It's not that difficult to find cheap eats in Orchard, you just got to find the right places! Greenview cafe is a humble little shop located in Far East Plaza that sells snacks, soup, noodles and rice dishes.

Legend has it that the dry mee hoon kueh here is awesome, and the fried mee tai mak was another. Being indecisive, we resorted to scissors paper stone to decide which to order. A lady saw and she giggled at us. Eventually we decided on the Mee hoon kueh, and the salty smell was already very strong even before tasting.

The irregular shaped pieces of the kueh with uneven outlines proved that these were really handmade. Simple but abundant ingredients; leafy vegetable, minced pork, mushroom and fried ikan bilis. Very homely dish but the only complaint that I have is that there was too much soya sauce and vinegar that had the mee hoon kueh swimming in. The peppery soup was a little heavy on MSG. Gonna try the fried mee tai mak the next time!
