The Salted Egg Soft Shell Crab Pasta (S$16.90) was probably an interesting choice from the Pastamania’s premium pasta range menu.

I could taste the salted egg yolk flavour from the cream sauce. However, perhaps it was owing to the strong flavour of cooked pasta and the lack of savoury ingredients (e.g. bacon) tossed with the pasta, that the pasta sauce tasted pretty bland. I believe that if the sauce tasted stronger and some chilli padi were to be added in, the dish would be able to really bring out the true identity of salted egg yolk dishes.

On the other hand, I thought that the soft shell crab was fried to perfection: crispy but not oily.
