The master behind Safiya by Shangri-La Singapore is Head Chef Ara Sayegh and the thoughtfully curated menu pays homage to chef’s homeland with dishes made with quality wholesome ingredients such as fresh vegetables and superfoods, alongside grilled meats that have been marinated with a unique blend of spices and herbs. You can now get a taste of an authentic Middle Eastern dining experience in the comfort of home starting with an array of mezzes, before moving onto the hearty mains and lastly, end with desserts.

In the mezzes section, there is the Duo Dips ($14+) of hummus (mashed chickpeas dip) and baba ghanouj (roasted eggplant dip), served with toasted pita bread and Warak Enab ($14+), a traditional Lebanese dish of grape leaf wrapped with a stuffing of rice and vegetables that is usually eaten on the Eid table at the end of Ramadan. An essential part of Middle Eastern cuisine is the Falafel ($15+) and Chef Ara’s rendition consists of seven different spices in the deep fried chickpea nugget.

For the mains, the menu has the Shish Tawook ($20+) of corn-fed chicken breast marinated in a spiced tomato sauce and served with pickled onions and Shekaf Lahme ($28+) of Australian Angus Wagyu beef cubes marinated with onions, spices, tomatoes and dried herbs before being charcoal-grilled. To end the meal proper, have a Meghil ($9+) or Baklava ($14+), the former a vegan Lebanese rice pudding with grated coconut and mixed nuts and the latter is the popular filo pastry dessert that has been soaked in sugar syrup and topped with roasted pistachios.

Besides ordering these dishes as ala carte orders, there are the set menus’ Feast for two ($48+) to four ($90+) that includes a choice of main with a cold and hot mezze, pita bread, dessert, pickles and Arabic rice.
