Due to being spoilt by Padella, I came down hard on critiquing the pasta served. It was good, but pasta was outshined by the divine squab pigeon and burrata with fig hazelnuts and honey.

Ozone boasts great coffee and a strong brunch menu. Their beetroot sweet potato frittata and fish sarnie was amaze. Granted this was more of an end-summer menu, their food is consistently great all year round. Also, the coffee is good!

Fabulous gastropub in hip Shoreditch. They deliver a solid Sunday roast with the most enormous Yorkshire pud. You can choose pork & apple sauce, Welsh lamb, Angus beef, or a mix! I went with the lamb and it was divine. Also, never hurt anyone to order a few cheeky drinks with your roast lunch. We had multiple pitchers of Pimms as it was the summer!

The ultimate spot if you’re feeling a bit homesick and want comforting noodles. Super speedy service! Food is delicious and really reasonably priced. The spring rolls in the thit nuong were probably the best I’ve had in London and their Vietnamese iced coffee is ace. I had 2 in one sitting and got another to go. The caffeine and sugar crash after was worth it.

Food is goooooood. The ox cheek and brisket buns in particular were excellent. As were the charred greens. And pork belly. It was all good! Service is friendly and speedy! There’s a reason why you need to book in advance (I’m talking weeks) for a table during the busy weekend/dinner period - or walk in at 6pm for an early dinner like I did.

I love a bit of Greek food - especially if it has a modern twist. Portions here at OPSO are not big considering the price - but great for sharing and ordering a whole lot of variety. Everything on the menu is fab - special mention of the loukoumades donut ball things on the dessert menu. 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼

This was my go-to spot for gelato in uni. It didn’t matter if it was 2 degrees outside, when gelato is needed it is needed. Absolutely delicious and authentic gelato. A tad expensive, but totally worth it!

Once you get past the massive queue (get there early)... the pasta is incredible (like, my super fussy Italian friend approves)! Everything is great, and prices are very reasonable. One plate isn’t quite enough though so, might have to order a couple plates per person (or share, if you’re feeling generous). Staff are also super friendly. 100% recommend.

Incredible duck. And I mean, incredible. A must order when at this rather fancy Chinese resto. Served twice, first with the regular fixings of pancakes and whatnot. The second serving - you have the option of in a lettuce wrap (WHY), soup, fried rice or fried noodles. We went for the noodles and they were insane. So good that I didn’t even take a photo. (Also, order the duck in advance)

Other things great were the scallops with broccolini, 3 cup beancurd and the Mongolian beef. Service was good (not exceptional) but the gorgeous view of Kensington park made up for it.

I’ve found my favourite pastry, the cinnamon social slice at Ole & Steen. Basically the gift from the Danes to the rest of the world in the form of a long shareable cinnamon roll-esque pastry (that isn’t sickeningly sweet). 🤤

Delightfully saucy wings packed with a punch (and peanuts and Szechuan chilli flavour). Defo my fave order of the night. The Sticky Disco Wings are also good with a more buttery flavour if you like that sort of thing. But the Kung Pao though. 🤯 (£9 gets you a bigger portion of wings)

This delish slow roasted pork belly sitting on a kimchi pancake (more bread than pancake imo) in a pool of gochujang ketchup hits the right spot on a chilly morning. That oozy sunny side up duck egg though. 👌🏼

I think there are very few things that a bowl of soup cannot fix. That, or gin.
