(Throw back to) Happy International Fried Chicken Day!

Which fried chicken did you have? Jinjja Chicken has always been one of my favorite fast food-style korean fried chicken, simply because it’s tasty at a wallet-friendly price. There are 3 different flavours to choose from; soy garlic, yangnyeom and monster. If you can’t make up your mind, you can ask for a mix of flavours!

We had the mix of soy garlic and yangnyeom. Although the batter of the fried chicken isn’t as thick as most you would find, they are generous with the sauce coating. The soy garlic is good for people who prefer a balance between sweet and savoury, with a hint of garlic. However, it might come across slightly salty. If you are tempted for a spicy kick without wanting to be overkilled by the heat, go for the yangnyeom. Made with a secret recipe from South Korea, the tang of this sweet, sticky and spicy sauce will surely add on to your addiction of their fried chicken! Some might not prefer this, but I actually enjoyed the sesame seeds sprinkled on the batter because it also contributes a hint of roasted nuttiness.

The other thing that I must have at Jinjja is the sesame seaweed fries. It’s not overly greasy or salty, and the seaweed and chili flakes used are bigger, solid pieces, where you get to taste the freshness.
