Adorned with a chocolate flavoured tart shell, the interior of chocolate cream cheese was smooth, creamy, luscious with a subtle lingering bittersweet cocoa flavour that was fortunately not too sweet nor milky which I was afraid of (and kind of expecting it to be). The tart shell was firm and crisp as well! 💕 Having tried both versions at room temperature and hot, I personally prefer the latter where the bittersweet profile of the chocolate was more distinct. .

✨💛 So glad this flavour won over orange (even though CNY is approaching 😅) since I wasn’t a fan of the latter and yuzu had always been my favourite citrus fruit! Served with yuzu reduction sauce drizzled atop, admist the creamy, milky softserve came a tangy, citrusy flavour that was distinct, lingering and a refreshing one to the palate. The yuzu reduction sauce added a pleasant tinge of subtle sweetness to the softserve as well, with a thick, purée-like texture. On a side note, certainly looking forward to the launch of a seasonal yuzu parfait which supposed to be launched today but due to some issues, was delayed😥. But that’s okay, as good thing are worth waiting for 😌.

Wear black and get 50 cents off the bamboo charcoal softserve that’s available at Isetan’s ongoing Miyazaki fair, till 25 January! Shown in frame is the small serving, with your choice of cup/cone. Texture wise, the bamboo charcoal softserve was soft, smooth and creamy with a melt-in-the mouth texture. Be sure to consume it fast as otherwise it might turn into a messy dripping pool (swipe to view 🙈). Enhanced with the addition of charcoal that’s present as tiny, grainy bits embedded within the smooth and creamy black softserve, the fragrant and slightly milky vanilla-alike flavour was a satisfaction to the palate, not too sweet that I could easily consume a large portion on my own. Did you know? Bamboo charcoal is said to reduce toxins and detoxify the body, hence a simple indulgence like this might turn out to be a blessing in disguise! 🖤 [PS: Many thanks to the friendly and kind staff for offering me the stand as a prop for my phototaking] .

A pretty new softserve joint that’s situated a stone’s throw away from its sister-alike @overrun.sg , with a greater offering in flavours and sizes! Had initially wanted to try the Nutella brownie cheesecake flavour but unfortunately, it was not available. Nevertheless, this top selling flavour Ondeh Ondeh left me with no regrets! ✨ A gula melaka softserve that comes with Pandan sauce, dessicated coconut and shredded coconut flakes, like a deconstructed ondeh ondeh- the Peranakan kueh that we are all familiar with. The softserve is smooth and slightly creamy but melts rather fast - pictures must be quick! 😉 Not too sweet regular cup was just nice for one simple indulgence 💖. The coconut flakes added a grainy, fibrous texture to the soft cold treat, enhanced with the fragrance of Pandan sauce. //
Was lucky enough to be the last customer when I went at around 6.30pm. Be prepared for long queue on weekends hence do come early to avoid disappointment 😅 .

This was actually my virgin try on @yolesingapore , with the descendent of @llaollaosg 👋. Apart from the original flavour, there’s a new weekly flavour at Yole and for this week, it’s Blueberry. Can’t decide on which flavour to get? You can opt for the twist (dual flavours) which was what I did for the best of both worlds! ✨ Coupled with my all time favourite luscious cookie sauce, strawberries and chocolate biscuits for the crunch, the froyo is smooth, creamy and tangy with a fruity sweetness of blueberries. The original didn’t really had much significant difference to its ancestor llaollao IMO. What really made a difference was the addition of new variety of crunches in Yole and sauces. (PS: the last day to try blueberry flavour would be on 21st jan, Sunday before the launch of another new weekly flavour.) .

Do note that the kyoho grape softserve is not part of this beverage but an add-on upon special request. Thanks @matchayasg for the special customization and it was amazing how the softserve managed to stay afloat on the non ice blended beverage! ✨ It was initially served in a perfect, straight up form but unfortunately, due to my careless hands, part of it slanted to one side 😢. The triple layer beverage comprised of a base layer of kyoho grape, topped with fresh milk and lastly a freshly whisked uji matcha shot.However this visual effects is only a temporary feast for the sight as you would have to mix everything together to drink it. The end result was one that was refreshing, with a pleasant fruity sweetness and a subtle earthy note of matcha. The matcha flavour is distinct albeit mild, with the bulk of flavours coming from the milky, fruity sweetness of kyoho grapes mixed in with fresh milk that somehow reminded me of a less sweet version of ribena. On the other hand, the kyoho grape softserve could be a tad sweet for those without a sweet tooth and hence I was recommended to consume it separately from the beverage to prevent a conflict with the uji matcha shot. Despite the seemingly exotic combination, the end result surprisingly turned out to be one that was refreshing, enjoyable, though not an ideal choice for the current rainy season 😅 . .

💜 Adorned with an exterior polished, Snow White cream coating, the cake came in a pretty huge and thick slice, with purple sweet potato mousse sandwiched between two alternating layers of purple sweet potato chiffon-like sponge. The purple sweet potato mousse was my favourite element here, with a creamy texture and a luscious, pleasant tinge of characteristic sweetness. The sponge was soft and fluffy, not too dry and well balanced with a thin layer of smooth, cotton-like cream. Simply can’t get over this cake and I even polished off the entire portion all by myself despite having a heavy lunch prior to this 🙈.

The green tea latte, on the other hand, was decent but too milky for my liking. Thankfully it wasn’t too sweet though the matcha flavour could have been more distinct. However, I do adore the fact that a thick matcha shot was served at the side for one to self adjust the intensity. Personally I would very much prefer to consume the shot in silo instead as it didn’t have much significant effect when incorporated into the warm matcha latte.
Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience with a welcoming, vibrant ambience that’s great to chill and hang out with your friends or for some me-time. There’s also 2 levels available for dining, both decked with lush greenery and an eco-friendly theme. Swipe to view the interior! 🌿🍀🌱 Hopefully there would be an outlet here in the near future? 👉🏻👈🏻

Mine came with almond crunch instead of salted cornflakes which was a fortunate incident for me as I m huge fan of the almond crunch toppings here 💖. The toasted popcorn, however, paled in comparison apart from contributing to an additional crisp factor. The cornsilk green tea softserve isn’t the matcha kind of green tea as expected, with a light, mild note which I wasn’t a fan of. Suited for those with a lighter palate and if you are in need of a refreshing cold treat for the humid weather, I strongly recommend getting the bottles beverage instead (which is cheaper with a more distinct flavour). Paling much in comparison to the previous black beauty tea, I do hope that the next rotational flavour: osmanthus oolong would live up to expectations 🙏🏻 .

Dusted with what seemed like icing sugar, the snowflakes imparted a Christmas alike theme that is suited for the approaching seasons of giving ❄️. The darker version of Nama choc unfortunately had no significant difference to the original version IMO. However I still enjoyed the luscious, bittersweet chocolatey flavour and the creamy, thick texture of the softserve 💖. It was still a rich, intense and chocolatey one that had a lingering bittersweet flavour. Though I wouldn’t mind for a higher intensity definitely 😝. [PS: only available at the Icon village outlet].

Baked by @chefyamashita exclusively for the Tochigo Prefecture event at @japanrailcafe (1-3 Dec), this dessert was my ultimate bias among all! 💖 Laying atop a crisp, fragrant almond tart lies sweet, juicy strawberries, blueberries and smooth, light and fluffy whipped cream. Not only was it photogenic but the taste was just as great with the almond tart carrying off a lingering buttery fragrance and having a tart shell that came with an ideal crisp perfection ❤️. The portion was just nice for one, without being too overwhelming for the palate and the slight acidic notes from the berries provided a tangy dimension to alleviate the sweetness. The whipped cream was also cotton-like and smooth, with a melt-in-the mouth texture. And the main highlight- Tochigo strawberries air flown from Japan that was really juicy, fresh with a slight lingering tanginess amidst the natural fruity sweetness. Sincerely hoping that @chefyamashita would consider having this as a permanent item in their menu hehe! XD

A great deal not to be missed 👍🏻👍🏻 This is actually my virgin try on the once highly raved cheese tarts (apart from the one I tried in Hong Kong) 🙊. The crust is crisp and firm, slightly crumbly and best eaten when consumed right on the spot or warmed up slightly in the oven! (WARNING: DO NOT microwave 🙅🏻‍♀️) The interior of cream cheese was creamy, luscious and surprisingly not too overwhelming that I could easily pop two tarts in one seating. Really enjoyed it though the flow of cream cheese wasn’t exactly that glamorous and appealing (or perhaps my cutting skills are just horrible 😅 - swipe to view!). Worth the try, given the awesome ongoing promo now and best of all, NO QUEUE ✌🏻.

It’s back on the menu for the month of December, along with a specific tea flavour on a weekly rotational basis! ✨ Swipe to the end to view their weekly offerings for the tea flavours. For this week, black beauty tea 黑美人 is available till 11/12. Hopefully one would become 美 (beautiful) after having it? 😉 Served along with salted cornflakes and black sesame pearls, the softserve was smooth but a tad icy for my liking. The black beauty tea had a lingering and distinct tannic flavour that comes as a fragrant, aromatic experience to tea lovers.l (and I m glad to be one 🙆🏻‍♀️). The salted cornflakes, besides contributing to a pleasant crunch factor, also provided yet another dimension of flavour, with its subtle saltiness. The black sesame pearls (hidden below the softserve, swipe twice to view) was chewy with a surprisingly distinct roasted flavour. Not a black sesame fan hence I wont be able to provide a good judgement for this, but the characteristic roasted flavour was distinct IMO. Perhaps not for the hardcore black sesame fans though .
