Finally got down to trying this after many trips to Taipei. It was a good bowl of braised pork rice and the sides (especially the pork belly, fried tofu and bitter gourd pork rib soup) were also good.

This is really good. Though they are famous for their LU Rou Fan, I must day this is must order as well. Won’t disappoint! 😋😋

.
Another legendary braised pork rice 滷肉飯 that’s worth the calories! 滷肉飯 is very flavourful and well braised, not too salty for our liking! Just a lil gravy and some fatty 滷肉 is good enough for us to slurp up a whole bowl down! They opens till 1am daily so you can drop by later at night to avoid the long queue.

And not just any random crummy one around a corner, head to Jin Feng (金峰魯肉飯) for the best lu rou fan in Taipei.

While they serve a bunch of dishes there, the lu rou rice is undoubtedly the star of the show. Coming in 3 sizes, the pork was incredibly tender and just melted into the rice below it, with a blast of soothing slow braised Chinese soy sauce flavor to it. The ratio of rice to pork and sauce was simply perfect with each grain being coated. The accompanying pickled vegetable contrasted the richness well •
Such simplicity but layered with so much flavor. Located next to the CKS Memorial Hall train stop and open from lunch to the wee hours of the morning, there’s really no excuse not to go. #gastrologyintaipei

Declared to be our favourite lu rou fan so far. Queue is pretty long but moves really fast! Also get their braised egg because it's duck egg (slightly different texture).

Unquestionably deserving of the title imho. Specked with decadent slivers of fatty braised pork fat, the minced pork belly topping boasted a melt-in-your-mouth texture and an amazing depth of flavour. It's gobsmackingly delicious. The rice was moist and sticky, soaking up the oily yummy pork gravy. Enjoyed with the few but stellar side dishes, it made for an excellent and affordable breakfast.
