Horrible Experience My friend ordered a medium rare steak and all she have gotten was a rare steak, the steak was so horrible, the outer layer was way too charred and the inside was rare! Despite the replacement, the outer layer of the steak still remained v charred. Besides that, we even order a glass for sangria each, their house pour wine was soooo bad that sangria was so difficult to swallow and it not longer sweet as it was supposed to taste like!

Not Coming Here Again - At Least Not For The Pizza I dropped by a year ago and my mother wouldn’t shut up about the pizza I doggy bagged home. Finally had the time to pop by and I picked up 2 pizzas - to my horrific surprise, they were really badly made - look at the distribution of ingredients, and flat out tasted of nothing. No flavour. Severely lacking salt - the dough was also raw at the bottom. Any pizza chain or frozen pizza would’ve been a much better choice. The mains looks far better and if I go back, I’ll be staying far far away from the pizza

Roast Irish Duck Super succulent and moist, the Roast Irish Duck ($22/ Quarter) was another hit. A tad fatty and heavy but the glistening skin had that lovely crackling crispiness. One to share among 3 to 4 people, the protein was really well-executed. Would go great with a steaming bowl of rice.

Wagyu Truffle Beef Hor Fun In the mood for fancy hor fun, The Dragon Chamber’s Wagyu Truffle Beef Hor Fun ($32) ticked all the right boxes for me. Doused in a copious amount of rich truffle gravy; the slurpy noodles were so moreish. The wok fried flat noodles, crispy deep-fried hor fun strips, silky poached egg and slices of premium US Wagyu short rib came together nicely offering a myriad of fun textures. Though the sauce could definitely be more earthy and “truffle-y”, the hot savoury mix was flavourful without being cloying. The beef was tender too and seasoned well.

Wagyu Truffle Beef Hor Fun (S) | $32 Flat noodles wok fried served in a bowl with short rib and a poached egg was brought to the table, before the staff poured piping hot truffle gravy into it and mixed everything up for me before my eyes. Upon serving I was already wowed by the aroma, and with everything mixed up together as it should be, the flavours all worked out very well. Loved how the truffle gave that extra kick, and how the shortrib was decently tender. But what I really enjoyed was the deep fried hor fun strips which was a fun addition to the dish, with a nice crunch that blended with all the savouriness. Rate:🌟🌟🌟🌟

Vanilla Strawberry Hojicha Drawn to their whole cakes, we had to get a tall slice of their Vanilla Strawberry Hojicha ($9.50/ slice); especially with the vibrant fresh strawberry topping. Layered with madagascan vanilla sponge, fresh strawberry filling, and hojicha buttercream, the cake looked kinda dry and dense at first but was surprisingly moist on the first bite. The taste of the hojicha buttercream lacked a little oomph in my opinion. However, it did have a lightly roasted tea flavour and was overall complementary to the strawberry filling (fresh strawberry was yum). It wasn’t too sweet overall, and great with tea.

Chocolate Banana Lime A little embarrassed that it is my first time at The Better Half and after this visit, it definitely won’t be my last. My favourite and something I would definitely return for is the Chocolate Banana Lime ($7.50) cake. Simply sublime, the chocolate sponge, fresh banana filling, and lime buttercream combo was a winner. Recommended by the staff when we were deciding on getting another cake, the rich chocolate-y cake was light, kinda moist but not airy so it has that tinge of decadence without being dense or cloying. Love love love the layer of fresh, pleasantly sweet banana hidden under the cream. And the best part was the smooth lime buttercream - fragrant, creamy, and providing that subtle zing to cut through the richness and tie everything together.

Charlotte Cake 🍰 Charlotte Cake 📍Dolç Patisserie (@dolcpatisserie) 📌 Outram Park 💰 $9.50 This cake is filled with mascarpone mousse, basil sponge and strawberry compote. I was the most surprised at the addition of basil, but surprisingly, it works insanely well together with the strawberry elements. The mascarpone is light and creamy while the strawberry is sweet and tangy. The herbiness of the basil balances out everything nicely, and generally, this is a really impressive cake! ⭐ Rating: 9/10 🤑 worth the price: a lil pricey but v nice 🦖 would I buy again: maybe 💍 would I marry: yesssss

Pesto chicken Pesto sauce was super flavourful! Chicken breast was not too dry either. This dish usually comes with chips as a side but I opted for their salad cos I love the sauce it comes with.

Secret Gem So pretty looking that you can't bear to bite it. Nice place to chill

Hot Long Black ($4), Iced White ($7) I hardly prefer black coffee but this one was really good! It had a distinct fruity flavour, and was smooth and aromatic, went down really easily. Definitely a memorable cup of coffee. The iced white unfortunately, had too much milk, so it didn’t come across with as strong a coffee taste as I would have liked. It was strong tho, as I felt a kick in my system after. I’ll opt for a smaller, hot cup of white coffee next time! They gave a single big cube of ice in the iced white, which melts less quickly so the coffee doesn’t get diluted as quickly 👍🏼

Coffee Jelly ($3.80) Coffee jelly was v refreshing, with a strong coffee flavour and went well with the smooth, sweet milk cream!

Iced Matcha Latte They served coffee and other drinks here. If you look for non-coffee, I would recommend their matcha latte. Smooth and strong taste of matcha even as it served with ice cubes.

BUAH KELUAK DRY RAMEN Generous portion of al-dente pasta tossed in buah keluak sauce; flavorful & smoky taste with lots of wok hei; lots of tender pulled pork meat..

SPICY CRAB FRIED RICE Generous portion of fried rice topped with lots of real crab meat; fried rice is well-cooked with smoky & strong wok hei taste; not spicy; with real scallop & prawn inside..

TRUFFLE SOBA KAILAN Simple yet light & appetizing dish; blanched veg drizzled with light soy sauce & strong truffle taste; the addition of red pickled ginger further lift up the taste..

Strange flavours Not worth the trip down - flavours weren’t anything to rave over.

Never Again.. Went around 8pm and there’s only 3 flavours of icecream left with only 2 scoops per flavour left. Try to see the picture’s background. All the flavours are deemed as premium flavour, and cost $5.50. We had the Burpple 1 for 1, so we got the last scoop of mango ice cream and a pistachio ice cream. Wanted to have it on a cone, though the cone looks like it’s from NTUC, a top up of $1/ icecream is required. Hence, we went with the cup. Took the first bite of ice cream, it was icy, like Popsical mixed with cream, frozen and hardened up. Wonder how long has the icecream been left on the shelf?? Won’t be coming back again...

Confusing Bingsu Icecream I thought it was smooth ice cream but it turned out to be Bingsu instead. Full of icy bits. Flavours tasted mild.

Genmaicha Auzki Tart ($13) It's final Easter day for this tart to comeback as they decided to close shop permanently. I decided to make a first and last visit with my friend to try it out for long time ever. I realised that the tart crust was quite hard to cut through. But the filling was quite sweet, milky and creamy. but its not much bitter taste tbh.

Uji Matcha Tiramisu ($10) I decided to try this dessert first as their alcoholic inside the tiramisu was quite strong and thick taste. But the filling was quite milky and creamy. but its strong bitter taste tbh. It's so good tbh as slowly getting jelak too much for me tbh.

Cinnamon Caramel Apple Cinnamon cream, caramelized apples withe vanilla sponge. Refreshing and light.

Small quaint cafe with good coffee and desserts Recently been to @modcafesg and we fell in love with the cozy vibe and I especially loved their desserts and coffee 😍 Their Lava Cake ($9.90) was simply a chocolate lover's dream, as it was so rich with quality chocolate flavours! This paired well with the aromatic vanilla ice cream! I also loved the crunchy almond slices too, as they were fresh and added another dimension of texture to the lava cake. We also tried many of their savoury main and side options, and they were all decent, but my favourite is still their Eggdrop Toast ($7). This was so similar to my favourite egg toast in Korea 😍 the scrambled eggs were done right, as it was fluffy and creamy. Flavours were on point, with a sweet and savoury combination which just works. Definitely a brunch worthy dish, which I would get with coffee. Speaking of which, I tried a bit of my friend's Mocha ($7.90) and I loved it! I wished I could have more of it but it was dinner time 😂 Not only was it rich and chocolatey, you can still taste the aromatic coffee notes as it gets more prominent towards the end of the taste profile. Definitely would be an enjoyable cuppa. Iced Matcha ($7.9) was decent. Definitely a cafe I will come back for, especially for their coffee and desserts. Small and costly cafe but slow service Cafe with great vibes and aesthetics, sharing a Container space with a hairsalin. Dining area was small and there was only 1 staff making the food and drinks, so our waffles (we ordered 3) came only one at a time - in total we waited about 30min+ for our waffles+drinks. Earl grey waffle had a slight peppery taste, not sure where it came from, but overall still quite enjoyable. The drink pictured on the right was a gelato + tea combination, but the amount of tea was so little because there were big chunks of ice filling the cup that the scoop of ice cream was perched on. Not worth the price tag ($10+).

Beverly Hills Original Cheesecake ($7.90) [MOD Cafe] On the outside, you'd see pretty pink walls with swings for you to sit around and take photos for the gram; there's also a MOD Salon just beside the cafe. Got to note that it's a really small cafe, so when we arrived it was full house so we chose to sit outside to enjoy our afternoon treat. Service was pretty good, so it was quite an enjoyable experience overall. The cheesecake honestly had nothing much to shout about though, the texture is good, it's pretty soft, but it's just a normal cheesecake with slightly too thin biscuit base for my liking. Would have loved for the base to be more fragrant & flavourful as well.

Takeaway fig pound cake and black coffee Chance encounter after hiking and wanted to get a quick snack. Will do a sit in in future as the 2nd storey looks inviting.

Camaca gelato and waffles Camaca gelato is indeed a pleasant dessert that is such a satisfying sweet tooth treat! The vanilla flavour is strong and complements so well with the crispy and fluffy waffles! Over this is a nice dessert spot and i will head there soon to enjoy the sweet treat!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Sugar Free Ice Cream Rly interesting concept where ice cream is kept in individual “capsule”. They are placed into a machine to churn them out as soft serve only when you order! Ordered passion fruit mango, musang durian, and strawberry latte. My personal fav is the strawberry latte (for someone who usually dislike strawberry). Musang durian was rly fragrant too, tho the price is on the high side
