Located on the same street as the famous Naughty Nuri, Raw Power House has proven to be one of Desa Sri Hartamas’ hidden gems. The half-lot restaurant has quite a wide range of healthy food to choose from, including open faced sandwiches and customised salads. I ordered a trio of open faced wholegrain toasts, all served with a ricotta cheese spread. The Sweet Figs & Ricotta Cheese (RM8) won me over with the mild sweetness of figs that paired really well with the grainy texture of ricotta cheese and nutty wholegrain toast. Also good is the Avocado Chili Flake Toast (RM10), which was super creamy with a spicy kick. End your meal with the White (RM15), a wonderful, healthy drink combining coconut, cinnamon and chia seeds — so refreshing especially in Malaysia's hot and humid weather.

Epic Fit Meals is known to count calories for every dish so that customers get to be epic fit while enjoying their food! The picture doesn't really do much justice but my meal was amazing — the Epic Combo 2 (RM18.80) serves a succulent grilled chicken topped with tasty, low-calorie gravy, cauliflower rice and a side of absolutely delicious and mayonnaise-free coleslaw. After that fulfilling (low-calorie) meal, get a Red Apple Honey Smoothie (RM8.80) to wash it all down. If grilled chicken isn't your thing, try their new Epic Chummy Burgers (RM15.80) or the Ramadan Special — Nasi Lemak Lite (RM9.80), a super healthy yet yummy version of our national dish!

Nestled in Plaza Damansara, this vegan-inspired cafe offers healthy desserts that knock regular desserts out of the park. The Raw Chocolate Fudge and Banana Parfait (RM15.90) is their vegan and gluten-free rendition of a parfait layered with raw chocolate, date and walnut fudge, bananas, homemade granola and creamy cashew cream as a replacement for yogurt. The combination is unbelievably good! Besides the range of desserts, Raisin' The Roof also offers wraps, salads and an intriguing House Made "Nice-Cream" (RM4) — an after-meal indulgence that is free of dairy, gluten, vegetable fat and refined sugar.

BMS Organics turns our local favourites like curry, bak kut teh and asam laksa into healthier vegetarian alternatives so that we can enjoy their full flavours without the guilt! I had the Organic Soy Milk Curry Set, which includes brown rice, tofu, edamame, a side salad, black beans and an orange slice. The soy curry was surprisingly aromatic and flavourful, and featured a meat substitute called seitan. The Japanese mock meat is jam-packed with protein! The rice however, was a little under portioned so feel free to order another serving if you need. The value for money set (RM25.90) also comes with green tea, ginger tea and spirulina pills, and most of their dishes are vegan-friendly too!

A good healthy meal doesn't have to be super complicated with a bunch of fancy ingredients, and this Chicken Quinoa Wrap (RM21.90) at Goodness Greens is the perfect example of that. Perfectly grilled chicken strips and some garden greens wrapped in a wholemeal wrap, and topped with alfalfa sprouts, served with their special homemade sambal and a warm soup on the side. Simple but so good! I think the wrap is best paired with a bottle of Summer Zest (RM8.90) by La Juiceria — a refreshing combination of orange and pineapple juice that's also chock full of anti-inflammatory effects!

Chai Bar is my favourite salad bar of ALL time! Aside from their seasonal and preset salads, they also allow you to customise salads with a super fun and varied selection of greens, toppings, dressings and proteins — think tamago furikake and coffee sriracha mayo. I had a mixed lettuce base with roasted sweet potatoes, croutons, onions, cucumber, chickpeas, grilled chicken, strawberry balsamic vinegrette and tomato salsa (RM20.50) — yum! Greens were as fresh as they could be and the dressing goes really well with the juicy grilled chicken. I also recommend a delicious Avococo Smoothie (RM12.50), which combines avocado, cocoa powder and coconut milk, to complete the meal.

At Opika Organic Market & Restaurant, every ingredient used is certified organic. For RM28.90, my Opika Multi-Grain Fried Rice was a generous serving of rice, salad, pickled vegetables, delicious homemade prawn sambal and free-range chicken satay! The sambal and pickled vegetables lend an extra spicy and sour kick to the flavourful fried rice. Though it may be slightly more expensive than other healthy restaurants, I personally think the portions are more than your money's worth.

Simple Life is located in the KLCC food court, to the rescue of office workers in the area looking to have a tasty and nutritious lunch. The small kiosk can be pretty easy to miss, but keep your eyes peeled for their trademark white and green logo. Come by during your lunch break for the simple yet comforting Fried Soy Noodle (RM12.90) or Fried Brown Rice Ramen (RM12.90). The small kitchen doesn't seem to stop them from serving delicious, healthy meals!
