got me rather excited!
.
I ordered the brown rice with rosemary chicken, avocado and eggplant with the 7 spice blend topping. The portion was smaller than expected, and the taste was pretty standard. But I enjoyed the eggplant and the generous avocado serving.
.
All in all, I will probably come back if they have a promotion as the bowl is quite expensive for the portion.

I have been exploring food at One North recently and found this place on Burpple!
.
The food here didn’t disappoint. I had the salad option, which includes one main and 2 sides. I chose the salmon with purple potato and broccoli with a small glass kombucha. I enjoyed the thick slice of salmon and the sweet mashed purple potato! I am not a big fan of the kombucha but no complaints since it came with the set.
.
Overall, it’s a hearty healthy meal and I will definitely be back when I am in need of a detox from all the fried food.

A short walk from Bishan MRT, this unassuming Italian Restaurant is located next to an industrial estate and rows of landed houses along Jalan Pemimpin.
.
It’s a small cozy restaurant, and it was packed on a Friday evening. We ordered the Funghi pizza and seafood linguine.
.
The seafood linguine was tomato based and it was delicious! The seafood was fresh and the pasta was cooked perfectly in the tangy tomato sauce.
.
The mushroom pizza was pretty basic and average. We were slightly disappointed as we heard good reviews about the pizzas. Nevertheless the portion was decent for the price.
.
We ended the meal with a tiramisu, which was not overly sweet and creamy. They didn’t have the durian tiramisu that many raved about. Perhaps this was not the right season for durians. But the normal tiramisu was good enough to make our bellies happy.
.
Overall, an authentic and lovely Italian restaurant that is worth visiting!

Restaurant Week 2019
.
We managed to make a reservation for Burlamacco, an Italian restaurant located near Tanjong Pagar MRT.
.
We were pleasantly surprised by all the dishes in the restaurant week menu. In particular, the lobster pasta was absolutely delicious!
I also really liked both the chocolate tart and date pudding.

Always on the lookout for good tea places to chill, and Grin Affair is definitely one of them.
.
Located under a HDB block near Bishan MRT, grin affair is famous for it’s jar cakes. We really enjoyed both the durian and chocolate banana jar cakes. Grin affair also has a variety of tea at very affordable prices.

On a Friday evening, this place was packed and we had to wait for additional tables to be set up on the pavement.
.
We decided to use the Burpple discount and consumed 40 skewers between 3 people at Taan! Even without the Burpple app, there is happy hour discount at $1.25 per skewer!
.
You get to choose from 5 seasoning. We went with Chinese spice and teriyaki for most of the skewers. Our favourite was the Taiwan sausages. As a veggie lover, I enjoyed the variety of mushroom skewers.

Located at a random corner of the dodgy shopping mall, the restaurant serves generous serving of delicious chirashi don ($26). The fish slices are so thick, at least twice the thickness of the typical sashimi. And they taste so fresh! The chirashi don had a great variety of fishes and scallops, and it leaves you feeling so satisfied. Kudos to the Chef!
