Located at Cavan Suites (near Lavender MRT), this hole-in-the-wall gelato shop is SUCH a hidden gem!!!! Went there not knowing what to expect (and almost gave up walking there cos the location is not the most accessible), but was truly SO amazed!!!
Being in Melbourne for the past few years, my tastebuds have definitely been spoilt by the amazing selection of gelato shops available there, with my favourites being Pipapipo and Gelato Messina. Hence, when I heard about this new shop, I knew I HAD to check it out - after all, Iโm always super picky about my ice cream (especially gelato)!
Given how Pistachio is a signature flavour for gelatos (and what I use to gauge whether a gelato shop is good), I instinctively went for the ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ง๐ญ๐ ๐๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐๐ก๐ข๐จ & ๐๐ข๐ฆ๐๐ฅ๐๐ฒ๐๐ง ๐๐ข๐ง๐ค ๐๐๐ฅ๐ญ (๐๐๐$๐ ๐๐จ๐ซ ๐ฌ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ฅ๐ ๐ฌ๐๐จ๐จ๐ฉ) and WOW it truly blew my mind ๐คค๐คค Honestly, I liked it better than Melbourneโs Pidapipoโs (which is my ultimate fav) - the pistachio flavour was strong, yet not overpowering; and the sweetness level was just right (really liked that it was not as sweet ,since gelato can get jelak after a while)! The gelato was also super creamy and rich and just SO PLEASING to my tastebuds - the Himalayan salt in the gelato was definitely noticeable as well, which complemented the whole taste note of the ice cream! ๐
Overall, this was simply PERFECTION - and Iโll definitely be back for more!!! I also tried a bit of the ๐๐ผ๐น๐๐บ๐ฏ๐ถ๐ฎ๐ป ๐๐ผ๐น๐ฑ ๐๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ & ๐๐ผ๐ผ๐ธ๐ถ๐ฒ ๐๐๐๐๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐๐ถ๐๐ (๐ฆ๐๐$๐ฑ ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด๐น๐ฒ ๐๐ฐ๐ผ๐ผ๐ฝ) and ๐ณ๐ฌ% ๐๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ฎ๐ท๐ฎ ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ธ ๐๐ต๐ผ๐ฐ๐ผ๐น๐ฎ๐๐ฒ & ๐ฉ๐ฎ๐น๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฎ ๐ข๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐ด๐ฒ ๐ฃ๐ฒ๐ฒ๐น (๐ฆ๐๐$๐ฒ ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด๐น๐ฒ ๐๐ฐ๐ผ๐ผ๐ฝ); which were really good as well! The staff at the store were super friendly as well โบ๏ธ And they also told us that they opened just right before the Circuit Breaker period, so their business was immediately affected when CB was announced... so PLEASE SUPPORT THEM!!! #supportlocal @gelatolabo please keep making more gelato hehe Iโll be super willing to taste all the new flavours! ๐

However, the ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ๐ฎ๐ป ๐๐๐น๐ฎ ๐ ๐ฒ๐น๐ฎ๐ธ๐ฎ ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ธ๐ฒ๐ (๐ฆ๐๐$๐ญ๐ต ๐ป๐ฒ๐๐) was quite a disappointment... 3/10 for me given how EXTREMELY expensive it was... โน๏ธ firstly, the pancakes did not taste like pandan at all, which was really disappointing since we only ordered it because it was supposedly pandan-flavoured! but yeah... it was a bad choice because it just felt like they put green colouring into the usual pancakes. the other components did not go well with it either, such as the berries; and the ice cream that came along with it was Pulut Hitam (black glutinous rice) so it was kinda strange. some suggestions I have for this dish would be 1) include some coconut component e.g. swap the pulut hitam ice cream to a coconut ice cream 2) increase the pandan aroma.

As usual, I also took away some cakes from the cafe! ๐ฑ๐ฌ ๐ป๐ฒ๐๐), which I really enjoyed! But it was slightly too sweet towards the end - though I loved the combination of Gula Melaka and salted caramel - 7-7.5/10! My personal favourite was DEFINITELY the ๐ด๐ฌ ๐ป๐ฒ๐๐) - it had the right amount of spice, was moist yet not oily, and was not too sweet throughout the time I was eating it - 8.5/10!

Personally, the highlight of this cafe is definitely COFFEE - especially the ๐ฑ๐ฌ ๐ป๐ฒ๐๐), which I rate a solid 9/10!!! only -1 point is bc its $8.50 for 250ml which is really pretty expensive ๐ Would still go back for it once in awhile though!
I also tried their ๐ฑ๐ฌ ๐ป๐ฒ๐๐) at the cafe itself, and it was really good too - strong, smooth, yet not overpowering! 8/10 from me given how good the cold brew was ๐คฉ
๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ก๐จ๐ซ๐ญ ๐๐ข๐ ๐ ๐๐ญ๐ญ๐ฎ๐๐๐ข๐ง๐ (๐๐๐$๐๐++) was my second dish using the Burpple deal, which I really enjoyed, its a 8/10 for me!! the sauce was pretty unique, and the beefโs seasoning was ON POINT too โจ the pasta was also cooked al-dente, which is my preference ๐คค๐๐ผ overall I rly enjoyed it, but I just wished the portion was a little bigger (especially if youโre paying the full price!)
As part of the Burpple deal, I got 1 ๐๐ข๐ฑ๐๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ก๐ซ๐จ๐จ๐ฆ ๐๐ข๐ณ๐ณ๐ (๐๐๐$๐๐++) that I rate 9/10, which was HUGE (12 inches)!! and I loved the pizza crust omg ๐คฉ๐๐ผ its really not easy finding a good pizza crust that hits the sweet spot between a crispy crust and retaining the doughy texture (that comes with a pizza), PLUS being the right thickness, but LINO absolutely SMASHED IT!! ๐คค๐ they were pretty generous with the toppings too, so overall I was super satisfied the pizza and its worth the price! Only downside was that it got a little too salty towards the end, but it may be because my tastebuds are on the lighter side! and also, i couldnโt taste the truffle cream even though its supposed to be in the pizza heh. but still rly rly well executed!!! ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ would order again!

This newly-opened donut shop in Telok Ayer is my new favourite in Singapore now ๐คฉ๐
We chanced upon @citydonutsg after lunch in the CBD on a weekday afternoon, and i just LOVE all the local flavours infused into these donuts that make them so special! The doughnuts are also FRESHLY MADE and super fluffy which are a huge plus point ๐ The manager of the place, whom we got to talk to for abit, is also super friendly โบ๏ธ
My favourite was no doubt the ๐๐ซ๐ก ๐๐๐ (๐๐๐$๐.๐๐), which is featured on the cover pic!!! This is a solid 9/10 for me! JUST LOOK AT THAT ORH NEE FILLING ๐ฉ๐คค You could definitely taste the orh nee, and the filling was just the right level of sweetness, sweet enough for a donut, but not cloyingly sweet! Only downside was that eating the whole thing alone was abit too much HAHA cos its carbs on carbs ๐ But the second time I shared this with my friends and family, and they all loved it ๐๐ผ
The other crowd favourite was ๐๐ฎ๐ณ๐ฎ (๐๐๐$๐.๐๐), which I rate 9/10 too ๐ It has a distinct yuzu taste, which was really refreshing! Even those who donโt usually like yuzu really enjoyed this donut rendition of the flavour. Somehow, the yuzu helps to lighten the taste of the donut such that it doesnโt feel too jelak even though donuts are usually considered pretty greasy stuff! Another very well executed donut heheh.
I also tried the ๐๐), both of which were really interesting in their own ways - I rate them both 7-7.5/10! For the Ondeh Ondeh, I thought it could perhaps have more elements of coconut! And the filling was slightly too sweet towards the end (though I loved the Gula Melaka ๐คค). The Pulut Hitam was pretty decent too, but I guess I prefer the dessert itself because Iโm not that big a fan of cream (though you can defo still taste the pulut hitam element in the doughnut) โบ๏ธ
While Iโve had my fair share of donuts whether in Singapore or in Melbourne, I really love local flavours - which will make me go back to City Donut for the Orh Nee and Yuzu doughnuts!

Went to @burgerandlobstersg for lunch, and we were surprised that we still had to queue for 40 minutes on a weekday! Definitely shows how popular B&L is after all this time.
For 3 of us, we decided to get ๐๐ก๐ ๐๐ก๐๐ซ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐๐จ (๐๐๐$๐๐๐++) which consisted of a burger, a lobster roll, a 600g lobster, 2 mocktails, and a dessert.
My favourite was no doubt the ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ ๐ข๐ง๐๐ฅ ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ฅ (๐๐๐$๐๐++), which consisted of CHUNKS of lobster meat tossed in lemon mayo ๐คฉ๐คค loved how chonky all the meat was, and the brioche toast was simply PERFECT!!! 9/10 DEFINITELY get this when you go to B & L! Only downside is that its a relatively small portion, but will definitely fill you up if you opt for the fries and salad option (+$6).
Next, we also tried the ๐๐๐ฒ๐๐๐ข๐ซ ๐๐ฎ๐ซ๐ ๐๐ซ (๐๐๐$๐๐++), but this was not anything unlike what Iโve tried at other burger joints - 6/10 - and in fact found it slightly under-seasoned + not as cheesy as expected )-: Would also recommend getting it Medium Rare instead of Medium, as it can be slightly tough (at least for my liking).
On to the star of the show - the Ok so this is actually SO GOOD like maybe i havenโt had much fresh lobster before, but the lobster we had was SO fresh - the meat was SO tasty and sweet!!!! whether steamed or grilled (we got half steamed and half grilled), it was just SO good. but definitely not a pretty sight when we were trying to get the lobster meat out .... ๐คก hence its a 8.5/10 HAHA.
We also got the ๐ & ๐ ๐๐ข๐ง๐๐๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐จ๐๐ค๐ญ๐๐ข๐ฅ (๐๐๐$๐++), ๐๐-๐๐ ๐๐จ๐๐ค๐ญ๐๐ข๐ฅ (๐๐๐$๐++) and ๐๐ก๐๐๐ฌ๐๐๐๐ค๐ ๐๐๐ซ๐ญ (๐๐๐$๐๐++) - these were not bad, but not especially noteworthy. Wouldnโt order them on their own. ๐คญ
Overall, I really enjoyed my visit to B & L, and Iโll be back for the lobster ๐ฆ๐คฉ However, note that if you were to eat lobster, it is quite pricey (was $51nett per pax); also Iโll probably skip the combo next time and get more mains instead ๐ #burgerandlobstersg

Made a trip down to Baristart Coffee for an early dinner, and I really love the vibes of this cafe! Itโs centrally located, yet the lighting and ambience is really on point ๐๐ผ Baristart prides themselves on using Hokkaido BIEI Jersey Milk, which is only produced by about 1% of cows in Japan!
We tried the ๐๐๐ข๐ก๐ข๐ซ๐จ ๐๐ฎ๐ญ๐๐๐จ๐ง (๐๐๐$๐๐.๐๐+) as well as the ๐๐จ๐ค๐ค๐๐ข๐๐จ ๐๐๐ซ๐๐จ๐ง๐๐ซ๐ (๐๐๐$๐๐. Safe to say, the Butadon was my favourite - would rate it a 7/10! Just LOOK at those beautifully placed slices of pork ๐คค The generous amounts of meat, coupled with the savoury & sweet Teriyaki seasoning really was to my liking. However, I did find some slices of pork to be slightly too tough - so just something to take note.
On the other hand, the Hokkaido Carbonara was kinda an overhype.. โน๏ธ thought it wouldโve been really cool to try a carbonara pasta cooked with Hokkaido milk + its one of their featured dishes, but heh honestly think this dish left much to be desired... think it does have quite some potential though so hm Iโll say overall like 5/10.
And to end off our meal, we had the super cute Except uhm the one we got was kinda disfigured and looks like its v sad even though we kinda ordered it for the gram ๐คฆ๐ปโโ๏ธ... HAHAHA but it does taste pretty good!! Basically like a typical bingsu, but hm nothing too unique about it other than how cute it looks. Though I must give credit for the super yumz Hokkaido Milk drizzle so 6.5-7/10 (?)
Overall, I may return for the butadon, but not really sure if itโs worth the trip down. But maybe Iโll try it again one day if Iโm in the area - or if Iโm looking for a place with nice ambience and coffee โบ๏ธ

๐๐ก๐ ๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ง๐๐ฒ ๐๐๐ญ๐๐ซ๐ง๐จ๐จ๐ง ๐ญ๐๐ (๐๐๐$๐๐++, ๐ข๐ง๐๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ข๐ฏ๐ ๐จ๐ ๐ ๐๐ก๐๐ฆ๐ฉ๐๐ ๐ง๐ ๐จ๐ซ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฌ๐๐๐๐จ) at the Ritz-Carlton Millenia Singapore (@ritzcarltonmilleniasingapore) that I had awhile back was truly an experience โบ๏ธ
The afternoon tea experience comes with savoury bite-sized dishes served in a really pretty five-tier tiffin (swipe right to see) ๐ it also includes unlimited servings of a wide selection of both local and Western desserts - which is perfect for those with a sweet tooth ๐ the menu also changes from time to time, so if Iโm not wrong, its already different now!
Personally, the highlight was the desserts (esp. the local dessert selection) & the quality was really good! The savoury items were great too, but portions were relatively small for the price, and I think it wasnโt anything super note-worthy (though I definitely enjoyed it)! I also think the ambience and experience makes up for it, and thank you to the staff for their impeccable service! โจ
Will definitely return to Colony for its quality tea-time treats, but probably only when thereโs a special occasion given the price - especially given the charming ambience ๐คฉ

found this gem of a place thanks to a friendโs recommendation, and we really LOVED the food here!!
Came here for the ๐๐ซ๐๐ ๐๐ ๐ ๐ซ๐ข๐๐ ๐๐ข๐๐ (๐๐๐$๐๐), and it was SO GOOD!!! like actually rate it a 10/10 ๐ญ๐คฉ this dish was SO well executed; a basically perfect fried rice, one of the best iโve had. all the components goes so well together in terms of taste and texture; and the portion is rather generous as well!!! the first thing that hit me when this dish was served to us was the wok-hei ๐๐ผ and the seasoning was totally on point too (loved the generous amount of XO sauce, yet not overpowering), and the texture was further enhanced with the addition of tobiko fish roe!! and just look at that MOUNTAIN of crab meat ..... so so good rly ๐๐๐ผ actually craving the fried rice while typing this... but yeah only thing to note is the portion is quite a lot and can be quite carb-heavy/jelak, so do share it with a friend and order a non-carb dish especially if youโre a small eater!
Next, the ๐๐ง๐ ๐ค๐๐ซ ๐๐ซ๐๐ฐ๐ง๐ฌ (๐๐๐$๐๐/๐-๐๐ฉ๐๐ฌ) was REALLY good too ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ prawns were seasoned with shio kombu, burnt butter and garlic, and was super fresh and well-executed!!! ๐คฉ and tip: the burnt butter goes SUPER well with the fried rice so if you order both, donโt forget to leave some of the butter for your rice!!
only downside is that prices are slightly steep (expect to spend ~$25/pax) but NO REGRETS will definitely return!!!! do go give this place a try, especially if youโre in the CBD โจ #chichidiningsg

been going to Tanuki since its early days as a small outlet at Orchard Central back in 2015, and my favourite ๐๐++ ๐๐จ๐ซ ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ง๐๐ก) is still well-executed after all these years! The truffle aroma is relatively subtle compared to what I would prefer, but the beef is well-cooked, so iโll say its pretty good for the price. The portions are also reasonably generous.
Also love the onsen egg on the top, which definitely goes super well with their seasoned sushi rice! I am not usually a big fan of rice, but the rice at Tanuki is my weakness......
All in all, definitely a place Iโll always visit whenever I am around the Orchard area and canโt think of anywhere to eat - this is perfect for a meal with a budget < $20 ๐คฉ
