Xiangโ€™s Signature specialises in Hunan Cuisine, known for its liberal use of garlic, shallots and chili peppers and generally characterised as being gan la (ๅนฒ่พฃ; gฤn lร ; "dry and spicy"), as opposed to Sichuan cuisine, to which it is often compared, with its distinctive ma la (้บป่พฃ; mรก lร ; "spicy and numbing") flavour combination. Delicious, moist, tender, and crazy delicious cod fish marinated with sweet Japanese miso paste. Ishinomaki remains as my favourite Japanese restaurant in Singapore, never failing to satisfy when Iโ€™m in need of Japanese comfort food ๐Ÿ’•. ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹

The main objective of steaming fish is to taste the delicate sweetness of a fresh fish and Extra Super Tanker does this brilliantly. The accompanying sauce served to enhance the enjoyment of the firm but easy-to-flake flesh of the fish with its umami fragrance, easily convinces you to add another bowl of rice ๐Ÿš .

Cotton Candy Coffee is a creative and simple way to sweeten your morning cup of joe. Suspend a big blob of cotton candy above your hot coffee and slowly watch the steam evaporate the candy into little droplets of sugar that lightly drizzle into your cup ๐Ÿคฃ. Since moving to Singapore, this has been a must-go brunch place every time Iโ€™m back in Malaysia. The flesh of their steamed chicken is succulent and juicy with little fat, and for those who enjoy chicken skin, I understand that the plump and smooth yellow chicken skin (which only comes from free-range village chicken) is incredible. Other must-haves are their dry mixed hor fun with crispy pork crackling and shredded chicken meat and, their homemade bouncy and springy fish paste balls steeped in a light sweet broth ๐Ÿ’•. ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹

INDOCAFEโ€™s version is packed to the brim with five-spiced lean pork meat, wrapped in soy bean curd skin and deep fried till crispy ๐Ÿ˜‹. Definitely pair it with their sambal belachan (shrimp chili paste) ๐ŸŒถ which comes in a cute little colourful pot ๐Ÿ’•.
