Ordered some of the usual suspects and also tried the prawn and pineapple curry. Very yummy as usual but I think I ordered way too much food for 4 adults. Swipe to see some of the dishes, I didn't manage to take a snap of all of them as we were hungry.

This is typically a confinement dish, chinese women are fed lots of this after maternity to help them regain their strength. You can enjoy this dish here as long as you pre order it like all the other dishes. I loved my dining experience here. We tried to order some belacan wings midway through our meal but were told that they had sold out for the evening. That's how it is here. They are here to feed the alumnus who miss the homecooked food of their hometown, Penang and not out to make a profit. That explains the high standards that they maintain and the convivial feeling at the association. Many tables were friends gathering to catch up and some to celebrate their birthdays. It's like a home away from home. I hope to return soon to try their other dishes.

I really feel that I am transported back to a Nyonya's home. Take a piece of lettuce, fill it up with Jiu Hu Char and add a dash of sambal. Munch away. Repeat. So good.

Cooked in a slightly sweet sambal paste, the prawns were juicy and the best part was the small shallots which accompanied the prawns. So sweet.

Basically, 5 spiced meat rolls wrapped in beancurd skin and deep fried. These are the best I have tested. It's the real deal. Instead of using the sweet chilli dipping sauce, I had them with their freshly made sambal belacan. Shiok!

How come I have never heard of this place before. Hidden in the Chung Ling Alumni Association, is the best Nyonya kitchen in town. This place rocks! None of the trappings of commercialism. You feel like you are dining in some Penang Nyonya home. Think home cooked dishes where the taste and standards are consistent because they are proud to serve only the best and most authentic Nyonya dishes. You kind of have to pre order as they cook limited portions of some dishes and some of them sell out really fast. Like I said, they are not commercially driven. It's a place for the old boys of Chung Ling, a famous school in Penang to have the authentic taste of home. Dinner started off with perut ikan. Can't contain my delight. This dish of fish intestines is very hard to execute and only a Nyonya matriarch would go through all that trouble of sourcing all the various vegetables and herbs that come along with it. Most times, the shops don't get it right. Here it was perfect!
