Was lucky enough to get a last minute reservation here on a Saturday night. Had the calamari, meatballs, spinach & ricotta tortellini, prawn & bacon pizza and tiramisu.. The dishes were all pretty good, would score them each a 7/10 at least!!! Generous portions. Prices range from $15-$27 for the pastas, most hovering around $20. Also ordered some wines on the side which brought the bill up to $110 after beyond 1-for-1. 10/10 would visit again.

Came here with little expectations tonight but this place proved me wrong!

Don't be disappointed if they're sold out of the lobster bowl because this anago bowl is a clear winner in its own right too. Every single element in the bowl from the fermented tomatoes to the bamboo was delicious, and even more so when mixed together.

The acidity of the fermented tomatoes and watermelon radish makes the overall taste of the rice bowl really pop. Save some for when you pour the broth in halfway through your meal!

Flaky crust with a generous filling of minced beef stewed in a japanese curry sauce. Don’t be misled by the plain exterior of these pies, each pie packs a punch with cheesy mozzarella layered below the crust.

I had mine 4 hours later, but if you wish to consume it immediately, the pie comes nice and piping hot.

The truffle beef pie is also really good, creamy with generous chunks of beef, and you can smell the truffle as you cut through the crust and devour it - I wish they made it in a larger size.

The larger sized pies are definitely a substantial enough portion for lunch.

It’s a shame people don’t give this stall time of day due to the popularity of the KOI stall next to it 😕

MBS has a social hour on Tuesdays where some of the cocktails at their restaurants go for 50% off. On this particular Tuesday, we were here to have our last meal at Pizzeria Mozza because the damn chef-owner couldn’t (allegedly) keep his hands on the pizza dough and off his employees.

But, I digress.

After trying a few discounted cocktails, we decided it was time to start living life large by ordering an off-menu Bloody Mary. The bartender explained that they concoct their own tomato juice and offered us a taste. Chili-padi spicy, while lacking the consistency of congealed blood typical of carton tomato juices? Check.

I spent the next half an hour sipping on my heavily spiked tomato juice and pausing to “inhale, exhale” (except this wasn’t a yoga class). Generous pour of alcohol? Check.

Bartender also secretly offered us extra servings of the olives which were stuffed with blue cheese. Great service because who doesn’t like freebies? Check.

In conclusion: One of the better Bloody Marys I’ve had but probably not for the faint-hearted. If you’re into Bloody Marys which are more viscous, this is probably not for you either. Also, sit by the bar.

Have given this place a miss many times because it’s always only a quarter full. Being Singaporean, I rationalize that if there’s a queue, means it must be good, right? And the opposite applies. #fomonation

So anyway, no idea what possessed me to try this today but it was LEGIT GOOD. Let’s break it down into the individual components.

1. Grilled pork: Well seasoned, juicy and moist.
2. Radish/Carrots: Well-pickled for a touch of acidity.
3. Vegetables: Hallelujah they chop their lettuce up and boil their tau gey for carnivores like me.
4. Spring rolls: This was the only so-so part of the dish. But on the plus side they included yam as part of the filling which brought back memories of eating along the streets in HCM.

Lastly, parts 1 to 4 were topped off with some seriously crispy shallots and peanuts. 🤪

Yep, I’ll be back pho sho.

Definitely got lots of attention from the neighbouring tables, so much so that one of our neighbours walked over to ask us what we ordered.

Taste wise: recommend trying this at least once. Veggies, pork floss and scallop are wrapped up and deep fried, mayo is dabbed on the outside and wrapped again in an egg roll wrap. It’s a little on the sweet side, and oily, but interesting nonetheless.

Lightly seasoned tuna belly chunks on rice seasoned with furikake, tobiko, and truffle oil. Other ingredients were japanese pickles, wakame (seaweed), and chuka kurage (seasoned jellyfish). The rice was so tasty, we finished every grain of it. All bowls served at this joint come with their truffle rice aside from the curry bowl. Price-wise, this was the highest-priced item on the menu and most bowls ranged from $9 to $15. The outlet has a small bar and some tables and chairs along the corridor for dine-in. 10/10 would return
