For ModSin Indian-inspired Cocktails This cosy, romantic spot around the corner from Neil Road is perfect for an after-work tipple with a date. Start with the Buffalo Road ($22), where pink guava-infused gin is mixed with homemade vetiver and tonic water. Alternatively, the health-ful Kamasutra ($22) sees house-infused garlic wine and caramelised pomegranate⁣⁣. Rum-lovers will enjoy the sweet-and-sour Beeda Man ($22) as well as the Tekka ($22) that comes topped with deep-fried banana skin, lime cream and chicken65 powder. ⁣⁣Photo by Burppler Cyn Lim

Homage To Singaporean Indian Culture! Found time to visit. @elephantroomsg ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ When one thinks of #modsin, it's always lemongrass, coconut milk and gula Melaka stuff. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲, 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐩𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐥𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐌𝐨𝐝𝐒𝐢𝐧 𝐟𝐥𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬. ⁣⁣ #𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐧⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ My drink of choice was The Buffalo Road ($22): An Indian take on G&T, pink guava-infused gin with #vetiver and tonic. Sum Dim Sum Queued for about an hour before we finally got a table! I can finally see what the hype is about! They serve pretty unique items like the pan fried mushroom bun, baked salted egg custard bun and steamed crispy rice roll with shrimp! The bill racked up to a whooping $63 even after using two burpple deals so it’s not v wallet friendly😿 However it rly serves quality food and I can tell that a lot of thought has been put into creating these dishes! This place has become one of the top dim sum places on my list and I’ll be smarter in the future and make a reservation beforehand or opt for takeouts or deliveries hehe Taste: 8/10 Presentation: 7.5/10 Ambience: 7/10 (pretty small place, they should expand!!)

Crusty Liu Sha Bao I’m a sucker for liu sha bao and this rly blew my mind!! It’s the first time I’ve com across liu sha bao w a crispy crust unlike the usual soft bao outer layer! The lava oozed out onto my fingers and I wasn’t fast enough to save some of the lava that dripped onto my plate. A definite must-try and one of the best liu sha baos I’ve tasted in my life!

Can only redeem one Category per meal Slightly disappointed as we thought we could redeem 3 categories under Burpple Beyond (Steamed, Congee & Pan-fried) but it turns out you can only redeem one category per Beyond subscription. We chose the congee of higher value. The Salted Egg Yolk Custard Buns were really good as they spam lots of salted egg lava and the fish congee is flavorful & homely. Xiaolongbao was okay. Japanese Dumpling (though recommended on the list) was slightly underwhelming and we don't recommend it. Honey BBQ Pork Buns were not bad but might be a bit too sweet for some. Overall still worth a hearty lunch meal! Spent $31 for 2 pax with the amount pictured above + the bowl of century egg congee not featured in the image.

Worth the Dining Experience! My first time trying Fat Belly and it tasted so good! Both my friend and I tried the Denver and Deckle cut and it came with our favourite sides! We were seated at the bar table and the view was awesome! I get to see the chefs cooking on the spot and it was quite insightful for me to see such cooking demonstrations live. We’ve got the tiramisu cake to share and I swear, it tasted just as good as the one I’ve tried in Italy! I would love to have one more portion but I’m so full with just the mains! Will definitely come back for their other desserts! Great dining experience!

11/10 Will Be Back Finally got to try Fat Belly after hearing so many good reviews and they did not disappoint! Came with a friend to share the Denver cut and Deckle cut steaks, along with sides of truffle fries and mushrooms. The steaks were cooked medium rare to perfection and the wagyu marbling left me wanting more despite feeling super full towards the end of the meal. The mushrooms were fragrant, fresh and buttery, while the truffle fries were nice and crisp, and tasted surprisingly light. We got the tiramisu to share as well. While I'm not a desserts person, I thoroughly enjoyed the tiramisu! Restaurant ambiance was awesome. We were seated at the bar tables and were treated to a view of the finesse and professionalism the kitchen crew exhibited as they worked through the meals (: 11/10 experience, will definitely be back (:

Great Steak I decided to try the Denver Steak (medium rare) and I was pretty impressed—it was juicy, marinated-well and had a really, really nice smoky flavour. The Charred Broccolini provided some crunch and was a good balance to the tender steak. For dessert, I had the creamy Basque Burnt Cheesecake which wasn’t too sweet and was a pleasant end to a great meal. Cosy and convenient, the restaurant is also only a few minutes away from the MRT. It was overall a satisfying experience—definitely check this place out!

A Feast For The Eyes And The Tummy We got the dark chocolate, pistachio, mango and passion fruit, and the Ishapan (lychee, rose and raspberry). Opening the box to this beautiful sight made us drool already. I’ve (Chiyin) been lucky to have tasted eclairs whilst I was in France, and I still can’t forget the experience (yes, they were that good). These eclairs were almost as amazing (just smaller) as the ones I had back then! The cream wasn’t too heavy on the palate or overly cloying. The dark chocolate was just the right balance of bitter and sweet, while the chocolate streusels on the top really helped to enhance the overall taste - perhaps that’s why it was a favourite among everyone who tried it! If you prefer a fresh, sour-sweet taste, you’d enjoy the mango and passion fruit eclair. The combination of lychee, rose and raspberry really hit the spot but I felt that it could be a littttle less sweet. For all pistachio fans, the pistachio eclair will not disappoint. :)

Berries And Dark Choc The Berries was the seasonal special so was $8.50. It had lemon montee ganache, which I dunno what it is, but it tasted great! Slightly sour and made the whole eclair not jelat. Lessened the sweetness too. Very easy on the palate. Dark choc had 66% choc pastry cream, which was still pretty sweet to me. The choc streusel on top tasted a bit salty, which I couldn’t appreciate. Would have been better without it.

Mango Passion fruit And Matcha ($8 Each) The matcha cream was slightly bitter and there were little pearly balls for crunch. Definitely liked this. Mango passion fruit was heavy on the passion fruit, which I really enjoyed. Slightly piquant and very creamy. This was my favorite of the 4 I got. Used Burpple beyond so these were free.
