All Dish Are good and tasty, only few item are kind of pricy. But overall still a good concept and food.

📷 In frame: Starfruits Assam Fish [seasonal price]; Penang Lobak [RM10].⁣ ⁣

✨: Kampung's comforting local dishes are prepared with an extra touch of care-- our Assam fish was mostly boneless! Assam fish prepared with starfruit is definitely a first for me, and I have to say, it's not bad at all! The tanginess and slight kick of spice made for a greatly appetizing dish. The fish paired with some 'zhap' laden rice was comfort food at its best. ⁣

Apart from the homey food, the numerous pots of lush greenery against clean white walls made for the perfect dining atmosphere (not to mention, good for the gram too 🤭). ⁣

💬: The lobak, although with great texture and five spice flavour, was a bit too salty for my liking. ⁣

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our relaxed Saturday afternoon here and will definitely find ourselves back for more! ⁣

The team behind Alison Soup House takes on communal-style dining at this gorgeous, open-air restaurant in Section 17. The menu features familiar Malaysian flavours, such as a Sous Vide Hainanese Chicken (RM22) and Starfruits Assam Fish (RM28) — both pair well with the fragrant Chicken Rice (RM4). End your meal on a sweet note with a warm, super comforting bowl of Bubur Cha Cha (RM7), especially great on a chilly night.

Gotta love a rich and flavourful assam curry, and this Nyonya-inspired dish is so yummy. The curry’s punchy yet a little sweet, and has a nice touch of heat. The barrumundi fillet is deep-fried perfectly too! If I had to pick a favourite, hands down it’s this.

Another simple dish done well. Love the charred bits on the veggies, giving it a bit more depth. This is great on its own or with the restaurant’s signature chicken rice.

The team behind Alison Soup House venture into a contemporary-style dining at this gorgeous spot in Section 17. You’ll find lots of familiar dishes on the menu like this steamed chicken. Cooked sous vide-style, the chicken is nice and tender. Taste wise, there’s nothing to shout about. It’s good but it’s nothing I can’t find elsewhere.
