In true Mark Wiens style, this local Vietnamese breakfast was a wholesome and comforting breakfast that makes the traveling there all the more worthwhile. Once reached, you will be ushered into one of their makeshift tables by the roadside and they have provided tiny stools that might be slightly uncomfortable from the first sitting. However, to be truly immersed in the Vietnamese street food culture, this is as authentic of an experience as you can get anywhere else.

Moving on the Bánh Mì Ôp La, which is what most if not all diners will usually order, is a personal skillet of sunny side up eggs with slices of ham and sausages, served with toasted baguette. Tear apart the baguette, break the egg yolks and stack it up with some meat, and it will be a bite of euphoria and sheer pleasure. Best breakfast in Saigon? This definitely gets my vote for it.

Partly because Banh Mi Hoa Ma only operates from 5am-10am only! I travelled far just for this highly raved breakfast in Saigon. Fried eggs with hams and onion together with a baguette. The hot pan is sizzling hot! When it's served on your table. The smell, the sound and the sight of it just intrigued every part of your senses! I grabbed the baguette, broke it into two. It's crispy and yet super fluffy and soft in the inside. I hate hard bread, this is very good bread! Totally exceed my expectation! The eggs has been seasoned. I scooped some of the caramelized onions, eggs and ham unto my bread! Damn! It tasted so heavenly!!!! Dip your bread into the yolks! omg! Can you feel my excitement when I ate this?!?!

Deconstructed banh mi of crispy yet light baguettes for your slathering on the pan-fried mixture of sausage, sunny side up egg and smoked meats within a plate. No wonder the place was perpetually crowded when we visited Sunday morning.

Not cheap going by Vietnamese food prices at 52,000VND ($3.10) per set, but the experience is novel for the tourist and food was honestly decent (that said, hard to botch a breakfast like this). Oh and skip the Vietnamese coffee (or ask for it much less sweet), which was like Kopi with extra extra sugar. #banhmihoama #vietnamesefood #saigon #herpenandfork #sgblogger #sgfoodie #8dayseat #burpple #vscofood #openricesg #cafehoppingsg #instafood #instafood_sg #onthetable #stfoodtrending #breakfast
