I don’t normally fancy Korean sides, but theirs is quite good! We dined close to their lunch closing so the spread is not as much, but quality is 👌🏻. Beansprouts are notable, crunchy and perfectly spiced

True to its name, we were given three-layer fat pork belly barbecued and served on a sizzling platter. Lightly seasoned with salt and pepper and partnered with kimchi, gochujang and lettuce on the side
Try to not let it sit for too long as the meat gets slightly tough

This chilly weather got me thinking of this sundubu jjigae from Three Meals A Day. With just the right amount of spice, this piping hot stew is comforting, filling, and satisfying. Topped with either seafood or pork (opted for the former), their generous serving makes the broth more savoury yet still clear. But the success of this dish is from their perfectly cooked soft tofu, which seeped all the flavours of the stew
Would enjoy it better with a runny egg topping (overcooked alr) and without broken mussel shells 😅 loved this decently priced dish nonetheless

Been passing by this place for a long while but only got to try it recently, and wow, no wonder they are always a full-house
Opted for their assorted soontofu (beef, clam, crab, shrimp, and squid) served with rice in hot stone, as well as sides. Hearty dish - good spice level (can be customised), really soft homemade tofu, piping hot rice
Sides are refillable, except for the fried yellowfish (this is good also)
Enjoyed my meal, filling and really comforting

Had this platter of skewers as a starter before diving into Seorae’s Ultimate Mix Set ($98++, not in the photo). This actually was a good idea as we got to try a mix of different meats (enoki beef belly, cheese beef belly, kimchi pork belly, spicy enoki pork belly, and pyogo-beoseot) in a less hassle manner (ie the ush kbbq grilling activities)
Nothing too special though with the skewers, nor the meat included in the Ultimate Mix Set, but their sundubu jigae (not in the photo) is notable! It’s so flavourful and serving is very generous with the clams and tofu

Though I am more accustomed to having grilled pork belly when I have Korean, Bigmama’s steamed Suyuk is equally enjoyable. We were served with thinly-sliced unseasoned pork belly. The staff demonstrated how to enjoy this dish 3 ways:
✨ dip the pork in either the lemon garlic sauce (1) or black bean sauce (2) and eat it together with a strip of cucumber, or
✨ place the pork on top a pickled radish and top it with spiced bean sprouts (3)
Personally enjoyed having it the second way - the black bean sauce and the cucumber complements each other and enhances the flavor of the suyuk 👌🏻
Set A: Dakgalbi (2pax), Suyuk (L), Galbisal, Buchu Jeon, Rice (4)

This pancake is cooked beautifully with right amount of thickness and crisp on the edges + softness of the filling & with generous amount of chopped garlic chives and shrimps. There’s a soy sauce dipping as well, but it’s not necessary at all, as the dish is good as it is

Used to have this dish at least 1-2x a month when we were working in office, as it’s a no frills, quick, relatively cheap neighbourhood choice. Working from home for more than 2y now and decided it’s finally time to try it again lol
For me, the teriyaki chicken is the best among their bibimbap choices, mainly due to their mayo 😅 Sadly, the sauce has become lesser, and the overall portion is also smaller *cues inflation here*. Taste is exactly how I remember it - good combination of crispy chicken and cereal flakes, shredded veggies, and mayo that wraps it all together

Got a big chunk of red bean on top the ice, plus chewy rice cakes above it, and a few injeolmi as well.
One thing I like with Nunsongyee’s bingsu (not just this flavor) is it doesn’t come too sweet, unlike some other brands I’ve tried. :)
Though there’s a Hougang-exclusive flavor (thai milk tea bingsu), I still played safe and had pat bingsu ($12.90). Got a big chunk of red bean on top the ice, plus chewy rice cakes above it, and a few injeolmi as well.
One thing I like with Nunsongyee’s bingsu (not just this type) is it doesn’t come too sweet, unlike some other brands I’ve tried. I have yet to try the thai milk tea one tho! Btw, their cafe’s ambience is sooo relaxing. Try to visit :D

Bibimbap!
Perfect for those who don’t like the taste of veggies but wants to get sufficient amount of veg nutrients in their body 😂 love this teriyaki chicken bibimbap - has small chunks of chicken plus a good amount of very crunchy veggies too. Scored this at $8.50! Very filling and looks hella healthy. Take note of the long queue as the place could get a bit packed at noon :)

I totally had no idea there's Bonchon here, and being a fan back home, it got me super excited when I saw this! Ordered small wings ($8.90+) plus a side of rice. The batter used is still how I remembered it, making the skin very crispy and savoury. Finished the set in no time 💁🏻
