It was served with various sauces such as on top, so one needs to help yourself to the condiment bar. Quite yummy but slightly more on the spicy side.

Recently I visited SMU and realized that a Mala store had took over the space formerly occupied by Ima-Sushi. The outlet offers a range of noodle dishes done in Chinese style, plus mala in 4 different styles - Mala Mix (Dry), Bone Soup, Spicy Mala Soup, and Tomato Soup.

The ingredients available for mala was wide. Don’t forget to help yourself to the condiment bar where there’s various sauces such as chopped spring onion, sesame sauce, chopped chilli in soya sauce.

Pork Noodle + Sichuan Jelly + Ice Lemon Tea
The Marinated Pork Noodle with Sichuan Sauce 荤燃面 (UP S$6) was consisted of noodle tossed in sauce, topped with minced pork, chopped preserved vegetables, chopped peanuts, and chopped spring onions. Looked simple but tasted flavourful. Accompanied with a bowl of savoury broth.
Ended the meal with a huge bowl of refreshing but not too sweet Sichuan Jelly with Pineapples 菠萝冰粉 (UP S$3).

Interesting find inside the university, within walking distance from the MRT station. Offering affordable Japanese cuisine.

Aburi Cheese Gyudon (S$12.40+)
Tender slices of beef and onion over pipping hot rice, topped with shredded cheese which was torched before serving. Very filling one dish meal.

Tamago Miso Soup (S$1.50+)
Miso soup with cubes of tofu, seaweed and a flower egg in it.

Sakura Sparkling Lychee (S$4.00+)
Quite refreshing drink.

Rainbow Roll (S$16.90+) - seasonal item
Sushi roll topped with prawn, salmon, tuna, and shrimp roe, stuffed with tamago, kani, cucumber and Unagi.

Mini Truffle Barachirashi Don (S$12.90) - seasonal item
Cubes of sashimi, cucumber, tamago, and bits of truffle paste over rice with shredded radish, pickled ginger, wasabi by the side. Felt that the rice was slightly uneven cooked.

1st course of last nite's dinner.
Thank to @degourmet for introducing us to this restaurant. I had passed by the hotel so many time but never thought that there was so delicious food in here.
By the way I do not know if these dishes are available on the menu, or need to order in advance, coz the guy is such a regular customer here.
