Everything is just perfect with this rendition – I tried it twice to confirm this, once on Friday and another this morning. The rice may look mushy from this angle but each grain remains whole, with bite, and reeks of the beautiful, almost herbaceous fragrance of the leaf. You get generous chunks of five spice + soy sauce-braised tender chicken and meaty shiitake. The sole chestnut in the mix is so soft, creamy and almost melts in the mouth, but the highlight is that golden globe of salted egg yolk which adds a lovely savoury note with every mouthful. What makes this dish even more glorious is that it is made at the stall daily. Ok, that's all.

Because wantan mee alone is not enough, so you order a large bowl of fishball soup to complete it. Ok, that's all.

Perhaps the best I've had in Singapore. It's a small setup running by a family just beside the kopi tiam. Best!!!

I wasn’t very excited for ckt brunch today at first . But don’t mind giving it a try since my mum bought it home anyway. After my first bites , pork lards checked βœ”οΈ, lup cheong checked βœ”οΈ, moisture checked βœ”οΈ, chilli checked checked βœ”οΈβœ”οΈ. It’s amount of oil is not too much but tgt with dark soy sauce , it’s absolutely suffice to lubricate every strand of noodles . I also like it when the amount of kway teow is much more than the noodles . Yeay , it’s indeed not disappointing at all ! πŸ˜€

Don't overlook this meat skewer and that peanut sauce. Just the right food to hit the spot after a long week. Surprised myself with how very satisfied I was with hokkien mee, a bowl of bak kut teh soup and satay to share for 2. Whoever said cheap food can't be good - it can. And so very good at that.

Was never a fan of satay since young, but this, will gladly have. Comes from a nondescript coffee shop in the northern heartlands (yes yishun), manned by a Malay uncle and his family. They do a really mean satay - a distinct lemongrass aroma coupled with the smokiness from the light char and tender marinated chicken meat. Even the ketupat is done to a just-nice soft. Dip the skewer into the peanut sauce that has got all the peanut sweet-savoury flavour down pat. Not looking anywhere else for better satay. This is great enough. $0.60/pc, and only available at night. #satay #sgfood
