Chug's prime beef burger ($18.90+) was smaller than I expected, but is packed with good ingredients. The beef patty was juicy, & I especially enjoyed the cheese pairing the slightly creamy monterey jack with the sharpness of the aged cheddar. The layer of onion jam in between punctuated the burger with delightful sweetness, as did the arugula with it's herbal crunch. Shoestring fries were really good, too. Crispy, & the Taste of Potato really came through - just how I like my fries.

But would I come here again? Nope. I'm not a huge fan of waiting for almost forever. I'm sure there are lots who'd beg to differ - e.g. the boisterous young'uns I was surrounded with tonight.

I didn't Vivino, I promise.

Excellent service, scrumptious bites, & let's just say my first foray into natural wines has set the benchmark pretty damn high.

Food & wine labels for reference below - not at your Everyday Eats kind of price point, but at least they were delicious:

The Ribeye Steak ($26++) is part of the Burpple Beyond 1-for-1 menu options. 220g of New Zealand Grass-fed Black Angus Ribeye. It's a simple hunk of steak, with not much else to the dish. It lies on a light swoosh of Purple Potato Mash that wasn't very carby, & has a small side of sauteed baby spinach for you to get your veggies & fibre in.

I opted for my usual medium rare, but was afraid that at this thickness it'd be a little tough. But it wasn't! It was also seasoned pretty well; I didn't need to dip it in the veal jus served on the side - though that was tasty too. (My dad lapped it up quite eagerly...)

I remember the days where Hopscotch was a cosy bar inside the Red Dot Traffic Building, whipping up a good variety of novelty cocktails. They haven't deviated from this specialty, but the vibes here now are quite different in the hipster/artsy enclave of Gillman Barracks.

They still keep things interesting, changing their menu up once in a while. They're on their 5th menu at the moment, with Singapore or Asian themed cocktails.

Winestone is a little out of the way to get to, but the ambience here makes up for it. Somewhat classy, but not pompous or stuffy. You could dine here with a friend, a date, or for business.

I dined here in the evening, which isn't the most ideal for food photography - but I reckon the floor to ceiling glass windows will give you ample natural light in the mornings!

Burpple 1-for-1 brought me here; I was dead set on their pastas, & had a bit of dilemma on what to order from their Taste of Italy menu. Everything sounded good.

Finally. I made my way down to The Feather Blade. Shopback GO may or may not have a part to play in this..... There was 10% cashback boost til a couple of days ago, I knew I had to visit! That promotion's done with, but their usual 5% cashback is still pretty bomb.

Queued for 15 mins slightly past 8PM on a weekday; got a seat at the bar counter for myself. Not too shabby.

Wasn't asked how I'd like my steak ($21++), but it was done medium rare, which is how I'd like it to begin with. Very pleased with the steak as much as the side of Mushrooms ($7++) that I ordered.

If you're looking for #propersteaks, this is the place to be. Yes, it reminds me of Flat Iron in London, but so what? Give me a delicious steak & you'll make me very happy. ๐Ÿฅฉ

There's still time to take advantage of Chope's deal at Ash & Elm! For the month of August (2019), all items on their "From the Pan" menu are at 50% off of you book via Chope & use the code CE8AE. Valid for dinner only, & other Terms & Conditions apply - check the Chope app for more details.

It was my first time here & I was impressed by the ambience. It's a nice place to go on a date... Then again, I expect no less, it being located inside the lovely Hotel Intercontinental.

So far, the biggest savings I've had per dish with Burpple Beyond is at Forlino. & for the quality of the food I got, I'd actually pay full price for some of these.

Service here is good, & the ambience here is fantastic. Come here just before the sun sets, so that as you wine & dine, you get the best of both worlds - day & night.

My first time dining at iSteaks Diner & I really wonder why I hadn't been here sooner! They have a variety of options on the Grill Specialties menu: Chicken, pork, lamb, fish, & of course, steak. I opted for the 350g Steak House Cut, which is also available in a 450g portion.

I chose the NZ Ribeye cut ($30 nett), done medium rare. Man, this was juicy & good! I could cut away the fats easily (didn't have too much yay), & the doneness was perfect. It also wasn't overseasoned, & I cheerfully alternated my bites between the steak on its own, & dipped into the mushroom sauce served on the side.

All Grill Specialties come with complementary 2 sides of your choice (which would otherwise cost $2.50 each on their own). There are over 15 sides to choose from; I dare say say there's something for everyone here. I chose the Sautรฉed Brussel (i.e. Brussel Sprouts) & Parmesan Asparagus - the latter was served later, for some reason, so it isn't pictured here.

Both are good veggie options that complement the steak well. You have more sinful options like creamed spinach, onion rings, french fries, mac & cheese (is disappointing - the nacho cheese used doesn't even taste nice)... But having just completed an intense workout, I wanted to be healthy-ish.

Would definitely return here for sure. I finally understand why this place is so popular ๐Ÿ˜

Honestly, I didn't expect much from the Angus Burger ($18.90+). That might have contributed to me being pleasantly surprised by it.

A juicy 120g beef patty that is flavourful but NOT salty, sandwiched in between 2 fluffy buns. Sautรฉed onions that add caramelised sweetness. Mushrooms that give it that earthy flavour. & sliced cheese - which, anticlimactically, was quite basic but somehow it works.

I happily chowed down on this; while it isn't the best burger ever, it delighted my tastebuds. However, I don't think I'd pay full price for this. But half price thanks to Eatigo via Shopback.... Sure!

The Premium Ribeye Steak ($18.90+) is a nice 200g slab that is fairly thin. Upon first glance, I was afraid it might be overcooked from the medium rare I requested for; but as I dug in, my fears were allayed.

This is one of the rare times that I feel the sauce served with a steak is enjoyable. The pepper sauce isn't OVERLY peppery nor briney. I actually poured it over my steak before tucking in - very much a rarity.

The steak, as with all mains, is served with a side of fries & mesclun salad. Pretty standard, nothing too fancy. Fries are on the oily side & could be crisper. I actually prefer the lightness of the mesclun salad to the fries! Another rarity!

Had a delicious meal at Arbora perched on top of Mount Faber; they had a Mothers' Day promotion of a complimentary main course for mum with every 3 main courses ordered - perfect for our family of 4. They have both an outdoor (al fresco) & indoor (air-conditioned) area for dining; we opted for indoors because we are a sweaty family ๐Ÿ˜‚

Our lunch was delicious & served fairly quickly; I was impressed. We had the Herb Roasted Half Chicken ($21++), Barramundi ($29++), Creamy Carbonara ($21++), Lobster Napoli ($28++), & Chempedak Bread & Butter ($13++).

My favourites were the pastas; I felt they were delicious & of a good portion. Also pleased with the dessert as it is fairly unique & also tasty.

Unfortunately there was a bit of a miscommunication at the end of our meal when we called for the bill (which took a while to settle) - nothing too dramatic, no tables were flipped. It was solved amicably after I gave my honest feedback.

I was going to write this positive review anyway because this place deserves it; good food, sweet view, nice ambience & friendly service. But I must say that I am also impressed with their service recovery & sincerity. Special thanks to William who took the effort to call me even after I left with an explanation. I really appreciate it.

If you intend to dine here in the month of May, make your reservation on Chope & use the code CD5AB to get 300 extra Chope$. Don't say bojio ๐Ÿ˜Ž If you drive, they have complimentary valet service if you spend $60 on food, which is an added bonus.
