Got me all excited when I first read @whatisdigesting and @rainraineeataway’s reviews on @mrspho’s egg coffee as I have not had it since the last trip to Hanoi in 2018. A slightly different rendition combining pasteurised egg yolk and Vietnamese drip coffee, the one at Mrs Pho had a strong vanilla custard flavour with a smoky note from the torched layer, somewhat like a creme brûlée. Albeit the lack in distinct eggy and buttery notes, it was relatively smooth to drink especially when it’s hot. Makes me crave for traveling to Hanoi even more!

We also had the fresh avocado cream coffee where the Vietnamese drip coffee was topped with a thick creamy layer of fresh blended avocado smoothie. While the avocado taste was rather subtle, I could still perceive the green butteriness that coupled with a natural sweetness.
