A fuss-free, takeaway kiosk situated conveniently at Tanjong Pagar Centre that features a healthy concept of grain bowls, one can choose to customize your own or select from the pre-fixed menu (swipe to the end to view the offerings) .

With that, I chose to customize my own bowl with :
Base: buckwheat soba noodles + purple & green cabbage
Greens: Broccoli, cucumber, edamame, carrots, radish
Protein: Chef’s special - herbs garlic butter chicken leg [+$3] with Aburi Mentaiko [+$2]
Dressing : Truffle shoyu πŸ’–
Lux it up: Onsen egg
Crunch: Nori, sesame seeds .

Portion was indeed huge and generous which could have easily served as 2 meals for me instead! πŸ˜… What I adored most in the bowl is the aburi mentaiko that’s torched on the spot upon order, creamy with a pleasant umami flavour that complements the proteins- typically the salmon, that’s also a popular option here! The grilled chicken leg was tender and succulent, well marinated, though the flavour and fragrance of garlic herbs butter was overwhelmed by the Mentaiko, I certainly did not mind it (being a huge fan of Mentaiko❀️). Along with a medley of assorted greens that added a pleasant crunch factor and juicy mouthfeel, the truffle shoyu dressing was truly a great complement to the buckwheat soba noodles (tucked beneath the pile of greens) with its distinct, lingering truffle aroma that perfumes up the entire bowl! ✨ Remember to toss the bowl well for a well balanced flavour (and diet) πŸ˜‰! .

With your choice of dry or soup, each Yong Tau Foo comes with 6 pieces of ingredients, on a bed of yellow noodles. I opted for the dry version and mine came with a small pot of corn soup, as well as condiments such as sweet sauce, chilli sauce and sambal chilli paste. Not a fan of yellow noodles (in fact I loathe it) but with the addition of the chilli sauce, my initial fear and dread was overcome with the tangy, flavourful note of the sauce arriving to the rescue πŸ˜…. The sambal chilli was also fragrant and aromatic, with a tinge of spice that could have been more intense. Nevertheless, it served as a great accompaniment to the deep fried components, which were all done to an ideal crisp exterior ✨. Note that this place is vegetarian and hence all the components present are meatless, though looks might be deceiving 🀭. Only available for a limited period, this satay chicken burger bento is also served with a side of sweet potato tater tots and mesclun salad with honey miso dressing. A thick slab of boneless chicken fillet topped with satay rempah, wakame, sliced cheddar and a sunny side up sandwiched between two soft and fluffy sesame brioche. The chicken was tender, meaty and slightly succulent, with the rempah contributing to a flavourful, fragrant profile, coupled with a tinge of aromatic spice. Wished that the cheese was melted, instead of a thick hardened slice. Nevertheless, the other components were still a satisfaction to the palate, with the wakame providing a pleasant crunch and the sunny side up possessing a vibrant orangey yolk too 😍. Though a pity it didn’t turn out to be flowy as expected 😒. In addition, I am glad (and relieved) that the sweet potato tater tots this time round aren’t charred unlike my previous visit, with a crisp exterior and a pleasantly sweet interior of sweet potato mash. The mesclun salad provided a refreshing crunch and ending to the meal, coupled with a side of sweet honey miso dressing that’s certainly a great condiment that I even paired it with the tater tots and burger buns as wellπŸ™ˆ. Hopefully this burger would remain in the permanent menu πŸ™πŸ» .

Hong Kong style braised crispy noodles in a thick herbal gravy sauce, served with shiitake and king oyster mushrooms, tofu puffs, Chinese cabbage and egg(optional). A vegetarian eatery offering wide range of cuisines, ranging from western (burgers, cutlets), Italian(pizzas) korean(kimchi fried rice, mee hoon kuey etc) to Asian delights such as this dish featured here. Was pleasantly surprised when it was presented to me as I was expecting a clear herbal soup such as those in bak ku teh instead of a thick, lumpy gravy that’s usually present in hor fun. Nevertheless, being a fan of the latter, I enjoyed this thick gravy that was flavourful with a subtle herbal flavour which wasn’t too overwhelming. The noodles are essentially those you see in Sheng Mian that’s crispy (before being drown in a pool of gravy). Along with a generous portion of meatless ingredients from chewy, juicy king oyster and shiitake mushrooms, crunchy Chinese cabbage, soft tofu puffs to silky shredded egg omelette, there’s also wolfberries present within for an extra boost of anti-oxidant! ✨ Overall, a hearty and satisfying dish that’s a great comfort to indulge in sin-lessly, especially when the weather shows no mercy with a sudden downpour😌.

The lion mane mushroom patty had a crisp and well breaded panko-crusted exterior, with a β€˜tender’ and slightly chewy interior. Always a great meatless substitute with a texture that highly resembled that of real meat! πŸ‘πŸ» The sautΓ©ed white button mushrooms contributed to a characteristic pleasant earthy note, with a soft and chewy texture whereas the addition of black pepper truffle mayo brought out a smoky flavour with a subtle lingering truffle aroma. Along with fresh, crisp coral lettuce, this has became one of my favourite burgers here that I wouldn’t mind giving it a second try! ✨
PS: I am always spoilt for choice here with their wide variety of burger flavours πŸ™ˆ. What’s more, with the 50% off anniversary special today, I was almost tempted to order the entire menu πŸ˜….

The homemade satay sauce was the main highlight here, with a fragrant, nutty flavour coupled with an aromatic tinge of spice that was distinct, lingering and not too overwhelming. A great companion to the tempeh patty that was crisp and well marinated ✨. Along with the crunch of sliced Japanese cucumbers and fresh coral lettuce, a vegan satay was just as great and enjoyable (minus the guilt and sin too! πŸ™ƒ) . The shot of cider (complimentary for all dine in mains) was a great way to kickstart the appetite but I would usually prefer to consume it after my meal as a palate cleanser instead. πŸ™ˆ

XD Comprising of seaweed soy patty (for the protein component), topped with β€œIkan bilis”- a clever substitution of dried, crispy mushrooms, roasted peanuts, cucumber slices, fresh coral lettuce and lastly, not forgetting the essential nasi lemak chilli. As a fan of spicy food, I would say the nasi lemak chilli here is no kick and I would personally prefer if there was a greater fiery factor! 😬 In fact the spicy satay sauce packs a greater punch of spice as compared to the chilli here. Nevertheless, this was still a winning combination that bears a striking resemblance to a leggit nasi lemak. The seaweed soy patty was flavourful and β€˜tender’ whereas the dried mushrooms and roasted peanuts added a pleasant crunch factor. Coupled with slices of cucumber that was crunchy, refreshing, each burger order comes with a small shot of apple cider that makes a great kickstart to the meal. Thanks @nomvnom_sg for the pleasant service and enjoyable meal that never fails to disappoint always. Lost count on the number of times I have tried the food at @nomvnom_sg (though it’s my first visit to the Tai seng outlet). No regrets indeed as being a fan of spicy food, this was shiok and not a great kick for me! ✌🏻 The mushroom stem patties were deep fried to a crisp, panko-crusted exterior while encasing chewy and juicy mushroom stems. Coupled with fresh coral lettuce and purple cabbage for a refreshing crunch, the spicy satay sauce was thick, creamy and flavourful with an aromatic, lingering spice that packs a punch! πŸ’₯ For a fulfilling meal, you can also opt for the combo meal where u get a burger, a side and a beverage at $2 off/ set. I opted for the mushroomy mashed potato as my side and cold matcha latte for the beverage. Featuring charcoal buns that comes with a spooky face πŸ‘½, each set is served with frizzy fries (yay to twister curly fries πŸ’–) and a witch’s kiwi brew (kiwi chiller πŸ₯πŸΈ). Encased within the soft and fluffy charcoal buns lies a thick layer of panko crusted soy patty, fried to a crisp and well-breaded perfection with a β€œtender” minced soy filling. Along with fresh crisp lettuce, tomato, onion rings (raw) , the burger also comes with barbecue sauce (slathered beneath the lettuce) and mayonnaise (on top of the tomato) that added a tangy note and a creamy texture. Love the frizzy twister fries that’s crispy and addictive, if only there was more!! 😬 The witch’s kiwi brew was pretty mediocre, just the usual kiwi flavored chiller with a unique presentation in a cup adorned with raspberry syrup on its edge. Though the raspberry syrup was kind of negligible here, given it’s mere presence that subsided within seconds 😒. Nevertheless, the kiwi brew is a mandatory refreshing chiller for the thriller! A vegan-ised version of the Singaporean famous local dish, this fiber-fueled wholemeal bun sandwiches a konjac "crab meat" plant protein patty, fresh romaine lettuce, topped with homemade chilli krab sauce made from handcrafted traditional rempah. An option to have it with or without onion&garlic, which I opted for the latter as I was on a strict vegan diet that day for some reason. Nevertheless, even without the addition of the spices, the sauce was flavourful and packs a punch! Tangy with a lingering spiciness, the rempah chilli "crab" sauce highly resembled those of the local tze char in terms of appearance and texture, a slightly thick and lumpy viscosity. The copious amount of sauce provided (PS: beware of your hands while eating) was literally dripping with each bite, providing the bulk of flavours to the "crabmeat" patty that came with a crisp battered exterior encasing a chunky, fishcake-alike interior of konjac. Along with a crunchy romaine lettuce, the bun was also soft and fluffy. Available as an ala carte or set meal (choice of broccoli/ fries), this burger was a tad pricier than the rest but certainly worth a try at least once if you are a fan of the signature local dish. What's more, you can also reserve through @eatigo_sg and enjoy savings of up to 50% off to lighten the burden to your wallet πŸ˜‰. Sweet potatoes (carb), ginger scallion tofu (protein), button mushrooms and broccoli (supplements), furikake (toppings), pesto vinaigrette (dressing) were my pick. As for the proteins, tofu was the only vegetarian option. There's also premium options e.g. Shrimp, salmon and steak at an additional cost. The tofu cubes were soft albeit firm and beancurd-like, without much seasoned flavours of ginger scallion. Fortunately that's when the dressing comes in handy, as well as the furikake toppings I had garnished atop. The pesto vinaigrette was creamy, thick with a characteristic minty herbaceous flavour, a complementary pairing to the tofu and mushrooms as well. Broccoli was crunchy and juicy whereas the mushrooms were well sautΓ©ed with a pleasant earthy note. Sweet potatoes were soft, dense with a subtle sweetness. Not quite a complementary element here and I would prefer having it in silo for a dessert / sweet fix after the meal instead. Perhaps rice/ wholewheat pasta would be a better option. For those on a greener and cleaner diet, there's also lettuce, baby spinach and quinoa for the carbs as well. A value for money, fuss-free and filling meal that's also convenient when you are in a rush of time, especially for the office crowd, given its location in the CBD district. .

The soy patty had a crisp golden brown exterior with a tender, juicy interior that highly resembled the texture of real meat. Love the creamy carbonara-alike sauce that paired well with the chewy and juicy button mushrooms that came with a pleasant earthy note. The artisan buns were soft and fluffy, embedded with pumpkin seeds and nuts for that extra fibre. For every set meal ordered, you get to choose between broccoli or seaweed fries for the side and a cup of cooler to go along with. My cravings for fast food yet trying to indulge with less guilt made possible with veganburg's plant based burgers that are both healthy and yummy!πŸ˜‹
