Signature cake. Refreshing light cake accented with rose flavored cream, strawberry pieces, watermelon slice and garnished with pistachios and rose petals.

It’s a great balance of refreshing crunchy watermelon with light sponge and cream that’s just the right level of sweetness, strawberries & mix of lavender & pistachio. The proportion of each ingredient is just right, with none overpowering the other. Would say it’s definitely worth a try when in Sydney πŸ“@blackstarpastry, 277 Australia St Newtown, New South Wales

Strawberry Watermelon Cake πŸ“πŸ‰πŸ°... Hmmmm... Just how special could it be? Or could it be just another Insta fad that looks pretty? πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

But @blackstarpastry truly WOW-ed me with this creation at #TGIF 2017 , and a brief chat with Chef Christopher ThΓ© who came all the way from Sydney πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί, led me to appreciate this work of love even more! 😍❀️❀️❀️

Each bite was a burst of freshness and life, and I truly enjoyed the feast for my eyes, and savouring the dedication put into every piece.

Using only the best quality produce from the market, Chef Thé specially arrived early in SG to replicate the original Strawberry Watermelon Cake! 😱❀️❀️❀️

Consisting of two layers of almond dacquoise, rose-scented cream 🌷, watermelon πŸ‰, strawberries πŸ“ and garnished with pistachios and dried rose petals, I was amazed how everything fit so well together while maintaining the light fruity flavours carefully handpicked by Chef ThΓ©. Definitely worth my $10, and I truly hope to savour the original in its hometown one day!

One of the few things from this Aussie trip that really impressed my family and haunts my sweet tooth day and night, is Black Star Pastry's insanely addictive Watermelon Cake. I know I'm way behind and everyone's been talking about this for the longest time, but I guess better late than never eh? Super delicate cake with flavours of rose and πŸ‰ that won over even my mum, the hater of all things sweet. So good, my mum considered getting a whole cake to dapao back home.

This beautiful cake tastes as fantastic as it looks. With light and fluffy cream, a flavourful and sweet strawberry layer, a crunchy watermelon layer and the smell of rosebuds, it almost feels like you're drinking tea and having your cake altogether. πŸ“πŸ‰πŸ°β€οΈ

The Lychee Raspberry cake.

The base is a rich chocolate biscuit holding up layers of raspberry marshmallow and vanilla cream.

Lychees and raspberries on top. Sweet. 🍰 #DFDCake
