The Grandstand is usually less crowded during weekdays. And if you are not already aware, Jack's Place offers set lunches at very affordable prices, all the way up to 5.00pm. This means that you will still be able to enjoy a main course with a Soup of the Day, a simple dessert and a cup of coffee or tea.
I tried this Slipper Lobster Meat, Prawn and Clam Baked Rice executive set lunch (S$16.90), which also has some salad by the side. It's not exactly my kind of baked rice compared to another restaurant that specialises in ice cream, because I felt that the ingredients did not really complement one another (distinction between seafood, rice and cheese). Guess if I paid a few dollars more, the Ribeye Steak lunch set would have been a much desirable option.
