Genki Set A (S$55.90)

46pcs ─ Ebi Garlic Butter ● Inari ● Salmon Black Pepper ● Salmon Mentai ● Smoked Duck ● Tamago ● Unagi ● Yaki Salmon

Sadly the rice portion of the sushi tended to stick together. Needed effort to separate them.

The portion may look small but it is definitely filling.

The bowl consists of a combination of beef and teriyaki chicken on top of a bed of fluffy japanese rice. The beef slices were tender and had a sweet-savoury flavour. The chicken was an interesting version of teriyaki chicken as it appeared to be deep-fried rather than grilled. It was equally tender as the beef and tasted similar to charsiew as it had a slight char. The accompanying mushrooms were cooked in a sweet vinegary sauce that added a nice tang to the rest of the dish. The bowl was completed with half a boiled egg and a side of miso soup. Overall, a delicious dish that is value-for-money.

Orders come pretty quickly, raw dishes were fresh, tho salmon was still abit frozen. Good place for family and kids especially. Portion for soft shell crab was abit small for its price. Decent quality if you are willing to pay slightly higher than in sushi express.

Always love genki tamago!! And many of their dishes (udon soup etc) but queue might be long (waiting time 1h) on a saturday lunch! :')

This is the first dish I've ever had at Genki that I thought was really bad. Seemingly simple, but something was amiss. There was a burnt smell from the second the train delivered this to our table. Perhaps the soup was too hot for the plastic bowl? The soup tasted funky so we didn't finish it. I like that they put the fried tempura bits in a spoon so it won't get soggy, but the burnt taste was a huge nono.

Price: $4.20
