Hunting For Cafes And Coffee
Their food is more likely for morning breakfast and brunch time.. The decor of the cafe is old school and heartwhelming.. Great service, but only cash payment😊 Come and enjoy the old school feel of having your brunch with your family and friends:)
Chicken fred sandwich is delicious~ didnt expect that the bread itself is soft and the ingredient is fresh too! Should try it! They serve you with wonderful and friendly manner;) thumbs up!
Truffle fries, anyone? 🍟 Not all fries infused with truffle oil thou' fries are crispy. I prefer a stronger, earthy flavour.. And so far, only 2 places make the mark IMHO. 🙊🙊
Yes, it's an expensive sandwich but after cramming it in my mouth, I can conclude it is deserving of its price.
For one, the duck confit filling is amazing. You know how some versions are dry and stringy? It is not the case here at all. They cook the leg of the duck very well, retaining juiciness and rich flavour. Also, the slight saltiness of the duck meat gets along like a house on fire with the creamy mayo, sweet apricot preserve and caramelised onions. Oh, and do you see that gorgeous egg puffing up my croissant? Now that was a yummy surprise because there's no mention of it in the menu. Excellent sandwich aside, the fries were crisp and the salad, fresh. A must-try.
The colour was what caught my attention and for a moment, I thought it was a yam cake but on closer inspection, I realised I was mistaken. You can't miss the lavender scent even with the earl grey flavouring because it blooms large. The flower even appears in dessicated form in tiny amounts across the top of the cake. If there's ever to be an edible perfume, this is it.
And All Things Delicious is Tolido's Espresso Nook's newest neighbour, which offers a wide variety for halal-certified bakes such as Gula-Melaka Scones, Brownies and Galettes. The baker insists on using unprocessed ingredients such as unsalted butter organic ingredients so as to make their bakes taste more "natural" and it shows; clean yet flavourful treats indeed. They also share their shop space with Fictive Fingers that does pretty decent handprinted textile designs, if anyone is interested.
I would go so far as to say this is the BEST rendition of a Burratina (also known as Burrata) salad I have had in years.
Besides the top-notch silky-smooth, creamy Burratina cheese and clean-tasting Parma Ham, the other ingredients seem to be above the ordinary too, thanks to the chef's efforts in making them from scratch. This includes the grilled bread (on which the cheese rests), the candied almond slices (which adds a fantastic sweet and salty crunch factor) and the luscious poached pears. Even the rocket leaves are the fresh, young and succulent variety, coated lightly in a perfectly balanced house-made dressing.
With this being one of the "Day's Specials", there is no guarantee it's available all the time. But if it happens to be when you are there, I highly recommend ordering it.
This fairly new Ang Mo Kio spot offers good coffee, pancakes, baked goods, and simple mains like Fish and Chips or Pasta Carbonara. It's a nestled in a pretty quiet area, check them out for a quiet weekend respite !
