Tried the chilli crab pasta and I've tried this dish at quite a few places, but I really like Breko's version!

We had the Chickenolgy ($16.50), Tomato Chicken Stew ($17.50) and Chilli Cauli Balls ($9.50).

Chickenology - this was the first dish which arrived and the poached egg was super jiggly! Very interesting presentation of the mushroom soup which serves as a sauce. The whole dish works well.

Tomato Chicken Stew (pictured) - dish came in a skillet (good for photos! XD) but sadly, it doesn't taste as good as it looks. The sauce is too watery and sour (I was expecting a more umami, bolognese-y taste) and doesn't blend well with the rest of the ingredients. Nonetheless, the chicken, zucchini and potatoes were well cooked, all very tender and easy to eat. I'm quite impresses by the toast though, crunchy yet fluffy!

Chilli Cauli Balls - this is so good! The cauliflower florets were breaded and then fried before being smothered by a chili crab, eggy sauce. Very flavorful and "meatish" haha recommended to share though as it gets gelak after a while.

Overall we paid $27 for this meal ($17.50 for 1 for 1 mains and $9.50 for the cauli balls side). Decent eats at this price point and nice ambience.

Ordered the chilli crab pasta and I really liked it! Sauce was rich but not overpowering and the pasta was nice and al dente! They were very generous with the soft shell crab and it was covered in herbs and spices (tasted a little odd at first but I grew to love it) with 1 for 1, it’s definitely worth a try!

Overall this dish was very satisfying as the chili crab sauce was just nice for its spiciness. The softshell crab has actual meat inside unlike other places and it wasn't spicy at all :). I ordered the buffalo wings which were a good touch as well.

One of the more affordable cafes with wallet-friendly prices. There’s quite a wide selection of food, with local fusion food and western offerings, so there will be something for everyone. I ordered the Seafood Marinara that came with a generous serving of pasta and seafood (hidden underneath the pasta), although the mussels were unavailable that day. Really liked the cheese on top too. This dish will be perfect for garlic lovers as they used a large amount of garlic in their pasta dishes.

Back here for the second time and their burgers are really value for money! Paid $1 ea to upgrade the fries to sweet potato/ scissors cut fries and really preferred these fries to their regular ones

On our 2nd visit to Breko, we ordered the pulled pork burger and the fisherman burger with cottage fries and sweet potato fries respectively. The burgers were delicious and huge! The pulled pork burger was delightful..... it was juicy and the pickles were a great addition. The fisherman burger was slightly more difficult to devour because Breko was so generous with the fish that there were two thick patties in the burger. On top of that, the fish patties were so crispy.... 🤤 overall, we preferred the pulled pork burger because all the flavors went well together and it wasn’t too salty or cloying! The fisherman burger was a bit salty. We also agreed that the sweet potato fries were a better choice than the cottage fries ☺️ both were great, but the cottage fries were saltier than the sweet potato fries.

Used burpple 1-1 on this magnificent Salmon Mac and Cheese. Also recommend the Ice Chocolate. Few places serve the cold version well.

Enjoyed the 1 for 1 Burpple for the burgers. Ordered Crispy Chicken Bacon Burger and Pulled Pork Burger. I personally loved it, pork and chicken meat is tender, it’s just kinda oily if you are super health conscious person.
Ambience is quite chill and quiet, definitely worth the time to check this place out.

🤔: Small portion and the meat and batter ratio was almost 1:1. Don't recommend.

🤔: Favourite dish out of all items we got. Portion was significantly bigger and the taste was good too. Soft shell crab was fried well and was delicious doused in the tangy chilli crab sauce.

🤔: Salmon was on the drier side, and portion was small. Would recommend other items on the menu instead of this.

Being one of my favourite comfort food, this one tops the list with a favourite protein - salmon. Portion looks small, but enough to keep me full and satisfied 🥳
Good balance between creaminess and cheesiness 🧀

Managed to try two dishes because of Burrple Beyond - Salmon Wonder and Bacon Mushroom Mac n Cheese. Had high expectations after reading reviews here but was really disappointed with the food. Service was okay.

Salmon Wonder ($18) - Salmon was overcooked and bland. Sauce and vegetables were over salted there was no other flavour in there, could barely stomach it. The only saving grace was the poached egg.

Bacon Mushroom Mac n Cheese ($16.50) - It didn't taste like mac n cheese at all. It had cheese, but all I tasted was pizza sauce. After many mouthfuls it started to be too salty to finish eating. Its been 2 hours since i’ve had my food and I still smell the parmesan used in the mac n cheese.

Based on this experience I wouldn’t reccommend and wouldn’t come back.

rly good!! ordered pasta and 1-1 with salmon mac n cheese!! mac n cheese was ok tbh but tomyum pasta was rly good could taste the herbs and all :-)

Breko Café at Holland V serves brunch all day and serves drinks as well. We went there for dinner and ordered Chickenology ($16.50), shown above, and Salmon Mac & Cheese ($17), below. Chickenology was really delicious and addictive, a medley of textures - crispy fried chicken, mashy mashed potato, gooey poached egg and a very flavourful concoction of mushroom sauce with truffle oil! We really recommend this dish! However, the Salmon Mac & Cheese was a horrible disaster - more like Penne and Cheese. There were only 5 small pieces of baked (and tough) salmon. The Penne and Cheese was not cheesy at all, and it was like forcing 2 incompatible people together - distasteful experience. Overall, it felt like a budget meal that a novice could have whipped up in less than 15 minutes (or less) as a quick midweek meal. We do not recommend the Salmon Mac & Cheese at all!!! Try their other dishes, which look pretty good!

However, the place was well designed and it gave off a cosy atmosphere. We will revisit to try their other dishes!

Love how flavourful the baked vegetables were. The potatoes were nice and soft.
