They serve up Japanese-European fare & cocktails in a cosy, small space with warm mood lighting - great for a romantic date night (we were the only table there).. Although I understand they are also booked out for parties as well, which can get pretty wild.

👆🏻 That was the explanation given to me when I was informed that the chef wasn't in that day (is it he hungover, lol). Would've appreciated being informed beforehand, but since I was there already .... It is what it is.

The word "speakeasy" is thrown around increasingly often nowadays... Entrance somewhat falls into this space, being somewhat incognito & located on the 2nd floor - through the brass door of unit 22A on the ground floor.

Why hello there. I'm always up for some beef tartare - especially since I can't eat raw fish, I might as well eat other kinds of raw stuff to make up for it...

LeVeL33's Hand-Cut Beef Tartare ($24++) came recommended to me by several foodie friends - & I'm glad that it lived up to expectations. Shared this amongst our party of 4 & it was enjoyed by all.

It tastes as delightful as it looks! Fun fact: The shallots are pickled in LeVeL33's Blond Lager 😉 Give the yolk a good mix in & enjoy how creamy it is with the handcut beef. The pickled cucumbers, capers & mustard lend acidity to balance this out in every mouthful.

Lumo is a perfect cosy space for date night - unfortunately I didn't take a photo (only a video), so you'll have to take my word for it. Here's a picture of my favourite dish of the night instead: Bone Marrow on Sourdough ($28++), from their Meats menu.

The melt-in-your-mouth marrow & veal jus was so flavourful.. Spread on the slices of toasted crispy sourdough, this was quite divine & addictive. The yellow frisée salad tossed in a light vinaigrette lent some acidity to cut through the gelatinous bites of goodness - t'was refreshing.

Shared this with a friend, but honestly I could've eaten this on my own, teehee. Thumbs up from me.

Considering how the dining space at The Seagrill isn't large, the menu here is quite sizeable. Quite atypically, I appreciated this al fresco dining spot along Changi Beach, made even more comfortable with the cool breeze in the evening.

There was one pesky housefly that kept bothering me & my dinner (maybe cos we sat at the outermost tables), but I'd attribute that to how scrumptious the food is.

Chug's prime beef burger ($18.90+) was smaller than I expected, but is packed with good ingredients. The beef patty was juicy, & I especially enjoyed the cheese pairing the slightly creamy monterey jack with the sharpness of the aged cheddar. The layer of onion jam in between punctuated the burger with delightful sweetness, as did the arugula with it's herbal crunch. Shoestring fries were really good, too. Crispy, & the Taste of Potato really came through - just how I like my fries.

But would I come here again? Nope. I'm not a huge fan of waiting for almost forever. I'm sure there are lots who'd beg to differ - e.g. the boisterous young'uns I was surrounded with tonight.

The Ribeye Steak ($26++) is part of the Burpple Beyond 1-for-1 menu options. 220g of New Zealand Grass-fed Black Angus Ribeye. It's a simple hunk of steak, with not much else to the dish. It lies on a light swoosh of Purple Potato Mash that wasn't very carby, & has a small side of sauteed baby spinach for you to get your veggies & fibre in.

I opted for my usual medium rare, but was afraid that at this thickness it'd be a little tough. But it wasn't! It was also seasoned pretty well; I didn't need to dip it in the veal jus served on the side - though that was tasty too. (My dad lapped it up quite eagerly...)

I remember the days where Hopscotch was a cosy bar inside the Red Dot Traffic Building, whipping up a good variety of novelty cocktails. They haven't deviated from this specialty, but the vibes here now are quite different in the hipster/artsy enclave of Gillman Barracks.

They still keep things interesting, changing their menu up once in a while. They're on their 5th menu at the moment, with Singapore or Asian themed cocktails.

Winestone is a little out of the way to get to, but the ambience here makes up for it. Somewhat classy, but not pompous or stuffy. You could dine here with a friend, a date, or for business.

I dined here in the evening, which isn't the most ideal for food photography - but I reckon the floor to ceiling glass windows will give you ample natural light in the mornings!

Burpple 1-for-1 brought me here; I was dead set on their pastas, & had a bit of dilemma on what to order from their Taste of Italy menu. Everything sounded good.

Finally. I made my way down to The Feather Blade. Shopback GO may or may not have a part to play in this..... There was 10% cashback boost til a couple of days ago, I knew I had to visit! That promotion's done with, but their usual 5% cashback is still pretty bomb.

Queued for 15 mins slightly past 8PM on a weekday; got a seat at the bar counter for myself. Not too shabby.

Wasn't asked how I'd like my steak ($21++), but it was done medium rare, which is how I'd like it to begin with. Very pleased with the steak as much as the side of Mushrooms ($7++) that I ordered.

If you're looking for #propersteaks, this is the place to be. Yes, it reminds me of Flat Iron in London, but so what? Give me a delicious steak & you'll make me very happy. 🥩
