Their Nasi Lemak shop has been face lifted and looks very clean & organized than before. We went there for a takeaway at 1 pm and their Kuning fish and Otah are all gone which means there is no set 4 (Otah set) only set 2 (fish set) is left.

We are offered to replace kuning fish in set 2 with bigger sized fish and pay 50 cents extra. We cannot say we love the big fish as they are quite bony but we do enjoy their sweet chili, fried egg. Anchovies / peanut could have been fresher but the coconut rice still make this set a pleasant quick lunch! ๐Ÿฅฅ

Ordered this takeaway at lunch (15 mins from finished order until tucking in). It is still piping hot but the char kway teow aroma had already escaped the takeaway box.๐Ÿคญ Many lards and 2 juicy prawns are saving our day. Some place might fry until kway Teow has a charred rim but this one is not that charred. It is just right to increase our appetite!

At the basement of PLQ mall (Paya Lebar MRT), there are many food options and we are quite delighted to find this Malay/ Nasi Padang place called โ€œRed Gingerโ€ (the original outlet is in Jurong East). We decide to grab these 2 takeaway nasi lemak to try.๐Ÿ›
.
The price might be slightly more expensive than the hawker centre but they give 1 big omelette + 1 big otah (as in picture). The rice has coconut fragrance & a bit of lemony making it very palatable when having with chilli & ikan billis. We think it is well worth for having this takeaway from the mall.
.
P.S. we shall try their Nasi Padang other time! more choice to the PLQ mall eateries! ๐Ÿค˜๐Ÿ˜‰

The dish is decent though not as strong wok hei as some other places. We just wish the portion to match up the price tag. We request no hum and got what we wish. ๐Ÿค˜

Came to check out this place before embarking on a trip as itโ€™s got a raving review on Google and trip advisor.
The broth of Penang Assam laksa contains sardine, ginger flower, laksa leaves, Assam (tamarind), fermented shrimp paste, garlic galangal, turmeric, lemongrass but we still donโ€™t feel that itโ€™s in the same league as the original version we tried just yet ๐Ÿค“

Tried their steamed otak and not bad at all. Comes in slice along with a little knife to share with friends. This is perhaps a healthy appetizer option. Else you can always go for rojak or fish ball. ๐Ÿ˜œ

One of our favourite dishes at PappaRich Dolby Ghaut: Assam Laksa. Always generous portion with plenty of onion, cucumber, sliced fish etc. However, we feel the Assam broth standard has dropped. It tastes so similar to the tomato base in canned mackarel instead of tamarind. We feel a bit jialat after a while instead of refreshing feeling we should have. Note that there is no mint leaves, Calamansi and prawn paste to be seen.

This is the first time we note that we prefer no cockles in the dish. We get what we ask for!! Only prawns in this aromatic char Kway Teow dish. The wok hei & taste really satisfy us. One of must order dish along with Assam laksa

Tangy, sweet & sour Assam laksa is the dish that we order every time we visit PappaRich. Good quality ingredients with good ambience.

What to eat when you visit NUH?? We can vouch for 2 signature Singapore dishes: Nasi Lemak (from Selera Rasa) & Teh Tarik (from Rafeeโ€™s corner) served by their JV concept โ€œCraveโ€
We pick Set F (Chicken Rendang) $6.90
and Set A(Kuning Fish) $4.90
While the chilli is a bit on sweet side, the Kuning fish ๐ŸŸ are plenty & nice Chicken rendang. Enjoy their promo (2 otahs for $3)!!

Best coconut for top quality Nasi Lemak ๐Ÿ› @thecoconutclubsg ๐Ÿ

Got our seat at counter bar around 11 ish. The ambience is lively & most seats are occupied. We ordered 2 chicken Nasi Lemak $12.80 each and 2 hot tehs $2.50 and the items come pretty quick. We love coconut infused rice, fried chicken with lemongrass crackers bits, peanuts, Ikan billis, Sambal and fried egg. ๐Ÿณ
.
They carefully use best quality ingredients for each part of the dish and the Nasi Lemak dish worths our bucks as we got 2 chicken chunks in the dish (although we prefer more rice ๐Ÿ˜). Not to miss cendol $3.80 to refresh our palette at the end. Around $20 per pax (service charge & GST included)

๐Ÿฆ"Char Kway Teow" $9.90 (the dish is named in Malaysia's top 40 foods by @cnntravel)
๐Ÿ‘‰ Proper Wok hei (charred aroma) with their seasoning blend that you shall not miss! They are very generous with cockles (>10+ we counted! ๐Ÿ˜œ) plus a few good sized prawn.๐Ÿ˜
