Tiramisu Soufflé Pancake [RM14.30]⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
✨: Fluffy, light, and perfectly sweet, these soufflé pancakes from Soffle were a pleasant surprise to the senses. I definitely recommend the Tiramisu version, which features a delightful coffee cream along with the cloud-like pancakes. ⁣

💬:⁣ Definitely on the pricier side, but I’ll justify my purchase with the extensive and difficult cooking process involved. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
Soufflé pancakes are a must try if you haven't had one in your lifetime! ⁣

Dry Duck Noodles ⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
✨: As a whole, I enjoyed the dish. The herbal soup, I heard, is an acquired taste. A giant duck leg which was fall-apart tender accompanied my bowl of noodles. ⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣💬: My understanding is that the herbs and the duck make the dish very ‘windy’/inflammatory (很惹风) so it’s best to not have it too regularly. Also, that it isn’t half as good as it used to be 🤣⁣
⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Though I did enjoy this meal, I won’t find myself craving for it. ⁣

Egg Mayo Croissant Sandwich; Burnt Cheesecake; Hojicha Latte; Lemon Curd Financier.⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
✨: NEA’s minimalistic white and forest green interior makes for a great photo as well as a relaxing environment to be in. I thoroughly enjoyed all the food I had. The croissant was flakey and crisp, as a good one should be. I especially liked that the burnt cheesecake was on the saltier side (it would be perfect if there was more of a textural difference between the crust and the inner part of the cake). ⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣💬: In terms of the drinks, I was thrilled at Niko Neko matcha being offered. However, I feel there is room for improvement as there was an obvious separation between the hojicha and the milk. Prices here can get a little steep too (sorry forgot the pricing so it isn't listed 😅).⁣

⁣⁣⁣
Definitely want to be back :) ⁣

Perhaps this can mark the start of a vege series here LOL⁣

Veggie Burger [RM19.50]⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
✨: To my surprise, Nando’s vege option turned out great! The patty composed of black beans, carrots, and other greens, and made for a nice pairing with the tangy peri-peri sauce. ⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣💬: Though the menu description mentioned a yogurt sauce, I barely tasted or took notice of any. I reckon as well that the burger would be fine (or even better) without the top bun. All it added was additional dryness to my bites. ⁣
⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Would happily order this again if the situation calls for a vegetarian meal! ⁣

Wild Mushroom Fried Rice [RM11.90]⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
✨: My new found love at Mama Kim (sorry Sauna Mee). Every mouthful is a flavour bomb of egg, soy sauce and naturally sweet veggies. I especially enjoy the stringy enoki mushrooms that soak up all the dish’s flavour + provide a nice chew to the dish. ⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

Try it for yourself and you’ll know what I mean! It isn’t like any regular fried rice, that I can guarantee. ⁣

Shrimp Fried Rice [RM17.90]⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
✨: Din Tai Fung’s fried rice has got to be one of my favourite foods. The plump crystalline shrimp nicely complements the fragrant egg fried rice. Every grain of rice wears a charred golden coating, is distinct from each other, yet perfectly moist. This is comfort food 😭💗. ⁣

Basically the valedictorian of fried rice university 🤓 I'll make it a life goal to replicate it... one day...⁣

Vegetarian Banh Mi [RM14.50; RM17.30 (w/ tax)]⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
✨: It was nice to see a veggie option on the menu. This tofu banh mi was what enticed me to dine here anyway. ⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣💬: Was sadly really disappointed though. The menu described a tofu patty with mushroom pate, but what I got was more of a tofu and mushroom mince (as pictured). It could be my misinterpretation but nonetheless, my expectations were let down. The bread, too, could not salvage the dish. It was almost too crispy and hollow. For the price that I paid, too, I’d rather get a Subway sandwich (says a lot LOL). ⁣

Chloe's Earth Burger (Pistachio and bean patty + guac + fried sweet potato) ⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
✨: Was so surprised to see a vegan option at KGB of all places! Did not expect my first burger from them to be a plant-based one. I especially loved the addition of the fried sweet potato (genius or whurt) which made up for the lack of textural bite from a traditional meat patty. The black bean and pistachio patty made for a hefty and fulfilling burger as well. ⁣

⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣💬: I did find the monstrosity to be a little dry midway through the burger, though. The guacamole and the patty were both heavy and mushy in consistency. A little element of freshness or crunch to cut through the richness would have been amazing. ⁣

⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
Will be back for more, especially traditional meaty offerings :)⁣

Veggie Spring Roll with Vermicelli ⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
✨: Spring Rolls with Vermicelli remains one of my favourite Vietnamese dishes for how zesty and refreshing it is. The crispy spring rolls are the star of the dish while the veggies and rice noodles soak up all that appetizing sauce. Any heaviness typically present in fried foods is undercut by the fresh zing of the rolls’ accompaniments. ⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
I definitely wouldn’t say Pho Vietz serves the most authentic Vietnamese fare but I do get a good meal out of the establishment every time I dine here! ⁣

Big Grey Wolf (Charcoal Waffle, Earl Grey Ice Cream, Salted Caramel)⁣ [RM21]
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
✨: I love a good waffle topped with ice cream, and Fluffed delivers just that. The charcoal waffle not only had a crisp shell and fluffy insides, but also a fragrant buttery, salty-sweet flavour. So even on its own, the waffle holds strong ground. The warm waffle contrasting with the cool ice cream simply ups the dish's game. ⁣⁣

💬:⁣ This would be perfect if only the salted caramel was dispersed evenly throughout the waffle. In my waffle's case, the caramel was pooled in the centre which made a few bites overpoweringly sweet. Wouldn't have minded if there was an extra scoop of ice cream too 😂 ⁣⁣

Good company, sweet treats, a cozy space; what more can one ask for? ⁣⁣

Charred Okra [RM16]; Red Prawn Spaghetti [RM39]; Fried Chicken (half) [RM24]⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
🍗: The perfect fried chicken: airy, crispy, perfectly seasoned skin and juicy, tender flesh. Unlike most fried chickens, there wasn't an overpowering greasiness present in Table and Apron’s. In fact, it was almost clean and elegant tasting.⁣

🍝: The pasta was deceivingly refreshing. The addition of lemon to the oil-based pasta made the dish a perfect palate cleanser for the fried chicken. Paired with the juicy, roe-filled prawn and unique fragrance of the daun kesom, it’s undoubtedly one of my favourite pasta dishes now. ⁣

🌿:⁣ The okra was the show stopper of the meal. It was my first time seeing the vegetable prepared in such fashion-- grilled to perfection, coated in the most delightful sticky, dark sauce, and perfected with a tangy chimichurri. ⁣

Not exaggerating when I say I cannot wait for my next visit 😩

Jamaican Chicken Sandwich [RM11]; Egg Mayo and Ham Sandwich [RM10]; Truffle Mushroom Sandwich [RM12]⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
✨: I particularly enjoyed the bread used to make the sandwiches, which was lightly toasted and warm. My favourite of the lot was definitely the truffle mushroom, though I wouldn’t call it by it’s name. Rather than tasting of truffle, it tasted more of the sweet white onion combined with the shitake mushrooms. The use of shitake over button mushrooms took me by surprise as well. Disregarding the name, I really enjoyed the sandwich. ⁣

For its close proximity to my home, I’ll definitely be seen around here. ⁣
