Hong Kong
The you tiao was light and crispy, wrapped in thin and silky cheong fun. My all time favorite.
Was disappointed as it was supposed to be their star dish. It was very oily and one dimensional. SG has nicer beef hor fun with richer flavor and wok hei.
Finally I got to savour it without going through the woes of queuing. Hmm heavenly!
The batter was thin and squid wasn't tough. Had expected the dish to be quite salty but it wasn't.
Not wanting to get a shock when billing, we opt for the set menu instead of picking our own seafood. Set menu includes 4 dishes plus complimentary veg and dessert. The lobster e-fu noodles was cooked in a cheese sauce which is different from the typical cream sauce elsewhere. The portion was small so it wasn't jelat.
Chilled dessert which was refreshing for the summer 😍
It was about 30 mins wait despite we trying to go during the ulu timing. The staff were warm and friendly. This is one of my favorite dim sum which is also their hot item.
The croissant was so addictive and reasonably priced that we went back the next day for breakfast. Outer crust was similar to that of polo buns; it tasted of custard and was very crusty and shattered once we started cutting it. The croissant was flaky. Salted yolk lava within was creamy and plentiful which spewed with every cut even at the corners 😍 The croissant was overall on the oily and heavy side and could get a little jelat but it was sheer indulgence.
Probably I ordered the soup version, the noodles didn't have a strong alkaline taste, and also had a springy texture. The shrimp dumplings were very savory and juicy, shrimps were bouncy and it was delightful to find bamboo shoots within.
Read so much about the nasty service that many customers had encountered, so we tried to avoid the peak hours by visiting during dinner time. We didn't get scoldings from the staff for taking photos and not eating fast 😅 The scrambled egg is really ADC's signature dish; moist, fluffy and flavorful. Wished I'd gone back for more. The macaroni was just a very average dish and nothing to rave about.
