If you are in a mood for spicy food, don't miss out Ayam Gepuk Pak Gembus when you are in Ampang. This Indonesian dish is so popular because of the spiciness of the sambal. We dare you to go above the "biasa" level of Spice. Because even at the lowest level of spiciness, you will still need to drink a lot of water to wash down all the heat! The dish consist of marinated fried chicken (RM11) with a side of cabbage, fried tofu, Tempeh and dark soy sauce for you to pour on the rice if you can't handle the 🔥.
So so food. Not worth the drive to Shah Alam.
If you are looking other than nasi padang for indonesian food IndoAsli is the place. Their indomee with softshell crab is great and their telur tofu is amazing..just have to bear with the long wait for the food. But pther than that food is really delicious
If you’re a spicy food lover, definitely give SS Restaurant a try ! The sambal was fantastically hot but addictive. Love that whole nasi set choices that satisfied my nasi cravings.
Revisited on 4th July 2020 for more yummy Indonesian food but many dishes are not available this time.. i miss their bebek goreng and sambal petai....
Each dish, well presented by friendly kitchen staffs, explaining in details •
First came to know of Jing Ze at Tiffin FC, a well memorable rice bowl that reflected here, silken soft beef, pinkish in the middle, drenched with heavy rendang gravy and a side of sambal matah - somewhat reminding me of Bali •
A nicely seared sizable Pork & Prawn Gyoza that had an amazing combination of fire sauce base and crispy lard and what an unique wings appetizer, stuffed with glutinous rice and Thai fermented pork sausage, yet crunchy on the that sent me to heaven with its wings, especially with sriracha mayo dip. So much was going on with every bite ! •
On a perfect note to end the lunch course, a palate cleanser, coconut and pumpkin sorbet which was down to its natural purée taste. I wish it was more than a scoop #highlyRAEted •
Lunch Set RM50 - Loh Mai Kai Wings & Crispy Corn (snacks), Pork and Prawn Dumplings (appetizer), Rendang Wagyu Beef Bowl, Coconut & Pumpkin Sorbet • Apple Plum Cooler RM10 •

🥰 If you enjoy indonesian food, this place is worth the try guys! Love the ayam penyet and ayam bakar here 🙌🏻
.
🍗 Ayam Bakar Paha (RM17.50): The weekday lunch promo includes white rice and a drink for this price. Usually I’d order the ayam penyet or the ayam bakar. The ayam bakar is one of my favs. The skin is crispy and chicken is grilled just right, inside is soft 😍 there’s 4 sambals you can choose (you can try all of ‘em if you want, sambal is free flow) my fav is the sambal tomato 🍅 ⭐️8.5/10

Have you been here before? If yes, comment one of the dish you like there, maybe I might try it out too ✨

📍 Waroeng Penyet (Available at Midvalley, Nu Sentral, Sogo, The Curve) @waroengpenyet
Each lunch set comes with Saur Rice (Black Eye Pea Rice) that HAS to be eaten with sambal variation for the spicy kick ! •
Soft pork cubes braised in exquisite curry, grilled to perfection quarter chicken that isn’t dry and a wholesome & flavorsome rounded pork sate •
Quite like seating upstairs - rice field mural & “bersila” seating, making the whole experience a little more traditional; Lesehan 😛 #highlyRAEted •
Lunch Set - RM12.90, comes with Teh Serai or Iced Lemon Tea • Be Siap Mepanggang (grilled chicken) • Be Celeng Base Kalas (pork curry) •
